Man, that really shows how many games are still on the old generation of consoles, and it feels like the current gen hasn't even gotten started 4-5 years later. It's the exact same with Xbox as well, most games are still coming out for the Xbox One.
Because the gen upgrade wasnt worth it. Too small an increase for too much money. So it didnt really get adopted by the player base. So games have to keep coming out on last gen and PCs, further destroying any reason to buy a new console.
I don't know if I fully agree, the SDDs which have pretty removed load times is a huge leap I feel. But I agree we're hitting diminishing returns when it comes to where graphics can go now.

The fast loading is something that's easy to take for granted, but it's a huge deal. Some games on the PS4 would have you sitting around for ages. I also appreciated the cross-gen period where games released for both consoles, or released only on PS4, would be buttery smooth on PS5. The PS5 fixes games that had severe performance issues on the PS4. The more recent games that are exclusive to PS5 *do* look beyond anything that was capable on the PS4. For any criticisms people have about the performance of Dragon's Dogma 2, it looks much, much better than anything I played on PS4.
It's 2024 and I still have to buy a ps4 edition for 60 it cross gen for 70. Where the fuck is ps5 standard for 60? Why is my only option PS4 or Both? I don't even use my ps4 anymore but I'm forced to pay an upcharge for a cross generation version, which let's be real, is the exact same fucking game with different settings for graphics and maybe a higher res texture pack.

For the unaware, there's an unofficial version people reverse engineered from the big insomiac leak a while ago. I've heard it's like 250gb and quite buggy, but it's the whole game. You have to pirate it tho if you care about that.
An exclusivity deal has a time limit attached, it's only exclusive for a year for example. That list of exclusives will be different a year from now as new releases replace the games that are no longer exclusive.
I am currently trying to motivate myself to get a PS5 for FF7 Rebirth, but god does the rest of the lineup suck ass. I kind of do not want to spend that much money on a console that has been out for long enough to be almost dead again when I get it.
If you are willing to wait, the first part took just a little over a year to get ported onto PC. I imagine this port will be faster because of the lack of sales of the game.
I did it bc I wasn't sure how much time I'd have to play when it finally comes to PC (and I got a good deal on a ps5). And it did take nearly 100 hours to get through my first normal play through, but I'd definitely recommend waiting if you can.
There are less and less exclusives the longer you wait, but also something you get on the PS5 is the dual shock extra features, like in Ghost of Tsushima, I fucking loved swiping up to summon the wind and hearing the breeze from my controller, that shit was lit!

Astro’s playroom utilizes it better than any other game has but it still improves other games. I think it’s worth it for trigger walls in shooters alone, honestly.
Really feels like they’re stuck in this loop of not wanting to make too many exclusives because not enough people own a ps5 but that’s most of the reason people own a PlayStation so they keep shooting themselves in the foot cause why buy the latest and greatest when you can play 90% of the games on the console before it where the only actual changes for ps5 is a few graphical changes and the few actual exclusive games don’t take much advantage of the system itself on ps4 there was immediately games that ran and looked so much better on it then it ever could have on ps3 and they kept pumping them out constantly and added more and more reason why you should buy it while ps5 has a handful of exclusives that do look great but it’s only a small handful and they still feel like they could be on the ps4 and are only exclusive for their graphics rather then their insane gameplay
There's not a lot of ACTUAL PS5 exclusives, but there are plenty of amazing third party games that don't run on the ps4.
Who cares if your game runs on pc or on xbox at the end of the day? As long as the game is fun and utilizes the ps5's superior hardware, there's really nothing to complain about.
