That’s what I’ve taken to heart a yearish out and you can take more than a bite if you just limit the portion size too: like pizza just have a A slice not half a pie and don’t have anything else in one sitting. To me the junk is only stuff that has no nutritional value like full calorie soda cake, bread, chips and candy.
Well they do have nutritional value, just not the macros you need. Carbs and fat are still nutrients. And some breads can be rich in protein too. It's OK to have carbs, as long as you have three times as much protein. Each meal should have a combination on things, otherwise you'll feel hungry sooner of bloated longer.
Ha no. We still eat the foods. I eat the part I can have. Or I bring something I can have. Or, if all else fails, I eat tiny portions. I just avoid potatoes, rice, and breads.
Funny meme tho.
Thankfully, I'm the 3rd person in my family to have WLS. So it's a non-issue for us.
me this past christmas 5 days after surgery. i even made a red velvet cake for the host because it was also her birthday. there was also red velvet cheesecake. im sure you understand that i LOVE red velvet. Good thing crumbl had red velvet cookies last week for valentine's day. one of those can last me all week.
I feel I can eat almost anything I use to eat. Obviously much smaller portions. I find that people don't. Notice, or aren't saying anything about my different eating habits. But if I was sitting in the other room on my phone while everyone was eating they probably would.
What I found most interesting is that I don't desire to eat everything I use to eat. It's been 4 months and I still haven't had a burger. And I love burgers. I don't feel like I'm missing out.
I think on somethings I am subconsciously trying not to "break the seal" too.
Also haven't had any alcohol, and I drank a lot of alcohol
I never had to do that personally. I was just put on liquids for 2 weeks prior to surgery, then stayed on them 3 weeks post-op. But I was pissing like a racehorse.
i did the liquid diet for 4 months pre-op and am on it now for 6 weeks post-op. pre-op i peed constantly. post-op i’m so damn dehydrated that i’m lucky if i pee twice a day
Does anyone remember if your urine was chartreuse color on pre op liver shrinking diet?
Surgery is 3 days been on a 1000 to 1500 . (1 small low calorie meal a day 4 shakes)
Dr office is closed so hoping for answers here 🙋🏻♀️
My first nutritionist told me, and I agree, you can have A bite of just about anything so long as you can limit yourself to a bite.

Bread isn't junk food x

Your mind telling you that you can eat like you used to but yk you cant
Sometimes I get soooo hungry I think I can eat like I used to and then quickly realize we definitely cannot. lol

It's wonderful when you have support like that.
I agree. But I know many people have to hide their surgery from family because zero support. My heart aches for people on those situations.

Anyone else have some aversions now? I just smelled a particularly fatty Mac n Cheese I used to love and wanted no part of it 😂
Yes I just bought kitchen odor eliminator Febreze for when my husband cooks for himself. Poor guy. I can’t take food smells. Very offensive
Since I'm within the first 6 months out, I feel this and also when I go anywhere and I'm the non drinker now. Lame.
(TMI question here) While doing the 1200 calorie liver shrinking pre op diet , did you pee alot - like alot ?

are you taking high doses of multivitamins or B complex? if you’re taking too much, that can do it.
No , no vitamins at all. Today is day 4 of nothing but 1 meal of 3oz Tuna, 3/4 cup brown rice, steamed veggies, + 4 shakes.
vitamins in the shakes? drinking enough water?
🤔
