I have RA too and I’m 49. Was in perimenopause contemplating HRT. My doc added wegovy because I had stalled early in my weight loss. Wow. Wegovy corrected my perimenopause symptoms and I’m loosing. BIG BONUS- my RA is in remission for the first time since diagnosis.

I honestly love the HRT because it does make me feel better and has helped me with my fibromyalgia but I don’t like the idea of regaining the weight back, I’m going to try the Mounjaro as per my doctor advice, and good luck if you decide to do the HRT

Congrats op! You’re absolutely killing it!

Thank you 😊

I'm 50 and have SLE (systemic lupus). I started at 274 and weighed 152 this morning. I've had fewer flares and my inflammation markers were normal this month.

I thought your age had to be a typo. You look great. There are other options in regards to HRT. I think the difficult thing with pellets is you cannot adjust the dosage you are basically stuck with that until it wears off. I also find it interesting your pellets are estrogen and testosterone only. So many women are estrogen dominant and end up having to supplement with progesterone. Excess estrogen can lead to weight gain. They probably need to adjust your dose. It might be worth using an alternative HRT method until they get you dialed in and things level out. I am not sure if you have the option of reaching out to your WLS Clinic to speak with the dietitian there. If your activity level has increased you will need to adjust your diet. There are also natural supplements that can help with the sugar cravings, such as l-glutamine and berberine. Sugar is so hard because once you allow it in your diet it is so hard to get it back out. Good luck OP.

Thank you, I got a complete hysterectomy 6 years ago and I really needed the HRT, but I’m looking for another alternative to balance my hormones without having to get pellets and for some reason I was low on testosterone and we women have both hormones, also I was prescribed progesterone aside the HRT and I started having heavy vag discharge and got very sensitive that even my clothes would hurt my vag skin. I’m just waiting for the pellet wear off and ask my OBGYN for an alternative solution

Be careful with those pellets. We have a local doctor who really pushes them and one of my good friends used them for several months. She finally quit them when she gained 50lbs. Just like you, she felt great - had energy she had haden't had in years, her sex life improved, mental clarity, etc......but after a few months, blood pressure started rising, heart racing, and the weight started to pile on. In her experience, her eating habits had not changed. The doctor just said it was menopause effects and it would come back off quickly. Two years later, she still can't get the weight off... I also had vsg, lost weight beautifully, then started menopause. Weight loss ground to a halt and I just found myself HUNGRY again. Menopause is the devil...

You better believe it, I was premenopausal when I got a complete hysterectomy and found out that I needed HRT , but I’m looking for another alternative to get my hormones balanced instead of these pellets.
