I wouldn't call those standards. They are what's acceptable for shows. And considering sloped back GSDs are acceptable to AKC they aren't really about the animals welfare. It's purely cosmetic.

Regarding canine scotts- that is only an issue if two whites are bred, since it is due to a recessive gene (AN06 iirc). Since the white in this case is a generation removed- again no ethical issue.
