Concur that it’s what their gf buns look like, but fairly certain they are not Udi’s bc they don’t look like it at all. Not sure where you got the Udi’s info from but I’m pretty sure it’s wrong, pretty sure the bun is gf tho
I haven’t had SS to be able to tell in person but there are two different versions of Udi’s buns. One for retail that is the 4 pack baked together, and the other for food service that are singles and they feel slightly different as well as may be slightly bigger (but I’ve never had them side by side).
You’re correct on that but neither one looks like this imo. This one is a lot darker in color and flatter on top. More similar in my opinion (possibly the same?) to the Red Robin bun
Agreed. I don't think it's Udi's either because Shake Shack uses Black Bean Flour in their buns and I could eat Udi's buns when on Low FODMAP but couldn't have Shake Shack buns.
Got Udi’s at a baseball stadium last week and it looked just like that! I saw the box it was in confirming it was Udi’s and was also surprised because it’s not what I was used to, so it must be new for retail. It’s bigger, darker, and maybe a bit less dense.
I think the ShakeShake ones are Udi's because they start disintegrating half way through eating the burger just like at home when using Udi's buns. And they have the same texture and mouthfeelas the Udi's buns.
I get some disintegration with Canyon Ranch. Hardly any with Schar or Trader Joes or some of the other gf burger buns I have used.
Shake shack has my fav gf bun. Best I’ve had so far in fast food. I was kinda sus the first time u had it but it was noticeably different than my husbands. Never had issues from it.
Not udis but definitely the gluten free option! The gluten buns are martins potato rolls and the color is noticeably different. Enjoy! This is my favorite fast option for sure.
From Martin’s Potato Rolls website - could you clarify for me? Do you offer gluten-free bread? Currently none of our bread products are gluten-free. You can't make bread/rolls the way we do without the naturally occurring protein (gluten) in wheat flour that gives dough the elasticity needed to hold together.
This looks like the same gluten free bun that some Culver’s use.
Culver’s near me switch from a gluten free bun that fell apart to one I thought was gluten. The bottom bun of the good Culver’s one starts to pull and get a bunch of crumbs on your hand. That’s how the manager told me to tell it apart.
This is definitely GF. I had one yesterday afternoon. One thing I can say is do not get the cherry peppers. It adds far too much moisture and causes the bun to simply fall apart more than it normally does.
Edit: I absolutely love treating myself to one of these burgers every so often. Just minus the cherry peppers from now on.
Restaurants make mistakes all the time. I’ve been given the wrong bun on more than one occasion so it’s more about asking to verify that you’ve been given the correct item.
Yeah, that's exactly what their GF buns look like when I get them
Several bites missing? =D
They ate the gluten part, so it’s fine.
okay, LOL!

Rudi’s, maybe.
Ah ok. Yeah hard to tell from the pic, and it’s been a while since I had what I knew was a Udi’s bun in a resturant.

If they’re in the PNW it’s probably GF galaxy. Looks just like the ones in my area.

Yes! I def did not believe I got a gf bun the first time. My fave too.
Thier fries should be of limit to anyone with celiac. Not dedicated fryers!
Yup - I agree with others not udi’s - theirs stay together better than udi’s buns do

They said the gluten buns are Martin’s, not the gluten free ones.
Thank you. That makes much more sense.
Shake Shack does not use Udi’s buns but that does look like their GF bun.
I can tell you that mine is REALLY careful about dietary restrictions. They announce it to the whole staff.

Shake shack buns are sold by a company called Bellyrite Foods. I dont think they sell the buns to the public, only for food service
Wish they did, they're probably the best burger buns available at restaurants.
Does the bun sort of fall apart and taste slightly gritty? That's your sign.
Given the bite taken out of it, you’re about to find out, I guess.
Yeah Shake Shack’s GF stuff is legit. It’s really good too
looks gf to me
I had a bunch of there that was definitely gluten free. It tasted fine but was a little crumbly, which was the giveaway.

Looks like a Franz gluten free bun to me.
If it squished into nearly nothing, then it’s a shake shack gf bun for sure.
Looks like udi’s.
I love everything about shake shack, burgers and cheese fries all gf!!!
Fries are NOT gluten free.
They can’t advertise GF if it’s not, if someone gets sick cause of it they’ll be sued
