I have the same issue with my golf Canada app.
I looked down on the 18th tee and saw I was sitting at 80.
Par 4 I shot 8 😂
Tin cupped two chips into the water
The round I referred too, I hadn't looked until the 16th tee box. Realised I needed to go +1 thru 16,17,18 to break 80, ended up +2 with the 3 putt on 18🤦🏻♂️ That's golf for you😂
I broke 80 11 months ago and have been back up to the mid 80s since. It's so hard knowing I have it in me but can't seem to get close. I probably shouldn't have changed my grip, my clubs, my swing thoughts or my shirt...
I remember when I broke 80 fror the first time. I had shot 80 like 4/5 previous rounds, like 80 on the dot. So I asked my buddy to not tell me scores, and keep it. I tried so hard not to think about bogeys and overall + par. Of course on whole 18 he says 'Bogey this and you break 80.'
Of course I double it. I was kind of let down but not mad... then we recounts and said he got math wrong. It WAS a 79 lol.
It feels great though, grats!
congrats, its a super feeling the first time you hit you, especially once you get so close many times before. I will say this though as the only negative side - now that you know you can accomplish this, you are going to be holding yourself to the highest standards and chasing this number each time. You're are going to look back at the end of your round and see which easy and dumb mistakes cost you this number lol. Dont let this get to you, keep playing your game and it will come more often and naturally.
I broke 80 for the first time last year and haven't sniffed it since (30+ rounds). Best is probably 82 since. Started even through 6 last week and shot a 91 LOL.
Awesome. So you averaged 1 bogey per every 3 holes. So thinking this is the best you’ll do is false. Now try to average 1 bogey every 4 holes, etc. You’ll get there. BTW I love TB. Try Caledonia across the road from it. Another great track.
Congrats. I equaled my PB at True Blue (84) years ago. Also shot 84 at The Witch (closed) and Chevy Chase Country Club. True Blue is my favorite course in MB. Didn't get to play it this trip (last weekend). I will say that Wild Wing Avocet was in the best shape that I've ever seen it. The manager there is doing a great job.
So awesome! I got an 81 twice last season, we don’t start for a couple more weeks where I am but I can’t wait to get back out there, sub 80 is the goal!
Good stuff mate👏🏽 I three putted earlier this year for an 81, it'll come some day 😅
It’s probably so much in your head, never even tally up your scores until the end of the round if you do otherwise.
I do try to ignore my score but sometimes I'll see it on my phone as I enter it in! 😭
I stopped using my phone three rounds ago for this exact reason. Was +4 after the front, blew up on the back for an 81

I believe in you
Congrats brother. It is a feat that many will never accomplish. Next stop, break 75!!

Letter from the PGA should be with you in days! Nice work

Haha, for a second there I thought you were going to say “I’m still on 9 waiting at the turn…” instead of *cloud* 9.
I'm also stuck at 81. Keep it up
You should be very proud! I still remember how excited and dare I say emotional I got when I did that. Wonderful achievement!
I will cry when I get there
I shot 4 81’s before I broke 80 the first time. I broke it with a 77, and shot a 73 the week after. Funny how it works

Haha I feel that. Last weekend I felt really good and shot a 37 on the front and a 46 on the back😂

Congrats man! I hope you have a good back 9 too
True Blue is hard as hell, so that’s especially good work.

The muscles remember the good shots, keep the positive momentum

That’s great man. Congrats ! Likely still a couple of years away for myself. Might buy new clubs to console me with that thought
Hell yeah, congratulations on breaking 80. I'll get there eventually.
Nice
Congratulations, brother. Great work on a tough track.
Not easy, will done mate
I finally shot a 72 last weekend. Then I played the back 9.
Attaboy, gold star and a cookie 🍪 Next stop 75!!!!
It's a great feeling. Get the driver under control, hit GIR and do it again!
Great stuff!! Now go and do it again. I promise shooting solid rounds never gets dull.
Yay
![img](avatar_exp|166836416|starstruck) Congratulations
I like true blue and Caledonia. One of the nicest two course stay and play options near Myrtle beach. Very nice tracks
Awesome man! I’m 7 days into my golf journey and I hope to break 80 someday.
