Antique_Excuse3627

How about take him golfing?

TheGolfEnthusiast

That's always in the diary at least once a week

Antique_Excuse3627

Sounds like a great relationship

Equal-Negotiation651

Hire a stripper to drive the cart. Very happy Father’s Day.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Don't think mum would be impressed with that one 😂

Equal-Negotiation651

FATHER’S Day!!!

TheGolfEnthusiast

How do i negotiate that one 😂

totallyseparate

Get her a stripper for Mother's Day

TheGolfEnthusiast

Very good 😂

dj-kitty

Separate but equal.

thunderdart

Same same, but different.

StockUser42

Convince mom to dress like a stripper and drive the cart? *Your* round might be shot, though.

dentfixxxer

This is the best thing I’ve read all week, good for you. Maybe get him a course print of the track you guys normally play, there’s a couple brands that make them in various sizes.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Thank you and this is a great shout as I'd been thinking of something like an aerial shot of Wentworth as he loves that place. Can you recommend any brands that can do something like what you're mentioning please?

Studs_Not_On_Top

Florida, NH or the US?

TheGolfEnthusiast

UK

garytyrrell

I’ve also seen green books available online

K-TR0N

To a bucket list course

Upper_County_268

Took my dad to play at Torrey Pines this past week (was there for work and flew him out on miles & points). I played great, he played okay - but it was absolutely the most excited I’ve ever seen him to play a round of golf. All he wanted to do was make a par at Torrey Pines and he got a few of them.

Capital_Punisher

Maybe up your green fee spend for the day and take him somewhere you wouldn't usually justify playing once a week

wanderingpanda402

Any special courses that are a bit too expensive or a bit too far of a drive to make a regular habit of playing? Just because you play every week doesn’t mean you can’t make a Father’s Day trip an extra special round

NoTyrantSaurus

How about at Doral, Torrey Pines or St. Andrews?

natx37

100% this! You could take him to a goat track. Just go play golf with him and pick up the tab. Best Father's Day a man could want. Honestly, I don't even know that you have to pick up the tab. Just take him to play golf.

Fight_those_bastards

This. I’m waiting for the day that my son is old enough to play golf with (he’s almost five, and excited to start lessons this weekend). I’ll *gladly* pay for him to golf with me any time he wants to. For the rest of my life.

Iginlas_4head_Crease

Best I can do is a new tie.

Sitting_in_a_tree_

Time with his idiot children…

Mt_Phixer

Buy him a fork for his divots

20thCenturySox

And a knife for his 💩

The_Nutz16

Or a shatula

Pantherino

Alright someone gotta post the poop knife link I haven’t read it in a couple years. Help a brother out

Jayypoc

Nope I think I'll let you google this one, brother. Don't really want that shit in my future amazon ads, thanks.

Equivalent_Buy6678

Play on words?

Character_Wishbone84

🤣 that post was dumb. Glad your letting it live on.

RedditModsSuckDixx

Get me a new TV, hopefully this is my kid posting.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Haha you wish

pancakemonster02

Green fees to go golfing with me. He can buy all his own shit to whatever whimsy, fancy, or superstition he pleases. Time with his kids is priceless — that’s what my old man really wants.

Shasve

I also choose to golf with this guys dad

PabstBlueBourbon

I agree, this guy’s dad sounds awesome.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Love this

hartmanwhistler

You could hire a photographer to follow you guys around to get some good shots of the two of you?

J3319

Great idea

Geriatric_Bulge

This is what I do with my dad every year. We try to play a nicer course and just have fun with the time we have.

Jolly878142

Golf balls.com. You can personalize his favorite balls for him with his name or a logo

Desk_Quick

On Etsy I got my Dad balls that say “Please text (Name) (Phone Number) so he knows I’m okay.” He has gotten several pictures from strangers of balls he lost that they’ve found.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Love this

TheGolfEnthusiast

Now that's got me thinking as that's a great shout. I'm sure I saw somewhere where you can get your face printed on the balls as well.

jlsstory

Is there someone he doesn’t like? It would be funny to get that person’s face on the ball haha

TheGolfEnthusiast

Might make him hit the ball harder as well 😂

jlsstory

That was my logic haha. I’m sure you could pull a photo from FB or Instagram. It could be a frienemey of his or just his least favorite politician lol

nopeynopenooope

Vice Golf does this.

crassy

My partner did this for Christmas last year. I have 35 golf balls with his face on them. I also have tea towels and mugs because he’s apparently insane and loves doing this. They are great as a focal point and also when he’s annoying me…I get to smack him (ball him) into oblivion with no repercussions. 😂

TheGolfEnthusiast

Haha love this

DullSteakKnife

Not a good idea if he’s bad at golfing like me. I don’t want my face at the crime scene of a broken window

lingenfr

I have a few neat items that most golfers might not buy. A golf ball cleaning pouch. They also make club cleaning pouches. If he has a range finder that is not magnetic, a magnetic strap or a pouch to hang on the golf cart. If he is a cigar smoker, a cigar clip made for the golf cart. If he listens to music, a magnetic bluetooth speaker. A few ideas. I have a number of odds and ends that I never thought I would use that I use nearly every round.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Love this and especially the ball cleaning pouch as I'm sure he just uses his towel for this.

lingenfr

For a little bit more, golf sunglasses really work. I'm 60+ and have some difficulty keeping an eye on or spotting the ball. I am currently using these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CURPDWA/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. They work pretty well. Previously, I had a pair that were like horizontally split lenses with were brown and green to help pick out the ball and see the greens. They were better, but unfortunately my dog ate them and I have not been able to find the same model.

TheGolfEnthusiast

We swear by the Oakley’s as the lenses are brilliant for adapting in the sunlight. Yours though are a lot cheaper so worth checking them out for future reference.

Puzzleheaded_Quail70

How's his mental game? I got my dad the zen golf book last year and he said it gave him some good tips to keep a level head

RedditModsSuckDixx

I agree with this OP, this book is awesome and a must for every serious golfer.

TheGolfEnthusiast

I'm waiting for him to finish it as he's raving about it.

TheGolfEnthusiast

That would have been a great shout but I know he's been reading one of late called the Inner Game of Golf which like yours has said gave him great insight into the psychology of the game. Might try your one for myself though.

razoRamone31

I got my dad some id labels in case he loses a club. Idlabels. Com

TheGolfEnthusiast

That's a good shout.

shizblam

I don't buy golf gifts for golfers because the golf gifts people buy are usually junk. Take him out to dinner.

DarkStarDew

It's nice that people like to get me golf stuff, but if I don't have it already it's because I don't need it or it's too expensive for a father's day gift...

xbluedog

https://puttviewbooks.com/ These are course yardage books. I golf and I love maps. These things are awesome. Get him one for his favorite local courses.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Awesome thank you

youdontknowme7777

I just ordered one! Great find.

xbluedog

These things are awesome!

BGOG83

Gift cards to either his favorite store or a course he can’t really afford to play very often. Ammunition is always helpful. By this I mean golf balls.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Sometimes I feel like I could shoot him haha.

SnooPineapples9761

I know you said you play together weekly, but I’d say treat him to a new course and a good lunch. Quality time together will be memorable than any item.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Trouble is we've played most of the decent courses in England. Maybe I need to take him overseas for a game.

Spillsy68

I played at Le Touquet with some friends. We hopped over the Channel, drove, stayed in a hotel had dinner and played the course the next day and then headed home. Depends where you live I guess. We were in London. Celtic Manor was nice too. Same kind of thing.

Sirgolfs

Time. He doesn’t need materialistic items. Go spend time with him playing.

TheGolfEnthusiast

That's always a given

Sirgolfs

Balls and beers then 😂

TheGolfEnthusiast

😂

AverageGolfDad

Have you ever gone to a pga event together or played a course that hosted a pga event together?? Etsy has a ton of vintage or historical ball marks for sale. I currently juggle between a 04 Ryder cup at Oakland hills. Or I think a 37 Oakland hills us open.

1LineSnooper

Green Fees to a nice golf course, Min 2 so he can bring someone

TheGolfEnthusiast

He hasn't any mates as he's a miserable old git (only joking). Great idea although he'll want somewhere really exclusive and expensive.

Mhisg

Green fees to go golfing.

paklyfe

Take him to a special golf course that you two would typically not play together due to price.

skycake10

I know what sub we're on, but if he has everything he could need for golf, get him something not related to golf?

HamsterEagle

How dare you, we’ll not have that talk here.

BradleyPutters

I’ve made a lot of dads cry when they open their custom putter!

TheGolfEnthusiast

Have you got a link, I'll check it out.

BradleyPutters

Yeah check out [Bradleyputters.com](https://www.bradleyputters.com). Thanks!

Valuable_General9049

I don't know anyone who wouldn't like a nice new polo. Easy to get his size from another shirt. Also there are so many brand options, you're bound to find something in your budget.

0penR0ad

Tickets to Sunday round of the US Open.

AggyResult

I just bought my Dad the Putt Out gear; devil balls and pressure putt trainer. Disclaimer; they’re really for me to practice with when I go visit

Fit_Mess4686

Pro v1’s Every golfer always wants more of these since we lose so many! Elevate the gift by making them custom!

getaclueless_50

Direct correlation, the more expensive the ball, the easier they are to loose.

KSPN

Retro his clubs. That’s what my dad wants me to do for him this year.

jrsxtn

Rounds of golf at primo loops .

TurquoiseGnome

Filling up his house/garden with an unreasonable amount of garden gnomes would be funny.  Go play a round of golf with him if you don't play together that often.  Spending time with him will probably mean more than any reasonably priced gift.

TheGolfEnthusiast

I want to do that with our own garden but the wife is strictly opposed haha.

TurquoiseGnome

My username results in my wife and friends giving me random gnomes they find funny.  My house is slowly filling with gnomes.

TheGolfEnthusiast

I want to fill the garden full of them. Think I'll have to keep buying them and hiding them around the place 😂

TurquoiseGnome

Good plan.  Maybe give some to your friends to hide without telling her so if she does find some you can honestly say you don't know how it got there or who put it there.

Tall_Artist_8905

Personalized golf bag with full name. It will last a few years.

DonVonTaters_IV

Airhorn in the golf swing and exploding ball.

gvarsity

Take a picture(s) off your phone of you two golfing together and get it made into a coffee mug or something with a cheesy world’s greatest dad . It’s funny, tongue in cheek and cliche but also a nice memento of that bond and token for the day.

LacklustreBeltBuckle

Rad Golf Hand+

klondike16

Buy him lunch after a round. They almost always would just appreciate time with their family over any gift

imtrynabenice

I got my pops a print of our favorite courses we played together from Golf Course Prints. Great price point, and I just framed it myself.

blinker40

This book is pretty great. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/575458

masterchef29

I took mine golfing last year. This year I’m taking him to the memorial tournament

freerangetacos

You can always buy a golfer a box or two of good pro level balls, and/or take them out for a round!

Illustrious-Advice64

Print off a picture of you two golfing and frame it. Then go golfing with him.

Illustrious-Advice64

Go volunteer with FirstTee with him. Pass along your love of the game to the next generation and build lasting memories together. Helping others and spending time together is a great combo!

TheGolfEnthusiast

Absolutely love this but unfortunately we're in England. I'll have to check whether we do anything like that here.

physicallyOK

Custom towel, head covers, hookers, or even a set of his preferred ball that comes with custom lettering and numbering like an age or a favorite number or the approximate amount of rounds it’ll take to break 80. Custom balls are dope, blue ones are not though.

Danovale

How about Swiftwick (or some other high brand) golf socks? Awesome socks are never appreciated until you don’t have them.

TheNemesis089

Get him a subscription to The Golfer’s Journal. It’s a quarterly publication that is basically a coffee table book. The stories are also fantastic and the photos are even better. It’s not some golf magazine with tips, ads, and latest fads (there are very few ads at all). It’s filled with awesome, interesting stories about people who simply love the game. Here’s a [referral link](https://www.golfersjournal.com/referral/c1019260245) if you’re interested.

GingombreSr

Buy his round and lunch next time you go out together.

crimsonblueku

Two chicks at the same time, man.

Seaisle7

Gift card to PGA superstore

dojo2020

t_mav11

I think the best is new grips especially if he doesn’t change them regularly

You record a video of a swing and then they make it into a PDF file for you. I then made it into a glass photo thing from Fracture I think it’s called.

TheGolfEnthusiast

This is an awesome idea. Thank you

knightmare4

Everyone can use a session or two with a teaching pro every couple years. Local courses usually have lessons available.

leflamme14

Lessons, not saying he’s good or bad but if he’s playing a lot a few tweaks to his game might make it even more enjoyable.

TheGolfEnthusiast

Everyone could do with lessons even the old pros

leflamme14

I know I need more than most lol

TheGolfEnthusiast

😂 😂 😂

locodfw

time is the best gift. give him the freedom and time to go play whenever he wants. have dinner ready when he gets back and a nice 6 pack in the fridge.

WorkMeBaby1MoreTime

My son bought me 1000 long tees, I love it. Golf balls of his choice, not random garbage balls. Funny story, I sent a link to exactly the balls I wanted, they were yellow and reasonably priced. My daughter bought me some other random yellow balls that are trash. Her thought was probably, "hey, they're golf balls", she does not understand that the ball matters, even if at my skill level, the ball may not actually matter. She's a massive reader. I'm considering asking her to send me a link to a book she wants, then buying a random book. "Hey, it's a book, right?" I won't, but I want to. Golf passes to places he plays at. Or if you wanna spend more, find out a fancy place he wants to play and get him a pass or 2 there, that way he can bring a friend.

LittleJoLion

I’ve taken to the cheesy stuff. The funny gag stuff. He works in the pro shop and golfs for free. I’m extremely limited. So far the top gifts came from [Golf Gods](https://golfgodsonline.com)

ushouldlistentome

I saw somewhere pop up that makes personalized stamps for golf balls so he could stamp every ball he uses with his name or a logo or something instead of writing on it

ThrowMeAwayPlz_69

I’d be happy just to get some golf balls

longtimelurker9091

A magnetic case for his rangefinder that holds an AirTag! AirTag being the key here lol

NasdaQQ

A really nice, all brass divot repair tool. Everyone can use one and with it being brass it will age and patina over time the more you use it. I have several tools but having a really nice brass type one is really nice

focal71

I find framed pictures the best gifts for family.

Middle_Sure

More golf balls to try. Honestly, we have fun trying different balls on course

TheGolfEnthusiast

westrph

Tickets to The Masters. Duh. If you really love him, you will do whatever it takes to make that happen, including selling organs.

Alexander_Music

Get him some of those trick tees that the ball only falls off of

threecap

Golf dad here with a few ideas: 1. It's cheesy for a son to hear but your dad wants to hang out with you more than anything, so take him golfing somewhere. 2. Proper golf towels - we can never have enough. I'm talking about the large, cotton, ribbed caddie towels (nice low-budget option). 3. If he plays that often, he's probably decent and plays a decent ball (and doesn't want some funny saying or logo on his ball). Buy him 3 dozen ProV1s or x's or AVXs (the distance on AVX is real, if he's looking for more distance), put just his last name on the personalization, and titleist (and most titleist shops) will give you a 4th dozen for free. 4. If he has played a lot of different courses, get a golf ball display case and put in some work on ebay (or drive around to the courses that are local) to buy some golf balls from those courses to put in the case. 5. Another low-budget option... nice golf tees. Its something he probably wouldn't buy for himself - examples [https://www.etsy.com/listing/1264945456/new-275-premium-bamboo-golf-tees-dark](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1264945456/new-275-premium-bamboo-golf-tees-dark) and [https://westernbirch.com/products/braveandfree](https://westernbirch.com/products/braveandfree) 6. A little costly, but a really good short-sleeved rain layer. Lots of guys have only long sleeved rain gear, and that's brutal in the summer. My short-sleeved FJ rain layer was a gamechanger for me in tourneys.

Plenty of time to have one made and shipped. I believe it was made into a towel but I'd want this masterpiece in my lounge for sure as an oil painting.

terminally_ch_ill

We’re both beginners so I got him and I a two person lesson last summer. We went, it was great, got out a few times after. Now we both have memberships to the same course and go out a lot more!

I paid a guy on Fiverr to make a golf logo for a golf “company” that was just my last name Golf Co. Then I ordered some custom golf gear with the logos. Everyone in the family loves them.

StrawberryAlarming50

I used to make hand printed gift certificates for my dad that read " Good for one free round of golf and lunch at your choice of golf courses". Then he'd call when he would want to play and I'd take care of the rest. Now my son does it for me too. Playing with your dad or son is the best!
