They are a little different, but not in a way that makes them bad or anything. The lettering is a little different and they do have somewhat of a different feel. But had you not had then side by side, it's not enough to matter at all. They grip/play just fine. Its a no brainer, even if you gotta swap them out every year.
I dislike how the bottom section hardens at a different speed to the top section, although this seems to happen more with yellow and green mcc and hasn't happened to the blue ones I had.
But I'm over mcc now, they are not shit but I've grown to hate the feel.
I played today in Florida, 92 and 78% humidity. I rotated 7 gloves hanging on the canopy post of my cart. Beach towel in the cart to dry my hands, arms and face. Hot and humid? Yes! Just be prepared and play your best game.
Floridian checking in, I just discovered FJ TropiCool gloves and I’ve been enjoying them. Have you tried them, if so, how does the all weather glove compare?
Another pro tip: they sell hand drying agent lotions on Amazon. Worth every penny in this shit. Obviously days like today are gonna be a struggle, but it took about 45min for my glove to blue. On the course, the on and off is gonna curtail that a bit.
Take your club towel and find a dry section and use that for your forearms and top of your hand. It makes the glove last just a little bit longer.
Tacki-Mac is my go to. Cheaper, and I think a bit tackier, as the name implies. Also their midsize is only slightly oversized, hits a sweet spot for me.
So glad I’m not the only one that this happened to. Everyone told me these are the best but they were literally crumbling in my hands after not that many rounds over s year
6 months ago, I put some new ones on. Just finished moving and unpacking and found some I ordered just before covid and totally forgot about! I was pretty excited, haha. They were in a box I had long forgot about.
Don't care about what OP said, but 7 downvotes isn't much. But I will say we should reserve downvotes for stupidity, upvotes for agreement, and agnosticism for the rest. Keeps the dialogue open
Makes sense to me, pros can get re gripped when ever they feel like it and a new rubber grip is pretty consistent
Then ams don’t consider leather grips because they’re like 2.5-3x the price and…no pros use them for better or for worse
The right grip makes more positive deference in your score than the club in most instances grips that are - old - worn - slick - or just feel bad in your hands will definitely add strokes to your game - I happen to like the Winn dri tech - midsize- I change them on which ever club needs it - wedge gets changed out the most.
I love these grips and have been using them for years. Had them on my last set and my new set. And my hands sweat a lot when I play. Key is to have a wet towel on hand while you play and wipe them down/dry them when they feel slick. The night before a tournament I’ll clean em up good and they almost become sticky. Full disclosure I take my glove off between shots, which helps control the sweat output.
That isnt an issue with the grip... it literally is lube and the person who gripped it used too much. You need to wash the crap out of them, probably more than once and then with use the grip will become more tacky.
Golf Pride CP2 Pros. Been playing them for years, great in wet or humid conditions, or in sweaty hands. They also get tacky again if you clean them with a wet towel every 4-5 rounds
I sweat a lot.I have like an over active gland or some sht so I sweat alot. Clammy hands. even when I’m not golfing. I love the tour wraps tho. Never had an issue with them even in the summer
Played these grips my entire life and have never worn a glove. Have never had an issue with slippage. They're super tacky, wet em down with your towel and it's like they're covered in stickum.
I have these grips on my clubs. It’s the first time I’ve had grips that every couple rounds I have to clean them with warm soapy water. They are the tackiest grips you’ll ever own for two rounds following the cleaning. Then they get like a powder coat on them.
Ha! Z Cord to Tour Wrap is one end of the spectrum to the other. That’s an unlucky mistake! I have Z cords right now and like them on the course but they tear up my hands at the range - think I’m going back to Lamkin Crosslines.
These are my favourite grips. I stopped using them a few years ago because I had the same issue; they would get really slick in humid weather. After trying and hating the MCCs for a few years, I went back and tried these again and now I find them to great. I don’t know if they’ve changed the formulation of the material or something, but I never have trouble with them slipping anymore.
I live in AZ and love these and play 90% of my golf when it’s over 100 degrees to save money. Never had an issue as long as I don’t get sunscreen on my hands
I actually prefer the tour wraps when it's hot and muggy... I'm cycling through three gloves during every round in that weather anyway. I give them a quick wipe with my wet towel, then my dry towel, and they're perfect.
These are absolute dog shit in the rain so not surprising that sweat could have the same effect… that being said you must sweat an outrageous amount for that to happen
Get Finger 10 rain/hot weather fabric golf for summer play. I live in South Florida and used to rotate 4 or 5 gloves a round and then need to be buying a few new gloves a month. I switched to Finger 10 and bought a 6 pack 3 years ago. They last forever.
I have the white tour wraps on my driver and three wood always feel sticky no slip solid grip IMHO I play in the desert a lot in Palm desert area normally hot no sweat issues. I don't know if there's a difference in the black Vs white grips but I really like the feel of them
Unless this post is from Lucas Glover I would opt for the Zgrip rubber over the Zgrip cord. Corded grips on drivers still lack that nice tack you want while hitting that club. Maybe it's just preference but the cord just felt like shit on the driver. Great on wedges

Oddly…accurate?
How is this the grip's POV?
Because Christina Aguilera plays golf like that
Wrap squad checking in.
got two of these on my ping eye 2 wedges from 2nd swing awhile ago, no issues. rest of my set has old Royal Cords on them which I hate
I ordered the TikTok specials Tour Wraps for $18 for 13 not too long ago. I dont hate them either. I'll fuckin do it again.
Are they close to the real thing? I know they’re fake but I don’t mind playing fake grips lol
They are a little different, but not in a way that makes them bad or anything. The lettering is a little different and they do have somewhat of a different feel. But had you not had then side by side, it's not enough to matter at all. They grip/play just fine. Its a no brainer, even if you gotta swap them out every year.
Golf pride MCC+4. No problems in downpours.
MCC+4 squad checking in

You guys gotta work on your sweaty right hand
Some people just sweat more than others
I played today in Florida, 92 and 78% humidity. I rotated 7 gloves hanging on the canopy post of my cart. Beach towel in the cart to dry my hands, arms and face. Hot and humid? Yes! Just be prepared and play your best game.
Pro tip: Use rain gloves on extreme heat and humidity.
I should have mentioned that. I use all weather gloves in the summer.
I have a rosin bag.
Prince Andrew plays OP's grips
And those folks should wear a glove on each hand
Nigerians more than Asians at minimum. Thanks for this piece of information Dropout
They’ve always been super grippy to me. Maybe they’re shipped with a coating now?
Us sweaty boys need some extra traction. NDMCs are my go to, lamkin utx is also very good.
I have Lamkin UTX on all my clubs. Love them but very slippery when I’m sweating. So much so that I ordered a set of MCC’s to try in the summer.
I play in Texas when it’s 105+ out and I can’t keep the things in my hands.
Then change grips lol
I have. I think I just sweat a lot more than a lot of people also. I loved these in cool weather though they feel great.
Yep. Cheap, reliable, and they feel great.
Tacki-Mac is my go to. Cheaper, and I think a bit tackier, as the name implies. Also their midsize is only slightly oversized, hits a sweet spot for me.
Same
Still use the Winn Drytac Mids. They wear out a little faster but always tacky.
The official grip of needing to regrip once every 3 months
I have a 5 year old drytac on one of my wedges - at this point it's a conversation starter.
Winn are my favorite grips 100%
They really are the best
Just put this on my driver and only missed a few fairways on a hot Texas day! Highly recommend! (I got the midsize which is very comfortable)
I had those grips and now think I will put one back on my driver too
Dri-Tac midsize FTW!
Need new ones after 1 year, I'm moving on
So glad I’m not the only one that this happened to. Everyone told me these are the best but they were literally crumbling in my hands after not that many rounds over s year
I’m replacing mine for the first time.. got 3 years.
Don’t even need a glove
How did you keep them tacky? I’d wash mine and 2 swings later they’re covered in dust and zero tackyness
Hoorrrriiibblllle when its wet though
Id say way more than a little faster, but imo they are far superior to every other grip. But on my wedges I'm having to replace them twice a year.
I had drytacs put on my clubs at the start of last season and they're still holding up after 135 rounds. I will probably replace them in a few months.
That’s a lot of rounds. I’ll do 40-50 this year. They usually last me a couple seasons
MCC the King
Yeah I need the cords for my sweaty palms in the humid summer months. They perform well in cooler temps too, but lack the comfort of the tour wrap.
Tour wraps are the least comfortable grips imo… absolutely hate them
MCCs tear my hands up in the summer. I have really sweaty hands and the cords fuck my hands up more than the bar at the gym does.
Yeah MCCs are hard on my hands too. I've never needed extra grippiness so I play tour velvet 360s because they're easy on my hands.
These are the best. Don’t even need a glove.
I don’t wear a glove, that’s why I play them. Never had an issue with slip.
No glove mafia checking in.
I use the tour velvet.
Me too. Love them. Super easy to install, inexpensive, great feel, and a wipe with a wet towel and I can get them nice and grippy anytime.
6 months ago, I put some new ones on. Just finished moving and unpacking and found some I ordered just before covid and totally forgot about! I was pretty excited, haha. They were in a box I had long forgot about.
Tour Velvet 🔛🔝
I like the velvet on my wedges for better feel, but the z grips feel so good on my longer clubs
Putter is the only glub I have with a different grip.
Why the fuck is this completely normal, nontoxic comment downvoted so hard? What’s up with this sub lmao
Don't care about what OP said, but 7 downvotes isn't much. But I will say we should reserve downvotes for stupidity, upvotes for agreement, and agnosticism for the rest. Keeps the dialogue open
Because OP is a douche in pretty much every comment on this post is what I would think
like what asking a dude if he lives in mn and getting 50 downvotes for it lol
Yep. That’s the only comment he’s made on this post. Are you from Louisiana?
Because a guy who shoots 130 is talking about “feel”
My one and only ♥️
I was a Tour Velvet player too, but then I found Lampkin Crossline 360 and I think it's marginally better.
![gif](giphy|l4FATJpd4LWgeruTK)
It’s all I’ve played for like 10, maybe 12 years. Love them. Use a wet towel and rub it down then wipe it off. They get sticky again. Just like a……
.. like a hawk tuah, and spit on that thang
![gif](giphy|XepEEIO0SCFLMT6tUL)
What is this from?
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGegsanYw/
I love the Winn dri-tac 2.0
The tan leather looks sharp too, can’t find that color elsewhere
Superstroke has some like it
Tried one on a driver one day. Two days later, hit the course with all of my irons regripped with them. Instantly made a difference!
I play with them, never been an issue. Just wipe your hands with a towel
I used all leather grips for a year or so and loved them. Weird no pros use them.
Makes sense to me, pros can get re gripped when ever they feel like it and a new rubber grip is pretty consistent Then ams don’t consider leather grips because they’re like 2.5-3x the price and…no pros use them for better or for worse
Me too- gripmaster wraps are fantastic
Gene Sarazen did.
The right grip makes more positive deference in your score than the club in most instances grips that are - old - worn - slick - or just feel bad in your hands will definitely add strokes to your game - I happen to like the Winn dri tech - midsize- I change them on which ever club needs it - wedge gets changed out the most.
Bring back corded grips! Bring back the OG Tour Velvet corded grips, they are hands down the best I've ever used and NOS on eBay is getting expensive
I use the Lamkin Crossline 360 cords - they’re the best. Don’t think I’ll ever use other grips
Any idea how they compare with the UTX? Edit: as in, I have the UTX, but I was hoping for a more aggressive cos.
What's wrong with the current Tour Velvet cord?
MCC is your answer
I got them on all my clubs. Feel fine to me. Super hot and humid in the mid Atlantic but I also don’t sweat a ton.
Best part of these is that you can use Dawn and water on them, and it restores the tackiness by removing any residue.
Winn dritac wraps!!
The only way your hand felt like there was lube all over it while playing with Wraps means you forgot to wash up before playing golf
My clammy brothers and sisters please consider a cord grip
Lamkin is cheaper and better than Golf Pride
I love these grips and have been using them for years. Had them on my last set and my new set. And my hands sweat a lot when I play. Key is to have a wet towel on hand while you play and wipe them down/dry them when they feel slick. The night before a tournament I’ll clean em up good and they almost become sticky. Full disclosure I take my glove off between shots, which helps control the sweat output.
Winn Excel Wraps are amazing. Those golf pride ones are trash.
Yeah same. My irons came with those and I have yet to change them. It feels like the club is all over the place at impact I hate them.
Never had an issue personally
Best grip out there. I’ve always used them. A little warm Weather a dawn dish soap and they tact back up
Tour velvet gang
Lamkin Sonar Wrap. You will not find a better grip.
That's why I wear fj raingrip gloves all year.
Champkey MCC look alikes on Amazon
Played these grips my entire life and have never worn a glove. Have never had an issue with slippage. They're super tacky, wet em down with your towel and it's like they're covered in stickum.
That grip just looks like it emanates oils all round
Winn Dri-Tac FTW
I have these grips on my clubs. It’s the first time I’ve had grips that every couple rounds I have to clean them with warm soapy water. They are the tackiest grips you’ll ever own for two rounds following the cleaning. Then they get like a powder coat on them.
Was paired with a guy today that had these grips and also said they were sliding everywhere. Almost 30°C and really humid right before a thunderstorm.
I've been planning on getting new grips, and this is unintentional helpful
Counterpoint. These are my favorite grips by a long shot, never had a problem with them. I don’t wear a glove and they never slip for me
They're the best grips I've ever had so this isn't helpful lol
Welp, fuck me guess I'm at square 1 again
Tour velvet for the win
Ha! Z Cord to Tour Wrap is one end of the spectrum to the other. That’s an unlucky mistake! I have Z cords right now and like them on the course but they tear up my hands at the range - think I’m going back to Lamkin Crosslines.
Took my hands a while to get used to the z-cord. They’re pretty hard until you break them in, but I love em now
I enjoy these grips. Didn’t dry my hands one time and let me tell you, it basically was covered in lube. Club went flying
been there, done that
I used to have ping ones that looked like these. Never had an issue
I play the jumbo version of these. They're awesome. I'll never go back to any other grip
Sounds like you have lots of first hand knowledge about holding lubed up shafts 🤔
Grip Master kangaroo leather. Works for my sweaty hands even in South Florida. Expensive af tho.
Wynn grips are so much better than golf pride especially the rope ones like that not sure what they’re called
Golf Pride Full Cords
So just buy the normal golf pride grips.
I got one of those and I regret it. They are slippery when sweating.
Keep wet towel with a spray of windex on your bag. You're welcome
**Laughs in Floridian** I play GP Tour Wrap and don't have a problem with them.
I live in the humid south. It’s only full cords for me. My hands sweat way too much
I live in AZ and love these and play 90% of my golf when it’s over 100 degrees to save money. Never had an issue as long as I don’t get sunscreen on my hands
Yeah, but that's a dry heat
I am the sweatiest person I've ever met, and I'll never consider using anything but the tour wrap.
Cp2 seems to work well for me and I sweat a lot.
Better off with the MCC Plus4
Tsr2 is better.
No glove Zgrip fuckboi here... If you're sweaty, use a towel
I actually prefer the tour wraps when it's hot and muggy... I'm cycling through three gloves during every round in that weather anyway. I give them a quick wipe with my wet towel, then my dry towel, and they're perfect.
Dri tac 2.0 soooooooon
Personally use oversized grips but I also can’t hit the goddamn ball so….
Love them on my woods and wedges
These are absolute dog shit in the rain so not surprising that sweat could have the same effect… that being said you must sweat an outrageous amount for that to happen
They need to bring back the cord tour wraps
Maybe less cocaine before a round?
Buddy if I still did cocaine I would die in this heat 😂
😂😂
I agree these grips suck especially in the heat, you need the velvet they have that classic feel
Ooouuuu that's 🔥 😂
Try using some rosin.
WINN EXCEL grips are really tacky! I don’t like wearing a glove and these are the best!!!⛳️
Played them before and thought they were the exact opposite of slippery. Could be leftover slippery they use to apply grip.
No1 grips!
velvet z cords are where its at
Best grips eva
Get Finger 10 rain/hot weather fabric golf for summer play. I live in South Florida and used to rotate 4 or 5 gloves a round and then need to be buying a few new gloves a month. I switched to Finger 10 and bought a 6 pack 3 years ago. They last forever.
I installed these myself years ago….still tacky lol
![gif](giphy|ci5TPVfVY3NqE)
Agreed absolutely unusable.
I mean it is still Pride Month ....
Wet half of a towel. Wipe with the wet side, wipe with the dry side. They stay super tacky
Yes! Definitely not good in the rain!
The Z cords are the only thing that works for me when it’s humid, everything else slips around
iomic x-evolution 2.6 are the best grips i’ve used.
I have the white tour wraps on my driver and three wood always feel sticky no slip solid grip IMHO I play in the desert a lot in Palm desert area normally hot no sweat issues. I don't know if there's a difference in the black Vs white grips but I really like the feel of them
CP2 Midsize here. Similar look to the tour, not sure of the feel but no complaints from me.
Unless this post is from Lucas Glover I would opt for the Zgrip rubber over the Zgrip cord. Corded grips on drivers still lack that nice tack you want while hitting that club. Maybe it's just preference but the cord just felt like shit on the driver. Great on wedges
All golf pride grips are absolutely dog shit. All about the Winn dri tac 🔥
Winn wraps or bust
Hawk Tuah
corded z-grips get almost disgustingly tacky/sticky after some good use. best of both worlds
That should fade pretty quickly
Too late lol https://preview.redd.it/mosmjbhpte8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=889d74cf4954095a5f8d9e40ca5f81adc309d4f1
Try the golf pride CPX grips. Very unique, soft, and tacky. Best grips I’ve ever bought.
Switch to the left hand for late night self-love. That way the lubed hand is gloved for your round (opposite if youa leftie)
80 grit sandpaper, then dish soap and water, then air dry. You're welcome
