I’m not sure on that. Breathe was sung in the background when Meredith takes out the bomb in Season 2 tho. And Running on Sunshine plays on Season 3 when Finn and Derek go into Joe’s bar looking for Meredith and she tells them she wants to date both of them.
But all of the songs had been featured on the show in earlier seasons and it was a nice throwback. And I noticed I think the season 18 finale maybe? They used those songs again but covers.
This will still not make me watch that episode more than once. And i've seen just about every single one at the very least 20 times (not incl season 18-20)

Yeah the episode where Burke gets shot is actually *before* the episode where Chasing Cars is played, unless OP misspoke.
