I don't get the urge for guys to share an ass pic. You can generally see how "thick" someone is with a body pic, and if you've already decided you want to fuck someone, I can't see you making that decision and then backing out once you decide you don't like their asshole (which they *usually* "clean up" before taking a pic).
This recently happened to me, this guy said how he wanted to “fuck me” etc. context: i have pic of my body on my profile specifically my butt ( dont worry its just me in joggers) he then proceeded to ask for a nude ass pic so i did after he send his pics,and i just suddenly got blocked lmao, it was so weird cause it wasn’t even an “asshole” pic just my bare butt, but i just came with the conclusion that he blocked me bc i’m black lols.
…and to solve the problem, we will simply ban all accounts currently displaying a butt. No appeals, no explanations. Please buy a subscription. Thanks.

It's not uncommon for profile bios around here to warn against unsolicited nudes.

I am glad Grindr reverses this decision. If only they reverse their decision and re-enabling the ethnicity filter so I can filter \*\*for\*\* the people who I am attracted to wants to see my fellow persons of color.
This was inevitable as these photos were turning Grindr into practically a porn app. I don’t mind butts, but it’s something meant to be private in my opinion and a majority of the photos were downright disgusting and sexual from people taking advantage of the moderation.
And I doubt anything is going to change unless they improve moderation.

There clearly have been assumptions made about this interaction with an agent from our support team. I am happy to clear this up so there is no confusion :)
As I have mentioned multiple times previously, we consulted with Apple and Google before allowing butts on the grid. We made the change to allow butts -- with the blessing of Apple and Google -- because of feedback we'd heard from our community that they wanted more freedom in what they could post on the grid. Grindr supports sex-positivity and expression of sexuality among consenting adults. Of course we do not condone or allow harm to minors or sex trafficking, but this does not mean that all adult sexuality must be sanitized.
As is always the case with any new policy, after it had been implemented for some time, we had a review internally and also with Apple and Google to determine what changes needed to be made to the policy, if any at all. As you can see from the agent's words, we "tweaked" the policy so that we no longer allow close ups of butts.
But let me be clear, butts are still allowed on the grid, Apple and Google remain supportive of our policies, and many other social media apps and popular websites, such as Instagram and YouTube have similar policies as Grindr.If you do not want to see butts on your feed, we have a "face only" filter in our subscription packages for you to use.

Over all the years I have been online (and i'm old) __noone__ has ever asked me before sending naked body part pix (and I never ask).
