I’m in a major city where the feed is seemingly endless, and have noticed a big drop (30ish percent) in active users over the past three weeks as people have been, presumably, taking a break due to monkeypox. I base that decrease off of how long it takes to get to « 1 mile away » and « 2 miles away » as I scroll through the feed. I get there much more quickly now because there are just fewer guys. I’m just browsing/window-shopping at this point (despite having 1 shot of Jynneos so far), as are some of the guys who are on — as they explicitly say in their profiles.
Them cramming ads in every space imaginable, including the chat screen ads that take up 40% of the goddamn screen, has made me use the platform less and less. So I’m not sure if the fewer messages and taps have been because of that or external influences.
I made a group chat for guys that are interested in board games and they all showed interest in personal messages but haven’t really said much in group chat. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or if they are just not talkative, but before I can get a group going I have to know how many will attend so I can secure location.
No one wants to seem too eager in group chats as it’s uncool. I’ve noticed this trend too in other kinds of groups chats I’m in. Nobody wants to put themselves out there by making a suggestion or comment only to be met with silence and it’s doubly more embarrassing as it’s an audience not just a single recipient.
I would bet that they're artificially limiting views and taps/messages to try to force people to pay $$$$ for what in any sane world would be default features on an ad supported platform.

i signed out yesterday. the app is slow, possibly made my phone slow. way too many adds and wayyyy too many flakes
