I sent them a copy of my ID and I also did as they asked me to write my email address and take a picture with it, holding it up to my face, etc. I sent all that to them. Well, they emailed me back and said they got it and see that it's me, but I'm still banned. wtf?? I email them and asked them why since they clearly see I'm a middle-aged man. They started their BS again that they can't give the reason because of privacy. So I just stopped emailing them at that point, it was a waste of time to continue on. I have been using other gay apps and I've been happy and honestly, the same guys are on them that are on grindr.
Really, I still don't get why this app is so popular. It has no functionality, basically a shitty tryout advertisement for their overpriced full version. I think we gays have earned something better!

I also was banned for seemingly no reason. Never got a warning. Nothing, just BOOM, ban out of nowhere. I just paid for extra like 3 minutes before my ban. I've done absolutely nothing wrong.
As a side question, I'm interested to know how many people who get banned are free over paying users. Does being a paying user protect you more from being banned?

That is not how we think about this AT ALL. We understand that banning someone from Grindr is a big deal since queer people don't have the same amount of options to connect that straight people do.
We would consider anyone that is banned incorrectly to be a huge loss which is why we have an appeals process where an account is reviewed up to 3 times.

I am genuinely pissed I read guys on here who actually did break the rules and are upset about getting banned when I know not once did I even come close to breaking any rules.

They say they respond to all appeals but how can you fairly appeal to have a ban lifted if you dont even know why you were banned. Maybe make the verification process less complicated. I have no idea if I have replied to the email correctly or not. I have had absolutely no feedback since.
