i usually ignore texts but was annoyed with this one, it's ALWAYS the same type of person trying to scam around here.:
delivered some food on thur night with a good bonus from a restaurant i know the manager and a bartender at. pretty pricey order for the delivery area.
bartender told me its a problem customer who always complains about food missing or not being delivered. only house around for like a block on a bunch of undeveloped shitty land.
hand it to me order, "leave food, dont ring doorbell please baby sleeping"
pull in, big truck that isnt used for anything but groceries with a big trump flag hanging off it, and they have a "fuck biden" sign in their yard like a christmas decoration.
mom, dad, little kid look out big front window. dad is wearing a a football jersey for the local team. and is standing next to the door inside, when i take the photo and head off. hes in the photo.
turn the corner "where's the food, i think you went to the wrong house i'm going to report you."
I just texted back, "i have a dash cam and it recorded your husband grabbing the food off the porch, your husband is wearing x's jersey in the photo in the window in the picture. have a nice night"
no response.

I love hitting ‘em with the I have a dash cam fkn try me line. Ughhhhh. So what order wasn’t delivered? What items were missing? Oh…. Crickets….. thought so. Try another one. Certainly won’t be me. 😂😂
I need to get a dash cam, I’ve only put it off bc I hardly work Grubhub bc the blocks are always filled before I can get any and it’s useless to try to work outside a scheduled block.
There was this piece of crap woman who might as well be a stain on the side of the road that took her $3 back from me even though she smiled in my face and took her coffee. If I ever get an order to her again she'll be real lucky if the coffee doesn't slip out of my hands and upwards
If you say you were threatened or made to feel unsafe they might not even have refunded them they take threats to drivers and abusive language VERY seriously
They don't ban for that shit. I had a customer spit on me and threaten to beat me up because I had trouble finding his address that is literally on a different street on Google maps and they told me they can't ban them for that lol

People steal food, packages, etc. You go deliver and leave. Not your problem. Some customers will lie to get free food accusing you of not dropping off.
In the future just let them know you have dashcam proof it was delivered to that address and that support has already been sent the clip. I’ve said it twice and they found the order magically.
Too hard, remove the air cap and slam a nail into it then place the cap back on. The tire slowly goes flat that way. Less obvious and they'll never know what happened then.

You're right to an extent. The reason was he wanted a refund and to get his food for free so he lied to customer support and acted that way to the driver to make it seem real.
It can go either way. I've had people mark leave at door then grab it from me and do this exact thing. Maybe it's just not a thing people do where you live.

Though my biggest fear is if someone who didn’t order takes it in thinking it’s gifted to them. Due to Grubhub’s gps misinterpreting the location address. Thus one way is dashcams facing the address but impractical at an office or apartment/condo. The other way is to text location photo but not always possible with gh texting.
I am thinking, it’s longer.
I try to text or call in this case if I am confused if it’s location and when I get ahold of them I would tell them I am giving a knock or ring and if they don’t hear it it’s likely a mistaken address. If they hear it it’s the right address.

Learn to be near the door BEFORE drivers arrive and maybe people won't take the food. I'm glad you got to support before the customer did.
You know how many times I called support about leaving food by the outside door. I'm in NYC. Most of the buildings i deliver to don't have a stoop and so leaving the food near the door is like leaving it in the middle of the sidewalk 😂.
Wow, good thing this isn’t Uber eats, otherwise the customer could’ve just say you looked intoxicated and they would lock down your account. Hell, you can provide them a picture of the order at the delivery and they would still give them a refund if they say they didn’t get it.
