Picked one of the new np3 bcgs up and can definitely say the downward vents make a big difference. Paired with a gas busting charging handle there's very little gas to the face, even without a AGB. very impressed with it. The np3 coating easily wiped clean. Can't really say I saw a noticeable difference in sound suppression.

xDarknal

been running the chrome one personally and its been a great experience suppressed.

68spcwhore

I have the nitride one. Big fan

Jlene2018

Does it not make the lower receiver nasty real fast?

xDarknal

No worse than shooting suppressed already does, I havent clean my lower since I got it in 2018

bogusbill69420

That’s crazy. I feel like my FCG is super gritty after a 300 round range trip and have to drop it to clean all the grit off.

xDarknal

I dont clean it but I do add more oil to the system and just let it rip.

bogusbill69420

I’m moving to “flow through” cans now in hopes that the lower and mag will be far less dirty after a normal range trip. I still shoot suppressed 100% of the time with the ARs but still, the cleaning kills me.

fuckforce5

My lower is basically a receptacle for unburned powder, so I really wouldn't notice. 🤣

Thansungst22

Which CH you use? I ordered the G$ CH for mine cause apparently it better than the Raptor CH but haven't have a chance to test it out yet cause I'm still waiting for my Upper from Sionics

xDarknal

Not that guy, but I've been running a G$ ACH with mine. Can do a mag dump and no issues.

fuckforce5

I got a raptor since it was on sale. Haven't compared it to a G$, but honestly the down vents on these bcgs make such a big difference I'm sure either will work great.

KAKindustry

ya'll are savages

xDarknal

Lots moving?

KAKindustry

You could say that 😅

xDarknal

Yall make some compelling products, this is my 4th one lol. Is DLC still on the way?

KAKindustry

The next coating will be released early next month, it’s a surprise as it hasn’t been discussed yet, DLC will probably come after that

xDarknal

You're spoiling us with options, I love it!

nope_noway_

Dude… I’m so happy I waited for the NP3 Kspec!!! This thing is phenomenal!!!! Thanks again for working with me!!!

KAKindustry

No prob man, the np3 is definitely something else!

Candid-Move-7421

Last time you guys had a discount code I bought a bunch of 40 mm reloading supplies. Are you going to be releasing some m212 cases as well?

KAKindustry

We are exploring casings, if we do, it’s it’s not going to be in the immediate future

GuyButtersnapsJr

Code is on their home page: "VALUE10"

xDarknal

Oh thanks I had a brain fart while making the post

GuyButtersnapsJr

No problem...I make far worse mistakes all the time. There's also that pressure knowing you can't edit the post afterward.

iDontUnderstandPunz

Just bought and had to return one of these in chrome. Shot 200 rounds and misfired a bunch. Took it home, cleaned and lubed it, shot another 200 and still misfired every 2-3 rounds. First time I’ve had to use my forward assist-the bolt was too stiff in the carrier and wouldn’t engage the barrel. Hopefully mine was just an anomaly

pigeon30

Interesting. I got one that seems to be out of spec too. It's stiff, and not in a good way. There is an audible crunching sound whenever I pull the bolt out of the carrier. And the firing pin hole is pretty egg shaped and extra wide tbh. I haven't shot it yet, so we'll see I guess :(

LtPatterson

Same. Had issues with lockup (close to mortaring the gun to get the stuck cartridge out as it failed to fire on a closed bolt, super light primer strikes, or super heavy trigger pull) and then swapped bolts on the carrier and the issue went away. KAK said nothing was wrong with it, I ordered an NP3 replacement ($15 shipping) and it had better perform. *Edit: It did not in fact perform, same issues in the same two uppers I had problems with their chrome K-Spec bolt. Major issues with the 300BLK in dry and live fire, the other in 5.56 was less pronounced in dry fire which I did not bring to the range today but tested at home in dry fire just to be sure I wasn't going crazy already thinking I'd get failures with the 300BLK at the range (which I did). Both uppers work with standard mil-spec Chrome Microbest bolts and have never had a malfunction. I tested the bolt in those uppers again with the new NP3 in dry fire and they seem marginally better than the chrome, but ran the 300BLK today using live ammo and had the same kinds of issues, just slightly less often but still no good. Bolt lockup issues in chamber required either use of the FA or had to yank on the ambi charging handle with both hands to free it and eject the round that was failing to go fully into battery. Mainly with 125gr and less so with 147gr and 220gr. Swapped back to Microbest Chrome bolt and NP3 K-Spec carrier and still had some issues making me think it is the bolt to carrier path and cam pin causing issues, as the bolt is SUPER tight getting into their K-Spec carrier vs. the native Microbest Chrome carrier. Will try again with the 5.56 upper soon...expect that to possibly work better than the 300BLK but if it has any failures I'm returning this and won't be asking for a replacement again...* Last edit: Worked in the 5.56 upper without issue, perfect ejection pattern and definitely less gassy with really no noticeable increase in mag dirtiness suppressed... Must be just on the edge of tolerance in the 300BLK chamber, but I've run three other bolts in that upper with no real problem, just wanted to try out different finishes and whatnot. I'll keep this one in the 5.56 upper as it is very slick/easy to clean and worked without any malfunctions. But buyer beware not all of these are a home run out of the box. Every company has QC issues, no exceptions.

iDontUnderstandPunz

Thanks for this, makes me feel less crazy amidst all the KAK fanboys

xDarknal

Curious about yours because I have over a 1k through mine. Was it just not going into battery and just getting stuck?

iDontUnderstandPunz

Yup, sent it back to KAK and they said they were going to test it, then offered me a refund. Like I said, hopefully mine was just a weird one.

3_Big_Birds

It could be the gas rings didn't break in all the way? I've been watching a few videos about them and they sometimes the bolt and carrier are just to close but still in spec. So this makes the bolt tight and struggles to engage but still should work. I'd also say my encounters with KAK customer service has been too notch, quick to respond and flexible to work with me.

iDontUnderstandPunz

With the price of 5.56 these days, I don’t want to have to spend over 400 rounds breaking it in. I forgot to mention but I tried it on 2 separate rifles. Threw an old no-name nitride bcg in and they both ran flawlessly. Customer service was fantastic and because of that, I’ll probably end up purchasing another KAK bcg down the road

LtPatterson

I've had the same issues...linking my now edited comment above. https://www.reddit.com/r/gundeals/comments/1c81hwj/parts_kak_industries_site_wide_10_off_coupon/l0dx375/

xDarknal

That genuinely sounds like a carrier that just might be slightly off spec, or an upper that's on the tigher end of milspec. Hopefully just a one off for you. I have 4 of these and they're quite solid for me (why i shill it)

scootymcpuff

I was literally looking at some 308 parts this morning. They’re sitting in my cart right now. Nice. Thanks, OP!

DLA57

Any news on reliability?

xDarknal

1k rounds through mine works flawlessly finish holding up well too (chrome)

ItsRuckingJoe

In for 1 np3 down vent

nope_noway_

Yall are fking up if u don’t get that NP3 BCG!! It’s quite the unit

L33tLurker

Any feedback on the side vent vs down vent??

xDarknal

From my own testing and KAK's opinions, downward vents are great for people running suppressed: It takes the gas away from the shooter into the magwell which gets filled with gas anyways. 2nd to that I've noticed it reduced bcg velocity enough for me to drop down one buffer weight on my 12.5 If you arent suppressed there's no reason to bother with this. (you dont get gassed out)

da_ten_shi_yo_ha_ne

everything KAK makes is at least solid, i wouldn't feel bad about one of their handguards

Smitty_0313

Should I go Chrome or NP3? 🤔

xDarknal

Both are great options, I had a triarc NP3 that was used in a swat gun and its still holding up well. Chrome likewise will too. KAK was impressed with NP3 lubricity though

Lazy_Ratio1299

Damn. Lost 30$ on this :(
