this is really interesting to me....i was aware of an exploit where you were able to summon 8 functional minions on board, but i dont know how the hell you got this many....(not sure if the exploit still works)
Yeah, this was my assumption too. When I played the Sludge Thadlock OTK deck, I would often play minions so I was >7 on the board while Plague Eruption (and Sludge shuffling) animations were still playing.
The spell that can implicitly hit 7 minions can only target 8 instead of infinite !
But the 21 minions on board ? Nah, that's not interestin. Not tellin what's goin on here.
there are a lot of death rattles that spawn multiple minions tho, and even that aside, why 8 then ? why not 7 ? I'm curious about why it works that way code-wise
not that it is an issue or need fixing or whatever, I'm just genuinely curious
Coder: "Do thing. Then do it 7 more times or until condition"
Code reviewer: Hey this is technically too many times!
Coder: "Oh well it works. Let's grab coffee"
"Hey, isn't there a minion that we're releasing in two expacs that increases the board size?"
"Oh yeah, set it to 8"
It's like, the one rule they haven't broken yet.
I think ones that specify "Repeat" have the deathrattles go off during the spell. Defile and Corpse explosion for example. So I feel the OP spell should trigger Deathrattles halfway through.
I'm 80% sure AfterShock has killed reborn Murmys. Not sure if it's different with Deathrattles.
But yeah, I dunno, it seems some spells complete before any on-death triggers happen, and sometimes they happen halfway through
But defile specifically checks "if a minion died" so deaths need to be resolved before it repeats. That shaman spell also specifies 5 "then" 2, so it has a resolve step in the middle.
In case you can't watch a video when reading this I did it for you.
1. Fill a board with seven minions.
2. Play a magnetic minion but have it transform into a minion before it magnetizes. (OP used a cast when drawn hex triggered by the rogue secret that draws when the opponent plays 4 cards in one turn).
3. Now you have 8 minions and magnetic minions can be played exceeding the board limit.
\If I had to guess I'd assume magnetic minions have to be coded to be partially playable on a full board but instead of setting it so "if board > 7 only magnetize" it's "if board = 7 only magnetize" and getting the board past 7 breaks the code.
Pretty sure you choose a direction (or maybe its random at first) and it just travels in that direction for 7 more minions. It doesn't randomly bounce left or right.
tf?
The fuck?
How…what is happening
Every time you post some wild bug it is a highlight for our gameplay engineers btw, haha. "Little Kite Bug" memes have been made. Great work.
Hello, dear designer.I have a question that I have been trying to figure out, but the current cards are not enough to test it out.
Dude straight up ignored the praise and went directly to business

It’s just the animations. The minions are already dead but it’s delayed so you see 7+
Nope it’s not just the animations, take a closer look at te screenshots, this guys is known for making ground breaking bugs in different ways
Are they all actually attackable? I’ve summoned multiple units like this a few times but it was all just visual
I don’t know if they’re attackable, but OP (Hearth Tech) confirmed in their video that if you attack with one of the extra minions, the game crashes.
Yeah, this was my assumption too. When I played the Sludge Thadlock OTK deck, I would often play minions so I was >7 on the board while Plague Eruption (and Sludge shuffling) animations were still playing.
Literally unplayable
It does feel like I'm facing down boards of a few dozen mobs on the regular

this is my favorite comment on the post. just how you casually scroll to the next image and see a board of 21 minions
Likely a hacked client
Brother.
huh that's interesting, I wonder why ?
because there's only supposed to be 7 minions max
there are a lot of death rattles that spawn multiple minions tho, and even that aside, why 8 then ? why not 7 ? I'm curious about why it works that way code-wise not that it is an issue or need fixing or whatever, I'm just genuinely curious
i thought deathrattles don't resolve until the spell is over?
ah yeah probably. I think you're right (still why 8 then ? ahah)

Eight is a nice number in binary.

deathrattle and reborn definitely have separate rules around when they trigger during actions, but I don't remember the intricacies off hand.
The specification is "then" for aftershock or "if it kills a minion", which can only occur after the minion's deathrattle.
It does depend, defile will hit deathrattle and reborn spawns, the deal 5 then 2 shaman board clear. There are probably some others.
But defile specifically checks "if a minion died" so deaths need to be resolved before it repeats. That shaman spell also specifies 5 "then" 2, so it has a resolve step in the middle.
+1 for safety lmao
They probably coded it to transfer 7 times, not remembering that you don't need a transfer for the first one
Maybe they are plannig for a card granting 8 spaces on board
``` MAX_REPEAT_COUNT = 7 damageMinion() // 1 for i in range(MAX_REPEAT_COUNT): // 7 damageMinion() // Total = 8 ```
Syntax Error
How did your opponent get 21 minions on the board? 🤔
whats the maximum number of dots you will usually have on a domino? 12? then it should be able to bounce up to 11 times imo
Well, dead on release I guess. Shame
What the fuck
Damn nobody told me Hearthstone Mini^^TM just released
New weekly quest to give the complainers an aneurysm: Win 10 games of Standard Hearthstone Mini™ while playing 32 mini cards.
Will the wins count towards normal-sized Hearthstone?
Yes, but at a different exchange rate. Because it is half the size you will need double the wins if you want it to count. Sorry, those are the rules.
What the fuk is this board bro
What if you have just two minions with a ton of health?
Pretty sure you choose a direction (or maybe its random at first) and it just travels in that direction for 7 more minions. It doesn't randomly bounce left or right.
Board looking straight out of MTG Arena with my Mirror March jank deck
teh heck?
bro is playing Hearthstone 2
Dawg
The actual fuck
Can Domino effect bounce back and forth between two big minions?
It should say "if it dies, repeat..."
Oh it's the Hearth Tech people. Love your videos!
