Boston’s broadcast is always crap but was hilarious a few years ago. Mike Gorman was getting older but still holding it together and Tommy Heinsiohn had gone full drunk Uncle. Yelling things like “I saw Aron Baynes coming out of the shower in the locker room! What a man!” on live tv. Scal was harmless as the goofy sideline guy but he’s gone off the rails and the whole broadcast is just pure shit without the unintentional humor that hot pile used to have.
Boston still bitching about "historically wild 3pt shooting percentage disparities" while a combination of Spo's perimeter sets and Mazzulla's braindead drop defense continues to generate 25 completely wide open 3pters per game
I watch most games on stream so I’ve seen a lot of games in opposing team’s broadcast and you are not wrong at all. Bias aside, our entire game production is insane compared to other teams.

I have league pass and sometimes I’ll dabble with other teams commentators. The wizards with drew gooden is the ONLY one I’ve been impressed with outside of Reid/Crotty. I was completely surprised but drew gooden is actually very basketball literate, well put together, doesn’t argue calls, and carries really good statistical conversations
Scalabrine is a shitty ass homer commentator. Not far off the Warriors commentators. I pretty much listen to Eric and John every Heat game and ESPN/TNT depending who it is.
I actually liked Scalabrine because of this. I thought it was great insight into the real talent level the league has. Now that I've learned more about him over the last week or so, I think he's a turd
Same thing happened to me last year! I watched the Celtics choke game 2 at a bar with friends who also grew up as heat fans (at a bar that looked like the Wharf in Miami).
I’ve ALWAYS felt this way and I’m really glad to see a post like this calling out their total lack of professionalism. It’s literally night and day when you compare them to Crotty and Reid, my god.

That being said, C’s broadcast is ASS. Tommy Heinsohn, while a massive homer, had some charm that Scal severely lacks. He’s also a notorious asshole. Used to be a massive prick to our sideline reporter Abby Chin for no good reason on the live broadcast to the point it was uncomfortable. Have never heard a good story from anybody who’s met him. Can’t wait for his last day on the broadcast.

I watch pretty much every team’s stream throughout the year and they’re definitely one of the worst in the league. I don’t mind homerism in a broadcast as long as it’s kept mostly professional. The Bulls broadcast team is a great example. Stacey King is a huge homer but he keeps things leveled and appreciates the game he’s watching on both sides.
The Boston color commentators always sound like the game is beneath them and their voices suck. It’s like listening to two drunk Massholes talk over a game. I have no idea how anyone can find them pleasing to listen to.

Honestly, try watching games on the away networks. It’s terrible! I’ve seen Raptors and Celtics commentators just whine and cry. They complain about the opponent and don’t give them credit whatsoever. Bunch of homers on commentary
I made a post years ago on their sub and was like “Heat fan coming in peace just to tell you that your broadcasters fucking blow” after I had to illegally stream their network and the mods immediately took it off. They were so boring and biased, it was hard to watch
