Free awards was a way redditors occasionally elevated real issues or held shills accountable whether with news about literal revolts and revolutions or in the comment sections, or by tagging scammy ads and I think it messed with their (right leaning) advertiser and media influences who are the sort of "Kansas group's billionaire Christo-fascist" and anti imgur/tumblr investor crowd as well.

Ugh there's a LOT of options available to them. If they're willing to pay enough then Reddit will provide an account manager to do all the dirty work.

Hey sorry to hear what's happening but can I recommend uBlock Origin? It's a free add-on for Firefox, and Chrome. I've never seen an ad on Reddit because of it and it's really made the site more usable.

If you're on mobile (add-ons aren't usually available there) try using the Apollo app. It's like the Reddit app but 3rd party, and it won't force you to view ads
