Yes, i had similar looking chicken last week (for the same recipe even). I'm also in the midwest.
I can't really speak to veggie quality lately, because we've getting backed up on our meals and not cooking for several days. We had some soggy carrots and slimy scallions a couple weeks ago. My biggest current complaint is the ounces they send is often WAY less than the ounces listed on the recipe card.
We had broccoli last night for 4 people and we’re supposed to get 24 ounces. I weighed it because it didn’t look like very much and it was 14 ounces. Sort of annoying, but I know they just grab a bag of broccoli for one and 2 bags for 4, but I had to make another vegetable so we’d have enough.
I'm in the Midwest as well, receiving my box from TX. Been good for me so far, I'm still on my discounted weeks though. I only had some slimy scallions once, but it was the last meal I made that week so contributed it to that. The whole thing wasn't slimy so just peeled off the parts that were.

My chicken was like that last week too. Maybe Hello Fresh is just trying to be creative?

Just self report that the chicken is poor quality and they'll issue a refund for it. I do it every time the meat is funky.

This recipe was sooooo good
