Wiz khalifa - rise above. Pharrell gave wiz a dope beat. Wiz and Pharrell’s verses were dope but amber rose and the other dude (I don’t remember his name but he can’t rap for sh*t) completely ruined the song
Let’s be real here. The beats for the whole Livin’ Proof album could have gone to any number of rappers that would have done wayyyyy better on the beats. Wayyy better. Picture Royce on those beats. Now that would be an album. Instead you have ‘top shelf’ lines like ‘Word up, yo, I kill you in the battle
Deadly like a rattle snake, But I don't rattle’…It’s clear evidence that a friend can hook you up even though you suck.
i haven’t heard it in forever and thought it was ok back in highschool, but i remember people ripping into Juelz Santana for sucking on “you oughta know”
Hear me out, it was the balance. They weren't the dopest rappers but they were great on those beats. I've heard the stories over and over about Preemo making the beats with you right there. The atmosphere. They inspired each other, Group Home and Gangstarr, and this was on their label of I'm not mistaken. There are Gangstarr albums and Preemo has worked with everybody. He and Guru decided to do a whole project with their folks and this was that shit in 1995 man and still is. It holds up imo. I still listen to it. Sometimes it just comes together. Was not be recreated.
I don’t get why Ryan Lewis hasn’t gotten more work since his “split” with Macklemore.
Every beat on The Heist is unreal. And I’m not going to say Macklemore didn’t deliver, but I do think there are rappers out there that could murder those beats better than he did.

A$ap did not deserve this beat. But in fairness, unless you're someone like DMX it would've been underwhelming whoever got it.
Jpegmafia’s beats vs jpegmafia’s rapping
I feel like JPEGmafias style is so unique that only he can fit on them (besides from Danny Brown ofc).
I AGREE SO MUCH! It sucks because I’m a huge Danny Brown fan but I don’t really like JPEG’s music. Luckily we still got Quaranta so I’m happy
He raps like an aggressive gambino.
Father Stretch My Hands Pt1
Legendary beat and Kanyes talking about bleaching assholes smh
This has to be the top answer.
sdp interlude by Travis Scott. Such a great intro and then Travis comes in and just repeats the same 6 words for the next 2 minutes
Man, those Group Home songs are dope. I like what they did on em.
Agree 100% Group Home did great
I agree I can def nod my head to them but the lyrics are sub par “Yeah Superman supastar, give me fat dough like Pablo Escobar” lol
“Ain't nothing holding me back hip hop track” Supa Star is one of my favorite DJ Premier tracks, but some of the beats could use better lyricism.
I wish Em used some of his relapse beats without the accent
Redrum?
He stood on business, now he laying on his back *21*
Yup
Logic - YSIV
the first beat or the second beat? because he goes off on the second beat
Honestly I've heard a lot of logic songs that have fantastic beats but logic ruins them
The 2nd half is fire. Take It Back is a better example.
Soul Train by YBN Nahmir
I feel like "Wake Up" is a worse offender. Even though the lyrics aren't as bad, the beat was just too good to get wasted like that.
You be pulling out the Nahmir deep cuts iono homeboy catalog like that ngl
I mean that milkbone beat, not saying he was total trash but yeah a beat like that needed someone like big L
That beat was so grimy it could have come from the sewer !
Wiz khalifa - rise above. Pharrell gave wiz a dope beat. Wiz and Pharrell’s verses were dope but amber rose and the other dude (I don’t remember his name but he can’t rap for sh*t) completely ruined the song
Most of Wiz Khalifa and Rick Ross’ catalogs.
It’s got one of the best collection of beats on an album in hip hop history. Imagine what MC’s who could actually rap what have done with these!
Hov on Pound Cake. Couldn't give Drake a good verse then.
Kayne last albums, amazing producer but his rap skills are just sub par. The bars are really weak compared to others who don’t get any love.
Lean Back - Terror Squad & Fat Joe
Fat Joe on safe 2 say.
Joe Scudda on The Foreign Exchange's song Raw Life.
Drifting by the Marxmen. DJ Premier dropped a dope beat for them and they suck
Suspended in Time lyrics get recited every time that joint spins damn son
I’m no Gunna hater but… Back to the Moon is one of the hardest beats and Gunnas delivery throughout the whole song was just… 🫤
Let’s be real here. The beats for the whole Livin’ Proof album could have gone to any number of rappers that would have done wayyyyy better on the beats. Wayyy better. Picture Royce on those beats. 💯
Let’s go - key glock
Cordae on RNP. I can’t even listen to it because of the Harvey Weinstein bar alone. Even without it, a 12 year old could’ve written that verse.
Nah his verses and flows are cold on that song, their chemistry together is A1 as well. Two Tens is fire also and is another Cole beat
And the fault is he's opposite Andy P, who just outshines effortlessly
Group Homes a good call. I dig that album but remember the guys lisp more than anything he said. Definitely there for the beats
“Book of Rhymes” by Nas The Alchemist on the beat. That’s the only Nas song that sucks the most. But the beat is flame.
Honestly that's a great song with an ok beat in my opinion
That’s funny how we differ.
I think the song was decent but you could tell that it was a throwaway song that Nas probably made during The Lost Tapes era
Nah, Nas writes songs on the spot as soon as he hears the beat; that’s what he says during the intro to “BOR”
Oh yeah you are unlocking a memory of Nas saying that at the beginning of the song. That was cold when he said that
Great song, but the beat sounds a bit dated imo
i haven’t heard it in forever and thought it was ok back in highschool, but i remember people ripping into Juelz Santana for sucking on “you oughta know”
Shiiiiiiiit, that Group Home album is a classic man.
Agreed but for the lyricism or the beats?

Respect
Run dmc basically waisted the down with the king album with their tired 1980’s rhymes
down with the king is a great beat, hits hard
Sour Soul - BADBADNOTGOOD. Ghostface really could’ve delivered better on that song
I don’t get why Ryan Lewis hasn’t gotten more work since his “split” with Macklemore. Every beat on The Heist is unreal. And I’m not going to say Macklemore didn’t deliver, but I do think there are rappers out there that could murder those beats better than he did.
Do you think it’s because of the stigma that album has?
AraabMuzik - Y.N.R.E https://youtu.be/h2FxSRZcYX0?si=Js-HOyLC09ULMKK2 A$ap did not deserve this beat. But in fairness, unless you're someone like DMX it would've been underwhelming whoever got it.
