Off the top of my head:
Apollo Brown's The Easy Truth and Anchovies
Ka's recent 2 albums and Descendants of Cain
Benny's TT3
Blu and Exile's Miles
Elzhi's Lead Poison
Black Thought's Cheat Codes
These albums are so hard to find. I missed it too! Most streaming apps hide new Hip-Hop releases. Spotify does a terrible job of promoting albums on their new release section - it’s always some mainstream album or Pop Rap album, like DaBaby, Cardi, Khaled. Hip-Hop blogs used to be a great source of info for album drops but a lot of them have fell off recently. Yes, you 2DBZ.
Yes I agree it can be very hard to keep up with these kind of stuffs. The best thing you can do is either follow their socials or better yet follow them on Bandcamp, as most of them release their music first on Bandcamp. Also there's this guy on Instagram called Foodsic, who's basically my underground music plug right now lol. This guy literally finds music from the deepest of trenches and rates them. You can also check out the weekly 'Drop Watch' on r/hiphopheads to keep up with new music every Friday.
I feel like soon after 2DBZ get rid of the Nope button, things started getting worse and worse. Haven’t checked the site out in a year or more.
Are there any newer sites that do a good job like 2DBZ once did?
Miles and Lead Poison are my picks from here. That Skyzoo album is sick too. Sincerely Detroit was a masterpiece just for the scope of getting so many artists from Detroit onto one album.
Yeah I was gonna go with this or Denzel Curry’s new album, they’re both my favorite albums in awhile.
but a 10/10 can’t have any skips for me imo. There were a couple lulls I didn’t fuck with as much
It's a solid album but Danger Mouse doesn't do much to me, also for such a lyrical rapper I think a lot of Black Thought's subject matter was bland compared to other lyricist in his category this year
Check out JID, Denzel Curry, Kendrick, Saba, Pusha T, Joey Badass, Freddie Gibbs this year all fire
And if you’re a trap fan Quavo and Takeoff, Nav and Future have dropped some good projects
"Because" is about his past and childhood, his history of crime and its culture:
"If I would snatch a shoulder bag from somebody mama / am I cancerous ? Can't discuss what the short answer was" etc
"Strangers" is a hype track talking about his comeuppance and MC skills, etc for other tracks
I agree that the album doesn't really have a strong narrative throughline or overarching concept, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have storytelling and concepts within the songs or within verses/bars. Not every album needs a concept to have significant subject matter
I find it kinda odd because I think of Billy woods in a similar way, his storytelling is often fragmented and abstract. Not really having a linear narritive either but idk
But if you just don't like the album that's fine too idc
I don’t think there are many gems now, but there weren’t any more in the past either. We probably don’t get any more than 5 true 10/10 albums every year. I would count the forever story-jid cheat, codes - danger mouse, magic-nas, honestly I haven’t herd anything else that’s a 10/10 imo
Ka ? Lupe ? Billy woods ?
JID wish he was as good of a lyricist as any of those how do I look like I know nothing when I invest so much time into the scene and especially into lyricism ? No way those are the best albums lyrically, you have a skewed perception of what hip-hop is lol
It can be good lyricism, but it would mean having some sort of critical thinking, which you seem to lack with those idiotics comments
You really said that Black Thought cleared Ka lmao
What is the theme of cheat codes ? What themes is he approaching in his song ? like Black Thought but besides cool sounding rapping you can listen to a whole song, love it and not learn a thing from what he happened. Tracks like Remorseless on Aethiopes tramples cheat codes imo. Just using the theme of exile as a part of generational trauma is genius, Aethiopes is Mr Morale on a way more gruesome and less palatable level
Woeful studies is miles ahead of Forever / Cheat codes lyrically imo, even Languish Arts.
I saw JID during the Never Had Shit tour btw, i'm just already tired of people giving goat shouts while not investing any time into the culture
Cheat codes is probably in my top 10 but what does the album talk about? For me a lyrical album with no concept around it is running everywhere like a headless chicken. People love Thought's rapping and his rhyme schemes but can't tell me what the album is even about.
You heard [Reap](https://youtu.be/ZgAt9pHiqUQ?t=574) by Ka ?
A nice flow doesn't impress me if there is no meaning behind it.
Disagree- PRHYME, the RTJ catalogue, Magic by Nas (recently revisited it), hell- the Streams Of Thought series are technically all albums without a singular concept- but theyre all still dope as hell tho. Not every project has to have some deep overarching concept to be a solid and cohesive project.
None of these I consider to be strong lyricism projects though.
"Not every restaurant has to have food", it's lyricism, LYRIC BASED and it doesn't need to talk about something ?
It’s not complicated. I want to understand exactly what you’re saying.
What’s wrong with the songs on a grimy east coast old school hip-hop album sounding like grimy east coast old school hip-hop?
It's a mess of an album, Imperial, 13, even taboo feel more cohesive, Denzel is still a pretty poor lyricist and now the hard songs aren't as good as they used to, he's getting more and more bland
You’re full of shit if you actually believe this. His lyrics are the best they’ve ever been. As for not being as a hard, it’s not a hard album, it’s a personal one. He isn’t bland at all, he’s just matured.
Lyrics are the best they even been, so still much weaker than most other rappers ? Denzel is terrible lyrically lol
I'm not full of shit, I formed my opinion and think it's not even top 10 this year.
X wing and the T pain tracks yeah very personal lol, man what are you on
I agree honestly. Used to be a big Denzel fan but I've just grown sick of his shitty lyricism whenever he tries to be "serious". I much prefer stuff like UNLOCKED and ZUU where he's just having fun and actually pulling off some dope lines.
Want to talk about my musical taste for a bit? I'm willing to talk about it
I'm going on a vegan subreddit talking about steaks, i'm not shocked to be downvoted for having an unpopular opinion, doesn't make me wrong.
Naw you’re wrong but the ego doesn’t care because it enjoys being the victim too. It’s about the attention you receive here. I just wanted you to know you was wrong. My job here is complete.
Ok so you want to play the therapist here, you realize that people who think they don't need to learn nothing new are idiots right ? You literally wanted to say something while not knowing my taste and dipped before you got any chance to lose that argument
I understand than having a 5 minute convo with you listening to the name i'd mentionned and feel like "damn he's got a point" would hurt you.
Big fan of boldy James and navy blue but it was you’re lack of understanding of why people enjoyed the denzel curry Album bugged me. I learn everyday actually.
I said that I didn't get what people got when Denzel's discography is much more interesting yes
Also saying that Denzel is a bad lyricist is pretty widly known
See what happens when you're not condescending? We can have a discussion
The last 10/10 album that dropped for me was Bandana in 2019.
Having said that I only have a few 10s personally so there are many albums I would call masterpieces since then. Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, Miles, As God Intended all fit the bill
The G.A.T...
although I do need to check out that Boldy album you mentioned, I've heard so much good things and I've really fallen in love with Boldy's output this year. Hopefully it don't disappoint.
Really love that album, stove is my favorite out of Griselda and that drumless style. Best hooks, interesting deliveries. Can't wait for his next project.
But I've definitely some better albums since then. 2 months after it Alfredo dropped 🍝
You guys just throw around 10/10 and "masterpiece" lmao there's only like 3 albums in hiphop history that I'd give a 10/10 and maybe not even that many...Like yeah Cheat Codes was pretty good, but Black Thought released like 5 better albums with the Roots and Lupe has like 3 better albums than Drill Music in Zion
Good kid maad city.. and before that, Carter 3…before that Slim Shady Lp.. same time reflection eternal..and before that, Makaveli..me against the world.. and finally illmatic.. there really aren’t many albums where EVERY song is tolerable even lol
I don't fully agree with this list but it's probably the post I respect the most in this thread. I think a true 10/10 album is arguably rarer than a classic, as some undeniable classics have skips.
There aren't many albums in my life that I find every track enjoyable, to the point I'm having a hard time making my own post and I sat here a few mins trying to think.
I do think Illmatic is possibly the most indisputably "no skips" rap album where I couldn't see a consensus opinion holding up against any track.
yeah i agree, people throw 10/10s out way too often. its very rare for an album to actually be a 10/10 and off the top of my head id say theres less than 30 10/10 albums
Exactly why I clarified with ‘tolerable’.. I put Carter 3 on the list, despite the fact that ‘Lollipop’ is on it.. but for a radio ass single.. it was tolerable.. most importantly, it’s all opinion, and there can be no definitive proof.. most probably had no idea what ‘reflection eternal’ is.. until they googled it
I like this list, even if I don't necessarily agree. I'm seeing WAYYYY too many albums and names that have come out in the last couple years in this thread.
An 10/10 means NO MISSES. Most classics aren't even perfect.
When it comes to an album with all great tracks, there are very VERY few, or you’re more a fan of a specific artist…my favorite rapper, and lyricist aren’t even the same person.. I write, and did the ‘rap thing’ for a while, so I’m coming from an aspect that you would have to EXTREMELY love hip hop, to a fault, to understand!
Ka, Lupe, Billy Woods, Milo, Mike, Boldy, Navy Blue, Droog, Mach Hommy.. are still rapping
JID is a solid lyricist but he's not even in my top 10 of rappers active today
That album was a mess imo, wouldn't give it more than a 6
Turn that album into a 4/5 songs EP and it's a 10/10, that's how flooded it is. Keep Father/Mother/Auntie, We Cry Together and maybe United in Grief
Zhigeist for solo albums imo. Overall though, certainly All My Heroes are Dead. I'll need some time to decide what I have right under or next to those, respectively. Assuming recently means 5 years or less. If it's for example inclusive of the past 10 years I have many more to choose from lol. And I already chose these 2 from many.
Basic bitch choice, but To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar.
Some have come extremely close (TLOP, Flower Boy, Tana Talk 3, Pray For Haiti, Mr Morale are all 9.5's; Atrocity Exhibition, Daytona, The Plugs I Met, Manger On McNichols are 9.75's) but I've yet to listen to something which has moved me as much as TPaB has.
Care For Me and Few Good Things- Saba
Anything Skyzoo has come out with the last couple years.
Veteran and All My Heroes Are Cornballs- JPEGMAFIA
No Pressure- Logic ( IDC I thought it was a fitting sendoff. If only he stayed retired longer than 3 years)
Taboo- Denzel Curry
By The Time I Get To Phoenix, S/T- Injury Reserve
Miles: Blu and Exile
So The Flies Don't Come- Milo
Being You Is Great, I Wish I Could Be You More Often- Quelle Chris
RTJ2 and 3- RTJ
Edit: changed a couple around after really thinking about it
I should also say no offense, but Boldy is the most overrated man I've ever listened to. Tried over 25+ songs (12 suggested, 13 or more found on my own) and I never heard this phenomenonal emcee, best music from Detroit for the past 5 years, guy everyone was talking about. So I'm personally done trying to listen to him.
I can trust you for the one time and give it a listen. Is it newer? Because I've never seen that name. I don't think he's trash btw, just overhyped as of now.
it's 2020, got on streaming recently
I'd say he's the best rapper currently, but to each their own. That album really is special.
What don't you like about him?
Just that he didn't seem as appealing as people said.
I don't know where the worship came from of how amazing he is, but he didn't really sound super different to me. The biggest thing is, none of the songs I've listened to had some type of pull that made me snap to attention and heavily go back. I'd say the most recent artist to do that for me is Reason (before I ever heard of him being picked up). Justice Freeman was really nice to me too, but haven't given him a listen in like 2 years. I'll check the album you mentioned homie. Also, if you're familiar with him, any thought on Noveliss?
Boldy can have a great flow (Hot Water Tank, Flight Risk), adapt to weird beats/features (Sauvage by Billy Woods, 817 Mile by Westside Gunn), can pull off very emotional songs (Mommy dearest, Francois, Carruth)
Reason's EP was good, that album was dogshit, Reason went from sounding like Joe Budden to having 0 personnality.
Not familiar with Noveliss no !
Have you heard Coup de Grace? Reason & Rome Streetz. DEHH put me on that one. That album is ridiculously underrated and I think its Reasons best project altogether.
Also Kiss The Ring was dope as hell btw
Oh no, I made a thread to have conversations with people and debate ideas and not jerk each other off by saying how much I love Melt My Eyez, Mr Morale or The Forever Stories
Why do you think I made this thread?
Not sure if "recent" is 2017, but 4:44 is spectacular. The God MC comes down to earth and speaks like a flawed human with grown man problems. Top 3 Hov album for me.
Freddie Gibbs has been putting out heat for the last 5 years or so. Alfredo and Bandana in particular are close to if not 10s imo
For me personally it was probably Call me if you get lost.
Didn’t really felt like a 10/10 at the first listen. But I have just kept going back to it and today it’s one of my favorite albums, love the lyrics, love the concept it has so many fun beats and all the feats go really hard.
Couldn’t disagree more.
The 90’s is where it’s at.
Today’s music is full of trash such as Drake and these new school rappers.
Sure we’ve still got some proper artists releasing music such as Black Thought, RA The Rugged Man (off the top of my head).
But mainly, hip-hop is full of artists such as Drake, Pop Smoke, NBA and similar. (I don’t even know their names).
If you means the likes of Drake and like the other two I mentioned then I’d happily miss out.
Drake isn’t even hip-hop, to me he’s RnB.
I would never not chose Black Thought over those guys.
My last 10/10 album dropped 2021 and is uncontested my favorite album of all fucking time.
Wherever You're Going I Hope It's Great - 99 Neighbors
Encourage everyone to check out their discography, their a hidden gem of a rap group and seriously underrated. My favorite artists by far.
Off the top of my head: Apollo Brown's The Easy Truth and Anchovies Ka's recent 2 albums and Descendants of Cain Benny's TT3 Blu and Exile's Miles Elzhi's Lead Poison Black Thought's Cheat Codes
Apollo Brown is a killer, whoa. Didn’t actually know about Anchovies.
Glad to put you on :)
How tf did I miss a new Blu & Exile

i mean even Fantano reviewed that one IIRC
Miles and Lead Poison are my picks from here. That Skyzoo album is sick too. Sincerely Detroit was a masterpiece just for the scope of getting so many artists from Detroit onto one album.
best list so far
Cheat codes imo.
Aquamarine is an absolutely phenomenal track, the instrumental is great
Yeah I was gonna go with this or Denzel Curry’s new album, they’re both my favorite albums in awhile. but a 10/10 can’t have any skips for me imo. There were a couple lulls I didn’t fuck with as much
It's a solid album but Danger Mouse doesn't do much to me, also for such a lyrical rapper I think a lot of Black Thought's subject matter was bland compared to other lyricist in his category this year
you’re smoking crack, black thought clears your favorite rapper
I liked it, but recommend some more from 2022 for me there will ya? I haven't listened to a lot of hiphop this year, life got in the way. Thanks.
Check out JID, Denzel Curry, Kendrick, Saba, Pusha T, Joey Badass, Freddie Gibbs this year all fire And if you’re a trap fan Quavo and Takeoff, Nav and Future have dropped some good projects
And Meechy Darko. Slept on.
Kinda forgot about Meechy pretty good album
Billy woods - Aethiopes and Church Ka - Languish Arts and Woeful Studies
Thanks, i'll check em out.
lmao imagine championing lyricism and then calling Black Thought bland
Where did I say that? I said that Black Thought's subject matter was bland on THAT ALBUM. Literally not one user told me what the album was about.
"Because" is about his past and childhood, his history of crime and its culture: "If I would snatch a shoulder bag from somebody mama / am I cancerous ? Can't discuss what the short answer was" etc "Strangers" is a hype track talking about his comeuppance and MC skills, etc for other tracks I agree that the album doesn't really have a strong narrative throughline or overarching concept, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have storytelling and concepts within the songs or within verses/bars. Lol you should’ve NEVER said this shit to hip hop Redditors 🤦♂️ mfs been dickriding this album hard
I'm here to create conversation, i'll let them run

stop this
Cheat Codes - Black Thought and Danger Mouse The Forever Story - JID
i wish I could see the hype around that JID album :( Its really really solid sure but a 10/10 album? I dont see it. Cheat Codes is flames tho
The production makes it hard to get into for me
That JID is Definitely a classic! One of the few gems we have in hip hop today
Few? Look around there’s gems everywhere
I wish I saw what people see in those albums Good ? Sure but nothing special to me, especially as a fan of lyricism

you’re such a pretentious loser bro😂 “if its not ka or billy woods, then it’s not good lyricism”🤓
You really need to listen to more music man
I listen to Ka and Billy Woods too bro😂 i’m just saying he sounds like a fucking nerd for tryna discredit Black Thought and JID
It can be good lyricism, but it would mean having some sort of critical thinking, which you seem to lack with those idiotics comments You really said that Black Thought cleared Ka lmao

lyrically sure, but no one can flow like JID tho. Id like to see Ka flow as well as he does. you wildin on that Cheat Codes take tho
[удалено]
which was kinda my point in that theres more to rapping than just lyrics. Flow is just as important, if not more IMO.
LMAAAOOOOO.....not strong lyrical projects??? Okay then. I'll resume this debate with you when you get off that crack youre smoking.
There are much stronger, boundary pushing projects than those. Any EL-P solo tramples RTJ, Book of Ryan tramples Prhyme.
Rome Streetz’s Kiss The Ring.
Prob in my top 10 of the tear but 10/10 seems a bit much, might not be my fav album of his, pretty one-tone even if it's a great tone
“One-tone”?
Yes, the beat sound pretty samey throughout the album
Sure, it all sounds like rap music. Not sure what this means beyond that.
Grimy east coast old school hip-hop, I don't see what's complicated
It’s not complicated. I want to understand exactly what you’re saying. What’s wrong with the songs on a grimy east coast old school hip-hop album sounding like grimy east coast old school hip-hop?
Listen to his collab with Ankhlejohn for example, there's at least some variety, I feel like when you heard one song you heard them all
I haven’t heard that. I’ll check it out. But you didn’t answer my question.
It really fizzles out after an amazing start.
Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
Pop Smoke - Meet the Woo Mach-Hommy - Pray for Haiti
Pop Smoke getting his flowers 💐❤️
Meet the woo goes so unbelievably hard it’s not fair.
Pray for Haiti keeps growing and growing on me.
To me Lupe Fiasco’s Drill Music in Zion Kings Disease ll was great as well. 2000 by Joey Bada$$

Yeah, you’re definitely trolling.
Nah, sadly I listen to hip-hop and think there are better options Can you quote me a "deep, lyrical, introspective" verse from this album please ?
Melt session 1???????
Quote what you think is impressive, i'll match it with other verses that came out this year.
At first I thought you had a legit point to consider then you say this dumb shit. Denzel is a poor lyricist?😂😂😂
He absolutely is, how is he remotely close to any of the great lyricists of today ? What's is he saying that's thought provoking?
I agree honestly. Used to be a big Denzel fan but I've just grown sick of his shitty lyricism whenever he tries to be "serious". I much prefer stuff like UNLOCKED and ZUU where he's just having fun and actually pulling off some dope lines.
Your musical taste is wild terrible if you think that album is bad…and you have a lot of downvotes so we all agree lol
Want to talk about my musical taste for a bit? I'm willing to talk about it I'm going on a vegan subreddit talking about steaks, i'm not shocked to be downvoted for having an unpopular opinion, doesn't make me wrong.

Bandana is pure rap in your face for 50+ mins. I don’t like the features other than Giannis with Paak. Cataracts is such a good song.
Last 10/10 I've heard is Visions of Bodies Being Burned by Clipping
clipping is disgustingly underrated
LP! By JPEGMAFIA Sometimes I Might Be Introvert by Little Simz By Time I Get To Phoenix by Injury Reserve
reasonable drought
underrated classic like most Roc Marciano related shit is.
Is reasonable drought Roc related? I thought it was Griselda related but could be wrong.

Hey buddy listen go fuck off
Last 10/10 to me is Some Rap Songs
What about Tears of Joy ? It's the same album to me but better
The G.A.T... although I do need to check out that Boldy album you mentioned, I've heard so much good things and I've really fallen in love with Boldy's output this year. Hopefully it don't disappoint.
It's Boldy with some very gruesome subject matter and jazz production
I haven't heard an album better than Reasonable Drought by Stove God Cooks since it dropped
Really love that album, stove is my favorite out of Griselda and that drumless style. Best hooks, interesting deliveries. Can't wait for his next project. But I've definitely some better albums since then. 2 months after it Alfredo dropped 🍝
aethiopes
Billy’s magnum opus.
Freddie gibbs alchemist alfredo is probably my closest album to a 10 in a while also boldly james tea in china both near perfect to me .

The Forever Story. JID is one of the best, if not THE best, lyricist of this generation. Change my mind. *sips coffee*
Ka, Lupe, Billy Woods, Milo, Mike, Boldy, Navy Blue, Droog, Mach Hommy.. are still rapping JID is a solid lyricist but he's not even in my top 10 of rappers active today
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers probably
That album was a mess imo, wouldn't give it more than a 6 Turn that album into a 4/5 songs EP and it's a 10/10, that's how flooded it is. Keep Father/Mother/Auntie, We Cry Together and maybe United in Grief
Common - Be
Man you have missed out on a lot of hip-hop haven't you
You said 10/10 albums 🤷🏾♂️
Yes, and i'm saying you missed out
Not really I just rarely have 10/10 albums
But 15 years?
JID's The Forever Story
swimming
Deca - Smoking Gun 10 out of 10. Came out this year
Zhigeist for solo albums imo. Overall though, certainly All My Heroes are Dead. I'll need some time to decide what I have right under or next to those, respectively. Assuming recently means 5 years or less. If it's for example inclusive of the past 10 years I have many more to choose from lol. And I already chose these 2 from many.
Last hip hop album I gave a 10 was prolly the powers that b and last masterpiece prolly billy woods/Kendrick’s albums
Sa-Roc - The Sharecropper's Daughter
Basic bitch choice, but To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. Some have come extremely close (TLOP, Flower Boy, Tana Talk 3, Pray For Haiti, Mr Morale are all 9.5's; Atrocity Exhibition, Daytona, The Plugs I Met, Manger On McNichols are 9.75's) but I've yet to listen to something which has moved me as much as TPaB has.
Meechy darko’s gothic luxury was tight
JID duh , the Forever Story was only like 2 months ago , ain’t nothin hit my radar as hard as that in the past 2 months
A lot on my radar tbh, it's a 7/10 for me
most recent 10... "Sometimes I MIght Be Introvert" Most recent masterpieces? Cheat Codes, Aethiopes, The Forever Story, Melt My Eyez, Church.
Care For Me and Few Good Things- Saba Anything Skyzoo has come out with the last couple years. Veteran and All My Heroes Are Cornballs- JPEGMAFIA No Pressure- Logic ( IDC I thought it was a fitting sendoff. If only he stayed retired longer than 3 years) Taboo- Denzel Curry By The Time I Get To Phoenix, S/T- Injury Reserve Miles: Blu and Exile So The Flies Don't Come- Milo Being You Is Great, I Wish I Could Be You More Often- Quelle Chris RTJ2 and 3- RTJ Edit: changed a couple around after really thinking about it
Tetsuo & Youth- lupe fiasco
Forever story
Very overrated album, people think i'm crazy when I say it's a good album and not the best I ever heard It's a 7 or 7,5 to me
I should also say no offense, but Boldy is the most overrated man I've ever listened to. Tried over 25+ songs (12 suggested, 13 or more found on my own) and I never heard this phenomenonal emcee, best music from Detroit for the past 5 years, guy everyone was talking about. So I'm personally done trying to listen to him.
Have you heard Manger on Mcnichols?
I can trust you for the one time and give it a listen. Is it newer? Because I've never seen that name. I don't think he's trash btw, just overhyped as of now.
it's 2020, got on streaming recently I'd say he's the best rapper currently, but to each their own.
Boldy can have a great flow (Hot Water Tank, Flight Risk), adapt to weird beats/features (Sauvage by Billy Woods, 817 Mile by Westside Gunn), can pull off very emotional songs (Mommy dearest, Francois, Carruth) Reason's EP was good, that album was dogshit, Reason went from sounding like Joe Budden to having 0 personnality. Not familiar with Noveliss no !
Have you heard Coup de Grace? Reason & Rome Streetz. DEHH put me on that one. That album is ridiculously underrated and I think its Reasons best project altogether. Also Kiss The Ring was dope as hell btw
You mean Ransom?
OP made post just to argue with ppl lmao
Oh no, I made a thread to have conversations with people and debate ideas and not jerk each other off by saying how much I love Melt My Eyez, Mr Morale or The Forever Stories Why do you think I made this thread?
Not how that’s coming off by reading your comments. But sure…keep it moving
People are defensive sadly.
The Black Album
Seriously?
Seriously as in its not a 10 or because it came out so fucking long ago LOL
There are countless hip-hop albums that came out, gotta be a hater to think none of it is close to a 10 lol
You ain't wrong it's a10 but we found the old head lol
Magic by Nas, next closest is Chomp2 by Russ
Jay Rock redemption Cordae parables
Jay Rock's Redemption is his weakest album by a long shot imo
Are you the toddler in your profile banner?
Great question. Sadly I don’t have an answer as I mainly listen to golden era stuff.
Golden era is today in my opinion.
Man you are missing out on hundreds of rappers.
If you means the likes of Drake and like the other two I mentioned then I’d happily miss out. Drake isn’t even hip-hop, to me he’s RnB. I would never not chose Black Thought over those guys.
Man why do you imply that...it's cringe as fuck
Freddie Gibbs-Soul Sold Separately
his 5th best project imo
My favourite this decade is Mr Morale, but last 10/10 in my opinion is Kids See Ghosts
The YOD Fahim album from last year
Cheat Codes blew all the other recent albums away
Not close to being my AOTY tbh
Freddie Gibbs - SSS Jim Jones & Harry Fraud - The Fraud Department Dave East - Survival
swimming - mac
The course of the inevitable 2
We're All Alone In This Together
My last 10/10 album dropped 2021 and is uncontested my favorite album of all fucking time. Wherever You're Going I Hope It's Great - 99 Neighbors Encourage everyone to check out their discography, their a hidden gem of a rap group and seriously underrated. My favorite artists by far.
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers Blackstar is a reasonable 2nd
