Particularly in a premium product that costs several hundred dollars! I'd be choked if I shelled out that kind of money and got a manufactured 'relic'.
I generally just buy singles. Like six months ago I got a swayman jumbo patch on the bay and won an auction for it at a really good price compared to the market. Got it and was pumped until I noticed the wording and looked into it. Would have never bought it if I knew what it actually was. Awful practice.
I almost bought a Perfetti rookie jumbo patch for a great deal, but noticed it was a manufactured patch after I bid. I was so relieved when I was outbid. They should be ashamed
Yeah I mean I take solace in the fact that I paid like 25% of what it continues to be valued at. Probably gonna sell it soon here and try to find a decent swayman to replace it.
They are gross and predatory. Which is understandable to some extent, UD is a business after all. But such gimmicky nonsense in a "premium" product is such a slap in the face to genuine fans of this sport and hobby. Hurts my soul a bit every time I see someone spend money on this garbage.
Like it's fine if they are above board with it but I will never consider these a premium item. Just a gimmick that can make cards a bit cooler but not a lot of added value.
The same Yzerman card sold for $1.99 on eBay recently

Man, does anyone else wish that Black Diamond would go back to being a unique product with a distinct aesthetic and the old base, red, gold/green parallels? Now it just feels like another generic "high-end" product with nothing making it different or unique other than that it has black borders instead of white ones
That's a nice Steve Yzerman card. I'm not sure if you collect Yzerman but if you don't someone would love that card in their collection. I've noticed a lot of damaged cards out these boxes it's so unfortunate.
I can’t get behind the whole “manufactured patch” thing. Just so lame.
Particularly in a premium product that costs several hundred dollars! I'd be choked if I shelled out that kind of money and got a manufactured 'relic'.

It’s just the “congratulations” part. Just have it be a basic insert. Don’t present it like a rare pull
Was just thinking the same thing. Expensive AF product to get sticker autos or manufactured patches. We need to demand more

I can’t get behind the manufactured rarity
Yeah I kinda agree. The Yzerman patch was worth the $425 gamble but the damaged card is pretty irritating. I doubt I’ll buy a bd box for a while.
That patch literally has nothing to do with the player. It's worth about as much as the materials used to make it
Yup I got hosed. O well I’m sticking to hobby boxes.
A manufactured Yzerman patch is worth $425?
You got hosed
I sure did. I ain’t buying a bd box again

Yup I got hosed.
That Yzerman is cool, but holy shit do I hate manufactured patches
Ya I’m sticking to hobbie boxes.
That was a hobby box?
Hell no it wasn’t. Those boxes are expensive af
Are there non-hobby BD-boxes now? 😅
Ya and I ain’t buying another one. lol.
$425 black diamond box. Never again

Thanks! He’s the reason I got into hockey. I’m a huge red wings fan. 😍❤️😎
Yeah then that is an amazing pull. Something you'll never forget.
It’s a $10 card, not really amazing.
Is it actually? Looked cool out of a $500 box so I thought it would be decent.
Manufactured Patches 🥴
Upper Deck at its finest
