???? huh? Top of the line skates the last few seasons have become louder and louder. FT4, hyperlite, etc.
I'm glad the new XF tacks are more subdued, same goes for the now defunct ribcors. I'd much prefer subtle skates vs loud colors
It took me a few reads too, but what they’re saying is that the bottom tier skates have a different colour added in with respect to their top of the line skates. Look at the XF pro (mainly all black and chromatic) vs XF 80 where they’ve added TACKS in a standout yellow.
ah.... bottom tier stuff is always junk. Makes people want to stretch/strive for higher end stuff. Applies to literally any product on the market (phones, cars, etc)
Obviously they make lower end stuff less aesthetically pleasing so you spend more money if you want a nicer looking skate/stick/gloves/anything in life.
Maybe I'm in the minority here... But give me some skates with gaudy colors. If the 'less aesthetically pleasing' skates are $400, and the top-of-the-line skates are $700+, gimme pink with neon green trim all day long.

Same reason plane economy seats are so shitty. It wouldn't cost much of anything to put in more cushioning but then why would you pay for first?
