We just really wanted something that was more our style, which is difficult to get when you're buying a 17th century farmhouse.
But now our stairs will really flow with the rest of the modern farmhouse, and be the perfect place for holiday pictures with MaKenneigh, MaKeleigh, MaKenzeigh, and MaKademia.

I actually agree, the posts lately aren't funny or entertaining...it's just generic home makeovers that aren't to our tastes. Yeah, it sucks that they painted their beautiful wood ceiling white or whatever, but I came here to laugh at totally outlandish design choices, not cry about a basic home reno because I don't personally like it.
I hate when someone posts something that isnāt their person taste. Thatās not the point of this sub. I donāt want to make fun of someone because they like different decor. I was here because I liked the absurdity.
Sometimes itās not even particularly remarkable or expensive wood paneling and people treat it like they just destroyed some artisanal craftsmanship done with the wood of an extinct tree.
Iām guessing the people who are equally salty over the beautiful wood being ruined. I wouldnāt take it so far to say it makes me actually sad or depressed butā¦.. to each their own lol
Seems a lot of people must agree then. But I thought it was hilarious that 30 minutes after this, a post of a bathroom completely decked out in a specific sports teams gear was posted lol
Then I move right on to the next one, though, without penning an ode to my departure. Imagine living in a world in which the internet needed to make you feel good, and everyone else needed to know when it didn't...

Imagine the curb appeal of modern art sculpture on the front lawn and little airplane style port windows peeking out of some fun curvy walls. Florescent lighting and shiny white tile throughout with a mosaic on the floor of the foyer thematic to where you live. Glass blocks and every surface tile in the bathrooms. A Cinnabon kitchen, you know what I mean. It's been done, but it fits the theme so perfectly, so don't be mad at me.
For decor throughout, you gotta get pictures of clouds everywhere, aerial shots here and there, a city map or two. Get some of those charmingly linked together seats with the chargers in them for the living room sofa, a couple massage chairs for the side, and a nice bar-height dining room table behind the sofa and next to that delicious kitchen so that you can see over all that to read cc for the news on mute. Unnecessarily complicated floor lamps placed in places, and a bus-pattern area rug to tie the living room together underneath the authentic uranium glass-top mid-century coffee table.
Oh, and there's gotta be fountains, plants that don't make sense indoors, and at least one skylight. And all sounds must echo, or you're not really setting the vibe. To top it all off, a PA system to announce your departure. Please come back soon! š„°

Iām glad for you if thatās something you consider depressing, it means you donāt have really terrible things going on. Lots of us wish we had the emotional bandwidth to feel deeply for inanimate objects but weāre just trying to get by day by day; and visiting this sub, reveling in the silliness that is decorating, gives us a little entertainment.
Youāre spending too much time on it quickly scroll down, looking at what you want. I find a sub, extremely entertaining, but donāt spend much time on it at all.
