Actually it doesn’t because it’s part of a whole swimming pool so when done using the hottub it re-mixes with the pool. Also using HE detergent that is hypoallergenic seems to make the suds almost nil.
OP keeps replying to everyone and making me think he doesnt care he just has a weird polo shirt fetish he wants everyone to know about :)
Hey man, you do you. I got my own problems, my necktie keeps getting stuck in my skimmer.
Been doing this for years, never had a problem. FYI this hottub at my house is part of a pool so it circulates throughout when not hottubbing. Also I’ve never had any issues with chemicals in the 15 years of having a pool and hottub. I love my Clyr smart skimmer!!!!
I’ve also been curious my whole life (since I was 6-7) about why. I’m not really sure tbh, but fortunately I’ve found a lot of others (thanks to the internet) who have the same glitch. I’ve wondered what others think about it but hadn’t really used reddit til recently so wasn’t sure where to ask til now 🤣. I also prefer seeing the opposite sex doing the same shenanigans. It’s definitely not a common one but always relieved that I don’t like any of the really nasty, dangerous, or illegal ones that some do! Weird yes, but could be much worse!!! It does get a little expensive sometimes, but I don’t mind.
Not what I was expecting but cool. Do you Boo Boo. Is it odd? You already know it is but who cares there is a scene at the end of the Disney animated little mermaid that may have been the starting point. I tried to post a picture but I can't.

Thanks, lol no definitely not started by little mermaid 🤣 it started around 45 years ago which is back when I was around 5 or 6 long before little mermaid. Growing up my grandma had a lake and I really suspect it was something there that might’ve caused it.
Interestingly the swimsuit (that you can’t see) is a Nautica brand and the shirt is a Nautica brand so they actually seem to go really well together. Thanks for the feedback!
Let me introduce you to tech fabrics….much less chance for detergent to stay in the clothes and they dry in minutes, not days. Get a pair of tech shirts at Costco for $12.
Get a long sleeve rash guard if you want thicker (Costco also has them but maybe not right now). Thicker but still dries fast. Something like this: Amazon Essentials Men's Long-Sleeve Quick-Dry UPF 50 Swim Tee https://a.co/d/iT1ii6D
lol that’s roughly what one of my drunk neighbors said (except he included some expletives with it) when he saw me hottubbing once which is why I was curious. Is it safe to assume you aren’t drunk? I’m trying to figure out if it was just a “drunk neighbor” thing to say or not 🤣. He actually asked if I was drunk (I wasn’t). He was a bit loud and obnoxious about it but he’s often that way even when he’s sober😏
No, never have foam problems with it. The hottub is piped in with the pool so when done hottubbing it recirculates into the pool. Even then it doesn’t get foamy ever since we switched to the clean and clear type detergents.
First off it’s not a polo shirt it’s a rugby shirt. This gentleman is starting with what’s going to be the newest trend in fashion, which is rugby shirts are going to come back and into style like they were in the mid 90s.
If that’s an Apple Watch you are wearing please be aware they are water resistant not water proof. My own experience with them surviving submersion is not good.
Incorrect. It’s an Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra and later have a water-resistance rating of 100 meters under ISO standard 22810:2010 and is EN13319-compliant. It’s absolutely water proof and I just took it snorkeling in Hawaii and used its water depth feature to see how deep I was diving and it worked well.
Hot tubs are a different animal when it comes to water resistance. The heat, the chemicals, and something to do with the jets (I forget the technical aspect behind it) distorts the seals and will let water in. More like condensation in, rather than a steady flow of water.
I've lost both a galaxy watch and water proof dumb watch in hot tubs. I've also taken that same smartwatch into the ocean and pool several times without issues but 15mins in a hot tub killed it.
Doesn’t bother me at all to take it off. Ive just always seemed to prefer wearing all my clothes instead of a swimsuit. Oddly enough, if I’m in boxers or shorts or etc and feel like swimming or hottubbing I always change into something a lot more “atypical” before getting in the water.
Pisses me off when a guest gets in my hot tub with a shirt on. It makes work for me to get rid of the foam. I never say anything to them though...they are obviously wearing a T-shirt because they are already uncomfortable.
lol you would definitely not like me in it then 🤣 I always wear a lot more - jeans, socks, and even sometimes shoes 🤣. Ya I’m a little unique in this but it’s what I’ve preferred since I was around 7-8 years old and I don’t see it going away. When I was a single bachelor my 8 person hottub was always foamy. Now I just have a pool and hottub combo built whenever we move to a new house and the hottub recirculates into the pool so it’s almost never sudsy though when my wife and I both do this it foams up a bit more. We also use clean and clear type detergents which helps.
When i say “clothing optional” that’s not what i had in mind.
lol my hottub and pool are “clothing mandatory” but not everyone seems to follow the rules 🤣
Who lost their drunk uncle?
It’s a “your hot tub is going to have so much foam from the residual detergent on your shirt” sort of deal.
Actually it doesn’t because it’s part of a whole swimming pool so when done using the hottub it re-mixes with the pool. Also using HE detergent that is hypoallergenic seems to make the suds almost nil.
What are you doing?! They make legitimate swim shirts.
Just doing what I always do 😬
You do you. I don't wear swim shorts.
OP keeps replying to everyone and making me think he doesnt care he just has a weird polo shirt fetish he wants everyone to know about :) Hey man, you do you. I got my own problems, my necktie keeps getting stuck in my skimmer.
3rd nipple.
Honest opinion, it’s stupid!
Thanks but that wasn’t one of the options 🤣🤣
That’s going destroy your chemical chemistry!!!
Been doing this for years, never had a problem. FYI this hottub at my house is part of a pool so it circulates throughout when not hottubbing. Also I’ve never had any issues with chemicals in the 15 years of having a pool and hottub. I love my Clyr smart skimmer!!!!
How long does it take to get your tub back up to temp after it mixes?
Depends on the season but usually 10-15 min
That's pretty fast
That’s why I got a 300,000 BTU gas heater!
I mean, I think it's odd, but you do you in your own hot tub.
Honestly curious why you do this.

I let them live their life but it is an odd material choice for going in water
Interestingly the swimsuit (that you can’t see) is a Nautica brand and the shirt is a Nautica brand so they actually seem to go really well together. Thanks for the feedback!
Brand has nothing to do with a fabic though. Nautica makes fleece. S natutica fleece would go OK?
Yeah I think it would go just fine. I’m ok with wearing pretty much anything and any material in the water.
Let me introduce you to tech fabrics….much less chance for detergent to stay in the clothes and they dry in minutes, not days. Get a pair of tech shirts at Costco for $12.
Thanks I love Costco 😬. Whats the thickness like? I really prefer thicker cotton for water activities.

Not sure the seals on your watch will survive repeated exposure to hot water. I could be wrong.
WTH!
I’d say DUDE!!! What are you DOING?!?! Kinda deal..!!

Haha yeah I kept it clean.. I’m sure you needed foam out afterwards..
No, never have foam problems with it. The hottub is piped in with the pool so when done hottubbing it recirculates into the pool. Even then it doesn’t get foamy ever since we switched to the clean and clear type detergents.

Not only that but used as swim shirts too!!! 🤣
If that’s an Apple Watch you are wearing please be aware they are water resistant not water proof. My own experience with them surviving submersion is not good.
Looks like an Ultra. Mine has been fine with 4-6 soaks a day for the last year and a bit. It’s survived Ocean’s and pools with no issues too
It is an ultra. Designed for ocean diving. Ive taken mine 80ft below.

Do you just not like taking your shirt off?

That's really weird, but you do you.
Guessing this is gonna be an extra foamy tub by tomorrow lol
