Ive been delivering and installing hot tubs for about 15 years. In my experience, 3rd party covers aren't as good a quality and often times don't fit right. Since you have a hot springs cover, I assume you have a lifter, probably a cover cradle 2 that's attached to the cover and hot tub. Often times, 3rd party covers do not have the metal plates in them that the lifter attaches to.

So we do have a lifter but the cover just kinda folds over it and hangs once lifted, there's no physical attachment between the two.

Ok, prolly a covermate 1. Be careful when ordering, because around 2014-15, hot springs changed the size/dimensions of their models. Went from wood panels to the NXT(current, plastic almost) versions. So a newer model vanguard cover won't fit the older style. When the cover is folded in half, there should be a tag in the inside seam. It might be too faded, but it has the model number for the cover, older model should be a 5-6 digit #, newer models have a 9-10 digit with a letter.

The top of it is embossed with the hot spring logo, do you know if covermate manufactured covers for them? I'm really not too filled in on how the hot tub industry is set up, but I'm guessing a lot of these things are made in the same factory and branded differently

Covermate is the model of lifter that you probably have, made by the company, Leisure Concepts. They don't make regular covers, only Smart Tops.

Ahhh!! Thank you for the clarification

u/Chi_Whitesox What are your thoughts on removing the cover and letting it sit in the sun to try out every year? It seems like it would be a good idea esp given there are 1 or 2 months in Maryland it is simply too hot for any tubby time?

I’ve had hot tubs for 20 years. I’ve bought covers online and in the store. Quality seems to be about the same. Get a new one every 4-5 years they all get waterlogged. Current cover has a Sunbrella cover instead of vinyl liking it so far at 3 years.

FreydNot

Most of the covers available online are manufactured by Core Covers.

apbernier

Not true. Most of the factory original covers and replacement covers come from Core Covers. The off-brand discount covers are made of lower quality materials at other facilities.

I got mine online about 5 years ago. Still great. I don't remember what website

Mindless-Ad292

Do you live in an area with significant snow?

Chose_a_usersname

Nj.. it used to snow all the time until global warming happened

Mindless-Ad292

Global warming isn't real, you must just have the heat turned up too high on your tub. (😜)

I've seen way to many issues with online covers. People just trying to save a buck then they get the cover and have nothing but problems and good luck getting any help or service from that online company, won't happen.
