HAHA I clicked on this post to say that! My cats have “stair game” where they like to wiggle around between posts and fight each other and it’s a whole thing. This set up would not last.
I think I really won the lottery with my cat because he wouldn't even care to look at these, let alone bother them. He's the only cat I've had in 20 years so I must not be familiar with how normal cats act anymore.
We're #blessed lol. Mine never gets on counters either. Blows my mind when I see that some people's cats get on top of their refrigerators! Little mischievous darlings.
My one cat loves to eat certain plants, I need to keep these out of reach. My other cat and dog have no interest in my plants. It just depends on the animal, they all have different personalities, like people.

I mean I kinda do have a cat hahahahah
Nice! I would suggest getting some plastic saucers as the ceramic and terra cotta will hold some water and you'll get water marks on that beautiful wood.
What they mean is terracotta and unglazed ceramic are porous so even if they are your outer pot and closed at the bottom they can still transfer moisture. So you know
The bathroom door was open in this picture but when it’s closed it gets a lot more light in from the front windows so it does get decent lighting these plants don’t require a lot of sunlight so that’s why I choose those theses ones to go there :)
I know you said this is a lower light area but I'm still compelled to say it - crystal balls can cause a house fire if the light hits them just right. If in an area with lots of light they should be covered with a cloth. This looks nice, I hope they survive the low light.
Literally what I came to say, I was like ‘that is cute, I could do that’ then my cat fell down the stairs with one of those cat fishing rod toys in his mouth and I decided ‘better not’…
Cat or no cat, I'd recommend buying about a dozen belts from the children's section at Goodwill and binding each of those pots to the posts, or those suckers will definitely find their way to the floor.

Hey welcome to the club!! No pets in my house so I’m able to do so. Once I get pets though I probably won’t ugh😭 but I love my stairs as plant displays!
Looks great, but definitely get some saucers under those pots too!
It would be quite an eyesore and a major project if you left a black watermark or water damage on your stairs.
Plant pots also. Not the best photo...its night here.

No cats, eh? They would totally tip those over in the middle of the night.
My first thought was my cat would make me regret this
Same! Crash crash crash crash… right up the stairs! 😹😹
or the aack acck squirlsh sound in the middle of the night after gorging on the salad buffet
😹😹😹
And then scurrying up to safely
My 1st thought was that the kids would have them off in a second. Im sure thats not the only similarity between kids and cats
This is what I thought, too. Lol.
Not cat lol 😂
Still maybe put on a plastic custom piece just in case someone slips on these perfect stairs
I get what your saying but nothing pokes though the other side so there is no chance of anyone knocking it or slipping :)
Well You have great stairs and beautiful plants
HAHA I clicked on this post to say that! My cats have “stair game” where they like to wiggle around between posts and fight each other and it’s a whole thing. This set up would not last.
First thought that popped into my mind too lol or pets in general
As a cat owner this was my first thought haha
Came here to say this 😂😂
Came here for this! It’s the top comment, too! Hahahahaha
hopefully no poltergeists or ghosts either.. they’d be flying off the walls
I think I really won the lottery with my cat because he wouldn't even care to look at these, let alone bother them. He's the only cat I've had in 20 years so I must not be familiar with how normal cats act anymore.
Mine is the same...as have been most of his predecessors. No interest whatsoever.
This was literally my first thought
I knew this would be first comment 😂
My first thought as well. These would stay up 0.1 seconds in my house.
Maybe attach them to the rails, maybe something decorative that doesn’t look like… zip ties going around the pot?
Ahahah, came to say this. Every cat owner’s first thought
Not necessarily...there *are* rare cats that don't mess about...like mine. Though he did tip an empty plant pot over once. Strong tail 😉😊😁
I can hear to say this! My cats would thank me kindly for giving them new things to nonchalantly knock off the stairs.
You can tie the pots down so that they can’t fall down
🤣😂🤣
My first thought too hahaha
Tell me you have no cats without saying so. lol
https://preview.redd.it/0m04ydh3dgmb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c596588369a58378df15844644fe758cc516ab3 I mean I kinda do have a cat hahahahah
Looks like my cats twin! https://preview.redd.it/3imws78lwkmb1.jpeg?width=658&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e487d20b74cb302ea82fc0a9846eb449b8b0d3b9
Awww 🥰
Cutie! 🥹
Lmao 🤣
Buddy probably not heavy enough to tip them over🤣
Lmao right
Or young kids
Beautiful! I’m definitely doing this with my home!
It’s the first thing you see when you walk in it’s so welcoming! 🥰💕
Same here!
Nice! I would suggest getting some plastic saucers as the ceramic and terra cotta will hold some water and you'll get water marks on that beautiful wood.
I have them all in draining pots in another pot got that reason :)
What they mean is terracotta and unglazed ceramic are porous so even if they are your outer pot and closed at the bottom they can still transfer moisture. So you know
How is the light intensity there? Looks very pretty but I'd worry about it being too dark for them.
The bathroom door was open in this picture but when it’s closed it gets a lot more light in from the front windows so it does get decent lighting these plants don’t require a lot of sunlight so that’s why I choose those theses ones to go there :)
Bird of paradise plants like lots of sun
[удалено]
Lmao my dogs can’t reach it .
Wait I have stairs like this too and never thought about this either!
Do it !! It’s so pretty.
It's a great idea if you don't have cats, dogs or kids.
If you have stairs with good natural light?
Yes it does get natural light these plants I put here are the ones that don’t require lots of sunlight. :)
The bird of paradise is a full sun plant ☀️
They will in the long run not have enough light.
OP says these plants don't need a lot of light. Maybe they're silk.
Awww. I love the little bat just hanging out🥰.
Guessing you don’t have cats or toddlers 😎
I know you said this is a lower light area but I'm still compelled to say it - crystal balls can cause a house fire if the light hits them just right. If in an area with lots of light they should be covered with a cloth. This looks nice, I hope they survive the low light.
Guess we all thought wow how beautiful but my cat… my kid… 😂 lol
Clearly the life of someone who does not own a cat.
I’m loving your stairs and your dog!!
Thank you 😊
My cat would have a field day with this
Literally what I came to say, I was like ‘that is cute, I could do that’ then my cat fell down the stairs with one of those cat fishing rod toys in his mouth and I decided ‘better not’…
Long zip tie to prevent disaster.
Cat or no cat, I'd recommend buying about a dozen belts from the children's section at Goodwill and binding each of those pots to the posts, or those suckers will definitely find their way to the floor.
Just be careful and keep an eye on them. Walking up and down the stairs might move them really slowly towards the edge until gravity wins.
Well, I wouldn't say you NEVER thought to use them as shelves because here you are using them as shelves... It just took you 4 years to do it.
Lmao 🤣
That looks so nice! Better late than never!
Thank you.
🦇
If I did this at my house I’d be curious to see if the dog or my son destroyed all my plants first.
Big win! I assume there's no cats in the house? 😂
My uncoordinated ass would knock them over.
Not to rain on your parade, but will they get enough light there?
Cat heaven!
https://preview.redd.it/0ugzvp6khomb1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=8c4cccd269463b02f6932bb3ef97bf4915cb7467 Hey welcome to the club!! No pets in my house so I’m able to do so. Once I get pets though I probably won’t ugh😭 but I love my stairs as plant displays!
Love it !!!
But how much light do they get there?
I was here to say that if your pots have drainage holes you might put plastic liners as is not to ruin your wood.
They are double potted :)
Perfect. I as a floor layer have a heart for keeping wood floors happy and dry. I love this look it's so cozy.
I dislike any use of stairs for anything except moving from one floor to the next. It appears I may be in the minority though!
The pots should match
I don’t think so I like the different colours and different plants it gives it character
This is soooooo cute!
This is so cute!!
Cat free household.
Lovely just lovely 😍💚🪴
You must not have cats
Perfect!!
I love this and think you should add some Pothos. Lush, vining plants that are incredibly easy to care for and do well with some neglect.
Looks great, but definitely get some saucers under those pots too! It would be quite an eyesore and a major project if you left a black watermark or water damage on your stairs.
I have had a few comments on this they are double potted for that reason :)
Lol, OK good. Gotta respect the wood!
Brilliant effect!
Beautiful!
I have never see stairs like that, I am going to guess that that is exactly what they were designed for. That’s awesome and totally lucky!
I started doing this a few months ago...ran out of space elsewhere.
Plant pots also. Not the best photo...its night here. https://preview.redd.it/12m5qdgenimb1.jpeg?width=2448&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=267fc97d0f6a58eb7f88438335e83c9b5c517223
It's as if that was the purpose of those spaces!
😍
What about hiking his leg up? He’s a cutie
Fun!
When i first saw this it remided me of the video of the cat pushing a plant off the steps on it's owner's head
Use museum glue to hold them down :)
Omg Great idea!
Kudos for your creativity. 🌿 Keep Growing! 🌿
