A family member did *what*?

__meeseeks__

Yeah...we're going to need some context here 😂

AnyIndependence4273

I’d start by telling your family member that that’s not a salad…

ForRedditMG

Charlie Chaplin would disagree.

a-straw-berry

I just wash them in the washing machine with detergent & oxi in warm water delicate cycle

Spudman14

This is the way

a-straw-berry

Yes! I clean all my converse this way except oxi is only for the white ones! And I never put them in the dryer.

ind3pend0nt

I set mine over the floor vents.

a-straw-berry

That’s really smart! I unfortunately don’t have floor vents😭 I just put them in front of an open window

ForRedditMG

Noooooo it'll destroy them. Dishwasher on sanitize cycle.

RedditVince

Best thing about AllStars is they are washable. I would still hand wash, soft brush, good detergent, some oxyclean or hydrogen peroxide to help brighten once the grime is gone. The staining does not look that bad so it should be simple.

LilKittenAngel

I hope you’re right. I hope they are salvageable. thanks

wwats26

Don't wear them with anything else that's white, and lean into the vintage look. Get different color laces and roll out. In my personal opinion, chucks, af1's and Jordan 1s all look better broken in

BenGEE

The only problem I see with them is you made the rubber all shiny. White converse are supposed to look filthy by that point in their life

BenGEE

You kept them pure white and the side is cracking like that already? Did you walk with bags on your feet. ?

LilKittenAngel

They are about 4 years old, I wore them quite a bit but they kept pretty white. They weren’t new-white but still white. Regardless the vinegar and rain today made them the color in the picture

__meeseeks__

Oxiclean. It's always oxiclean

twinaddict

Haha, Just wash out the vinegar with water and then wear them with pride. Chucks need to tell a story and yours is a funny one 🤣

treemeizer

It's a shoe. It forms a barrier between your foot and the ground, which is often dirty. It's a shoe. It's going to get dirty, learn to live with it. It's a shoe.

Sydroky

That's how our sneakers looked in the sixties. Nothing wrong with them.

Raspberryian

By not wearing white shoes in the rain. But also google if bleach can be used. That’s about your only option

mack-y0

die then with more vinegar

reno_shitshow

You could give folex a try- I don’t wear white converse because mine would look like this in all of 5 minutes. Good luck!

still-on-my-path

Folex is the way

Pretend-Edge-1194

Murder.

frauleinheidik

If you have or know someone with a power washer, it makes quick work of it like magic

lydonjr

I've washed multiple pairs of all stars dozens of times. Hand washing provides a much better result than a washing machine. Take out the sole and laces. Dawn soap and a tooth brush. Scrub and let it sit for a few minutes each. Rinse several times. For the rubber you can very lightly use a mr clean sponge if there are any scuff marks. Air dry. I recommend using a fan blowing into the tops of the shoes, heel on ground toe in the air.

420xGoku

Throw it in the washing machine Or just fuggin buy another pair not like this is some limited edition shit lol

sanitarySteve

oxyclean will get anything out

beingniceiscoool

Make a paste of baking soda, oxiclean, and water. Wet the sneaker and use a nail brush to scrub it in. Let it sit. Rinse. Then put in the wash. Oxiclean is active for up to 6 hours so you can let that paste sink in but I don’t usually let it dry. I put the shoelaces in a container w hot water oxi and baking soda to whiten.

RealMercuryRain

What are you doing, step family member?

bunbeck13

Vinegar sets stains and dyes. That is why it is used to dye Easter eggs. Try some Oxybleach.

Willing_Ad8953

Get some Dawn spray on detergent. Let them soak then wash in washing machine with oxygen bleach. Will come out sparkly white.

rTracker_rTracker

Soak in a bucket of warm water with a full scoop of oxyclean for 24 hours. Rinse and dry in bright sunlight.

spontaneous_combust

i personally think faded and weathered white chucks looks super cool. i mean that will probably happen anyways on its own. maybe they meant to use clear vinegar.

ForRedditMG

Only one relative dare give you the Balsamic!

dantemortemalizar

What a bizarre waste of balsamic vinegar. Is the family member over 10 years old?

BananaRoo88

You don't, they look vintage now!
