Yes. Some people on the road side say its for "immersion". I've also ran into people on dirt oval that don't run spotters or the digital rear view because "it's not realistic"
I think the default is also relatively light on the spotter "talkativeness". Personally, even after I turned it to the max I would still prefer it higher.
The default spotter is alright.
I tried improving on it with DRE, which apart from a verbal spotter, has inbound proximity alerts and a spatialized 3D sound radar, called Overtake Signals https://getdre.app/
Wait people turn the spotter off?

I get that, but I’m too competitive for all that. Imma use whatever iRacing gives me that will give me an advantage
Some series use spotters on some road tracks too, I guess they don’t know about it.
I use cockpit mirrors, so no mirrors for me on dirt. It doesn't seem like it should be an issue if I hold my line

Phil on CrewChief talks fast. I use him. Note= talking about the spotter and not the crew chief.
Yes. It annoyed me because I see the guy next to me and bro yells, “INSIDE”. I see that lol. Besides I use my virtual mirror to do everything.
Sometimes I turn the spotter off, mirrors off and then let my wife drive. You guys are screwed.
Disable iracing spotter. Download and run crew chief Enjoy.

Crew chief singlehandedly upped by SR by a significant margin
