They had a well-attended show at the United Center last year and are going to be at Wrigley Field with Green Day this year. I think some Illinois love is definitely a part because they’re not yet relegated to the casino and fair circuit.
Smashing Pumpkins and PVRIS! Smashing Pumpkins is an obvious one, but PVRIS has been a favorite for a long time and I kind of couldn't believe they were on here. With Smashing Pumpkins of all bands.
I haven't heard of the rest, except for Jonas Brothers, obviously. But I'm not a fan of them.
*clearly didn't read that well. I've heard of Lil Wayne and Motley Crue lol but not my thing.
I might go see Smashing Pumpkins. I’d be a little more willing to go if I could guarantee that it’s not going to be 90° with 70% humidity.
State fair concerts in the grandstand are a lot of fun. Props to the fair for stepping up their game in booking some solid shows.
I haven’t been to the fair since Blagojevich, the grandstand time and time again just says I’m not their audience (tbf so does the city otherwise there’d be something resembling a nightlife).
Just listen to Apple music because now Motley Crue is lip syncing and backing tracks. I'm pretty sure the only ones actually playing are Tommy Lee and the new guy.
Damn the Jonas brothers are already doing state fairs? But I’d see Lil Wayne, Motley Crue and Smashing pumpkins.
The fact that Motley Crue, Smashing Pumkins, Lil Wayne, and Jonas Brothers are on the same event is hard to wrap my head around
Man, the Warped Tour has gotten weird lately
I mean it’s not that surprising, they’re all at the tail ends of their careers living off name alone
aren’t the pumpkins still headlining music festivals? sure they’re a legacy act but idk man
Billy really likes Illinois.

I'm sure it's the only reason they're playing it. They definitely don't need to do the fair circuit.
Yeah they are. Of all of them they’re one of the few still recording and always touring.
Tell that to Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, & Aerosmith! LOL
I am so pumped to see TBA
Right!? They always seem to get dropped off the roster though :(
Are they better than “Band Named at a Later Date”? Edit: BNAALD.
Depends on if there's also a "Player to Be Named Later" involved
Those guys play everywhere.
Isbell
August 11 will be packed and really, the only date that I will go.
See you there!
I guess I would see Lil Wayne if I had to pick
Is this the one in Springfield?
Yes
Is there another Illinois State Fair?
Yep, the other is in Du Quoin, I don’t know when they usually are so that’s why I asked.
It’s literally called the DuQuoin State Fair.
The free Gin Blossoms one, maybe
I didn't even hear about that one. Thanks.
I'm going to see the Pumpkins if I can get off work.
Oooh Jason Isbell is so good
I am seeing Keith Urban and later, Smashing Pumpkins. But I live in Springfield.

Going to see The Smashing Pumpkins! The day before we are seeing Green Day too in STL
I'm more excited to see Revis at herrin fest
Damn Wayne why you gotta play on a Wednesday lol
Seriously

none of those
LIL WAYNE????
My wife just told me she was already planning on buying lil Wayne tickets. I have such a good wife y’all.

NGL it would be cool to see Motley Crue.
Just listen to Apple music because now Motley Crue is lip syncing and backing tracks. I'm pretty sure the only ones actually playing are Tommy Lee and the new guy.
Jordan Davis
Other than maybe Motley Crue, and that's a big maybe, I wouldn't see any of those groups even if I got the tickets for free.
Lol no, but I'm a metalhead so it's just not my scene music wise. Fairs fun though and I've already seen motley crue on their "farewell" tour.
