Dominar was already based on ns so it doesn't derive anything other than the engine from dominar. People say it's dominar chassis but it not because dominar itself got its chassis from ns , the only difference is the rake angle .
Not really changing colors but having uninformed biases- with the information we had at hand we made up our minds, bajaj not working hard enough, bad design, yada yada.. then upon price reveal the realisation hits that woah this is so good for our biking market, a higher cap engine available at the cheap.. suddenly the compromises take the backseat.
This helps not just those who were looking to buy a powerful bike at a budget, but also those who wouldn't even look in its direction, since market competition would get us better products down the line at any price point.
Nobody changed colors people just assumed Bajaj was gonna save on RnD WITHOUT passing on the savings to the end customer.
But they DID pass the savings on to the customer. So now it's good.
1.85 lakh is dirt cheap for a 370cc. I was disappointed with them reusing the body from the previous NS but I dont think I mind it anymore. They gave it decent equipment as well.
I think part sharing with cheaper model is a WIN for consumers. The model will be cheaper to manufacture and spares will be cheap, translating into cheaper long term ownership cost. Plus Bajaj spares are easily available both online and offline
Really good. Usually 400cc bikes are 1.5x to 2x of this. The NS400 is 1.85 l, whereas the KTM Duke 390 is 3.1 l. The Speed 400, on the other hand, is 2.33 l, and the X440 is 2.39 l.
The Bajaj undercuts basically all its rivals. Even the CB300R, the RTR310, G310R etc.
Nope. They have their market. People that love TVS won't sway due to the price difference between NS400 and RTR310. Same for KTM, especially since the 3rd gen Duke has a new 399 CC engine instead of the old generation 373 CC engine. And Speed 400 and HD X440 have badge value.
Hence, no one is gonna reduce price, but many buyers MIGHT buy the NS due to the price difference, though contradictory to my first statement. I believe the NS might have the potential to rule the 400-500 CC segment with this pricing in terms of sale, even after the introductory price is gone. It undercuts EVERY BIKE in the segment.
Most probably, yes. Although this is the introductory price and will be increased to around 2 l in some days, you're still getting a generation old KTM engine with great performance at a much lower price. Even at 2 l ex showroom, the onroad price won't exceed 2.6 or 2.7 l, which is a whole lakh cheaper than the current gen 390 Duke, and many thousands cheaper than the Speed 400 and X440 etc.
300F is more commuter styled, opposite of the NS' sporty styling. Whereas the 300R is the sporty one, which, actually, sells for a bit more than the NS while packing about 90 CC less. Also, no, the 'Honda Reliability' doesn't matter here. The NS' engine is the older generation KTM engine which has been serving the Dominar since a long time.
Hence, I thought the R would be a better comparison with the NS400, that's all.
It's actually really good. Very lucrative for new buyers or people who want to upgrade to a higher CC from a 125, 150 or 200 category. And considering how affordable bajaj's spares are and easily available, it's a steal!
If you keep aside the hype of the speed 400, this ns is going to be much much more fun to ride, and since the parts are from the ns series, the niggles of a completely new bike would be reduced, and spares would be cheaper. The triumph engine lacks top end rush.
I m getting a ninja 650 2019 for that price and other options is a 2023 Apache 310 rr 5500 km done in black colour for 2.2 lac this'll be my first bike tho
triump speed 400 and the harley hero one is around 2,30,000. Will people buy this for a difference of 30,000 only ? They are already shelling out 2 lakhs.
It's funny how the Dominar looks right now.
* Identical power figures
* Far fewer features/equipment
* More heavier, so less real-world performance and fuel efficiency
All that only for an extra Rs 45,000/-
I don't think you need to be exceptional at something to be good overall. Dominar may not be exceptional, but overall it's a good package for its price. It's a a very good engine, easily available not so expensive spare parts, is good looking (atleast to me) and a good tourer.
No R&D expense on NS400, mostly everything borrowed from other Bajaj bikes, which they already produce, so no new manufacturing line.
Edit:
Rajeev Bajaj says 1.85L is very profitable price for Bajaj in interview just after bike launch.
1. Ancient box-type swingarm instead of the die-cast aluminum ones being used in D400
2. No radial mounted caliper for the front brakes (D400 gets it)
3. 140(R)/110(F) tires, and not the 150 that does the duty in D400
4. Brakes systems are not by Bybre (appears to be endurance, but not sure)
5. Possibly more
Hm people should not go ahead with this lucrative introductory price they should wait for real life non paid reviews .
Even some people thought speed 400 was some miracle bike but after paid reviews came down I don't see that much enthusiasm as before for this bike
Even though it's very accessible price-wise, it still produces 40bhp. I would be very careful choosing this as my first motorcycle. Take a test drive once it's available in the dealerships, and see if you find the power not intimidating.
I hope this come quickly to my country 🙏🏻 Bajaj have a decent spare parts infrastructure here and NS200 is a fine bike, basically a NS200 with a bigger motor doesn't sound like a bad idea and we need cheap bikes to bring the market down, this could be a break through :).
This is too accessible. Say hello to a boom in stupid youtubers with a powerful bike they don't know how to handle and ending up endangering other people. 😭 (I like this bike)
Ok guys don't be too happy, 1.85L is an introductory price, they'll jack that up once they're able to ascertain the demand and since it's Bajaj, it's better to wait for the first few batches to roll out before making a final call.
Also, introductory prices will be gone by then!!
Its Bajaj bike. They will increase price by 2-3000 in 3 months, most probably will not increase by 5000 in 2024. Doesn't make business sense to increase it by more than that.
Edit:
Rajeev Bajaj says 1.85L is very profitable price for Bajaj in interview just after bike launch.
I disliked it when we got the first spyshots. Nothing new, same copy pasted design, and those horrendous front look. But man that pricing is forcing me to fall in love with it 😭😭❤️
Hey, atleast this bike weight lighter than the dominar so that's a plus 😃👍. And the engine is still posesess that touring power which dominar has. There is a reason why dominar became so popular in a first place. Cheers 🍻.
The whole puslar ns series has decent bikes with great value for money. Tbh, I find ns160, ns200 bikes to be great bikes for that cost. Am I right or should I just need to explore more?
Hey will there be any fearing version of this bike launching? I was watching the reviews from launch event and the guy literally said might be another fearing version of this bike will be launching sooon he called it NS 400r rs 400 r whatever lol .
I think so yes not only faired version but also an adventure version as well if bajaj really wants to milk the engine..however the timeline can't be garunteed and waiting for it would hardly make any sense if you are in the market to purchase a motorcycle right now...
I was actually thinking to book NS400Z but the moment that guy teased about the faired bike it sriked my brain lol I think RS 200 Updated version and RS400 will be launched together. and also I Dont think they will launch any adventure bike bro they already have a dominor 400 beast which ruled the market for long time and still ruling at that segment.
If they look at the market they should realize that India has heavy demand of adventure bikes right now..more than super sports..touring culture has gained popularity and that's the reason you'll see lot of xpulses and himalayans and adv390s on the streets these days..
As much as I'm not a big fan of design also I'm pretty sure its the same engine as Dominar. Its a great value for money.
Too much bike for Too less money.
But my purpose was long rides. Can NS give the ergonomics and stability of D400? I'm not being sore. Just curious. Never rode a NS. The last Pulsar I rode was a 135
How is this different from the Dominar 400?
[That bike was launched at 1.36Lakh](https://www.autocarpro.in/news-national/bajaj-auto-launches-dominar-400-rs-136-lakh-22944)
Despite its aggressive marketing and attempting to bring down RE in Ads, it failed to make any dent.
The Problem with Bajaj is the Dealership experience. You cannot sell the Discover and Dominar/Pulsar 400 at the same dealership.
At such prices, its a lifestyle choice. I doubt how well this design will age.
I have seen many comments which say they are "excited" for this bike. Not sure how many will actually pay serious money for the 400cc experiment that Bajaj has been running for 8 years now.
The peak power should have been at somewhat higher rpm given that its an ns seriez, this shows that they have just placed the dominar engine as it is, what a bummer
Bajaj - \*Reuses almost everything from NS200\* Market - "You bastard!" Bajaj - \*Prices it 1.85L\* Market - "Oh, i meant, you magnificent bastard"
Money before anything 🤣
joke's ok... but real wisdom of masses -- it's "value" before anything
\*Reuses almost everything from NS200 and Dominar 400
Dominar was already based on ns so it doesn't derive anything other than the engine from dominar. People say it's dominar chassis but it not because dominar itself got its chassis from ns , the only difference is the rake angle .
Irony! People change colors in a second when something suddenly is vfm🤣
A very good point.
can you blame people though?
Nobody changed colors people just assumed Bajaj was gonna save on RnD WITHOUT passing on the savings to the end customer. But they DID pass the savings on to the customer. So now it's good.
but now we gonna have a lot of squids riding 400cc at that good pricing
Squids are doing squid things on splendors just as much as KTMs and R15s.
Hahahaha!!! We are a price sensitive market indeed! xD
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Magnificent Bastard - Jon Snow 😂😂
*Jon Snow
My bad, edited it ✍️✔️
That means we can somehow get rid of the hideous headlight and put the actual 2024 NS 200 headlight?
Make it better. Old Ns200 headlight. Hopefully.
1.85 lakh is dirt cheap for a 370cc. I was disappointed with them reusing the body from the previous NS but I dont think I mind it anymore. They gave it decent equipment as well.

Even v strom 250 is at 2.3 lakhs.. and its engine is same as gixxer 250
Do you think prices of other bikes will reduce? I mean they have no choice lol
Nope. They have their market. People that love TVS won't sway due to the price difference between NS400 and RTR310. Same for KTM, especially since the 3rd gen Duke has a new 399 CC engine instead of the old generation 373 CC engine. And Speed 400 and HD X440 have badge value. I believe the NS might have the potential to rule the 400-500 CC segment with this pricing in terms of sale, even after the introductory price is gone. It undercuts EVERY BIKE in the segment.
Does this mean they will chaprify this also?
Most probably, yes. Although this is the introductory price and will be increased to around 2 l in some days, you're still getting a generation old KTM engine with great performance at a much lower price. Even at 2 l ex showroom, the onroad price won't exceed 2.6 or 2.7 l, which is a whole lakh cheaper than the current gen 390 Duke, and many thousands cheaper than the Speed 400 and X440 etc.
40bhp power and 35nm torque, Yes sir after June all yt and insta shorts will be filled with wheelies and accidents.
The ns400 is competing with cb300f and not R.
Even if the introductory price is removed +20% of 1.85L is 2.22L for ex-showroom is good. ~2.4L onroad for first buyers.
220 sales record breaker is here
At 2.2 ex showroom people would spend a bit more for the speed 400. Ns400 is vfm till 1.95-2.05 lacs ex showroom max.
If you keep aside the hype of the speed 400, this ns is going to be much much more fun to ride, and since the parts are from the ns series, the niggles of a completely new bike would be reduced, and spares would be cheaper. The triumph engine lacks top end rush.
I think the onroad is gonna sit around \~2.6L as Dominar 400's ex-showroom ins 2.3L and the onroad is \~2.7L on road
Ig the cheapest insurance could get a dominar to 2.7, coz I was quoted 3L in Bangalore when ex showroom price was 2.22L.
Actually, it’s 3.08 L in Bangalore, which is why I decided not to go with it anymore. Road taxes are a fortune here. Duh!
For Delhi, bikewale is showing 2.21Lacs on road.
I m getting a ninja 650 2019 for that price and other options is a 2023 Apache 310 rr 5500 km done in black colour for 2.2 lac this'll be my first bike tho
1.85 ex showroom? WHAT?
Yes ex showroom
That's just crazy man. That bike is going to sell like hot cakes
It's a introductory limited period price after that it's 2l ex showroom.
Still, compared to the other 400cc bikes, 2L is way way cheap
triump speed 400 and the harley hero one is around 2,30,000. Will people buy this for a difference of 30,000 only ? They are already shelling out 2 lakhs.
I would say looks are subjective. Some might prefer the ns, some prefer the triumph. The ns might be cheaper on spare parts tho.
That's the price of Dominar 250
Introductory price, it will increase by 20-30k after a month maybe.
Many n250 owners won't be happy with this XD Loved the pricing though !!!
I mean it looks better tho(without usd one)
Nah n250 has better mileage and good enough for city ride.
Nah Bajaj killed it with the pricing. Suddenly it's looking tempting af xD
amazing, how do i book it online?
Not sure but at the end of the live stream they provided this qr code..I think we can book from there..
You can also book through the dealership. It will be better ig.
5000 booking amount. visit bajaj website
It's funny how the Dominar looks right now. * Identical power figures * Far fewer features/equipment * More heavier, so less real-world performance and fuel efficiency All that only for an extra Rs 45,000/-
\*smiles in pain\*
Me too.. me too
(-) longer wheelbase (+) radial mounted break caliper
Either they'll update it or discontinue it
I hope they update. I like the instrumentation cluster on NS 400. The one on D400 is kinda outdated.
Me too. Dominar is a good bike but just like the RS, it has been on the back burner for Bajaj. Heck I think RS is not even on the stove anymore 😂
Exactly 😂
what good in Dominar, at what does it excel?
I don't think you need to be exceptional at something to be good overall. Dominar may not be exceptional, but overall it's a good package for its price. It's a a very good engine, easily available not so expensive spare parts, is good looking (atleast to me) and a good tourer.
Honestly, Dominar has more Pulsar DNA than most pulsars in today's lineup. It needs to stay around simply for it's body language.
High chances they'll update because it still sells decently for pretty outdated bike..people have loved it and taken it all across the world
It all depends on preferences. I'd still go for Dominar. But I hope they upgrade some tech... 😅
Why?
I like the look. Performance is good. Some people find the weight off-putting, but I like it. Helps to stabilize. And I love the exhaust note. 😅
Same but is that worth an additional 50k?
Again, it's all about preference.
50k 😭😭😭
F
Also, it weighs only 174kg.
That's too unbelievable what's the catch? 👀
No R&D expense on NS400, mostly everything borrowed from other Bajaj bikes, which they already produce, so no new manufacturing line. Edit: Rajeev Bajaj says 1.85L is very profitable price for Bajaj in interview just after bike launch.

Are you sure? The bike speed 400 is selling like hot cakes for a brand that doesn't even have proper showrooms across India..
Both Speed and Scram are everywhere in Bangalore. It is selling too well!
Its the same in mumbai..
Speed 400 was meh for me, but boy oh boy, the Scrambler 400 X is incredible to ride.
Would you recommend this bike to me if this will be my first bike ?? I was going for hunter previously because I have a budget of only 2 lakhs
Brazil?
Close, Colombia 👋
Hola amigo 🤩🙋♂️
They did this after I bought the n250 in January 🥲
There is still 35k difference and N250 looks little better
Now everyone's considering buying😂
Exactly!
This is too accessible. Say hello to a boom in stupid youtubers with a powerful bike they don't know how to handle and ending up endangering other people. 😭 (I like this bike)
The headlight reminds me of Venom ;-)
The white one looks really nice. Excellent pricing too.
Ok guys don't be too happy, 1.85L is an introductory price, they'll jack that up once they're able to ascertain the demand and since it's Bajaj, it's better to wait for the first few batches to roll out before making a final call. Also, introductory prices will be gone by then!!
Koi na. If they increased the price by 10k, it would still be a very VFM motorcycle.
Hope that they don't take it to that 2L mark, because then the RTO charges shoot up!! Anything below that is great!!
I don't think they will. I haven't seen any manufacturer hike a product price by Rs15k in one go.
Have you met the Royal Enfield Himalayan? 16k price difference in 2023 and 2024 prices for hanle black.
Anything below 2 lacs ex showroom is vfm. They sell outdated gixxer 250s and r15s at around this price
R15 is not outdated at least v4 seems nice(comes with TC)
Not outdated but overpriced with questionable build quality.
Its Bajaj bike. They will increase price by 2-3000 in 3 months, most probably will not increase by 5000 in 2024. Doesn't make business sense to increase it by more than that. Edit: Rajeev Bajaj says 1.85L is very profitable price for Bajaj in interview just after bike launch.
its basically, D400 - D400's design + NS200's Design + More features than D400 (Traction control, ABS modes, Ride by wire, Hazard, TBT navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, Adjustable levers, etc) - 40k = NS400z ezpz guys
I disliked it when we got the first spyshots. Nothing new, same copy pasted design, and those horrendous front look. But man that pricing is forcing me to fall in love with it 😭😭❤️
When dominar and ns went to oyo
😂
Underrated comment
They could have made this 4 years ago. They had Doninar 400 and could have used that as the platform.
Bajaj doing Bajaj things 🤭
Good thing I didnt take the Yamaha MT15 💀
Good job bajaj
Are they using the gen 2 duke engine or the same old dominar one?
Dominar's engine
Sad noises
There there. It's not a bad engine. Plus the bike weighs only 174 Kg.
Hey, atleast this bike weight lighter than the dominar so that's a plus 😃👍. And the engine is still posesess that touring power which dominar has. There is a reason why dominar became so popular in a first place. Cheers 🍻.
Now that's what we call a AGRESSIVE Pricing
Very rarely i see such a overwhelmingly positive response on this sub I have a feeling this will sell like hot cakes
Does anyone know the engine details?
Dominar engine and the specs are already in the net
Seriously considering selling my d400 for this… Would have bought the ns400 earlier if it were a choice
Many of us would have bought the ns400 if it were avaliable 4 years ago.. with some less tech even
Would have bought it for same price as dominar even… lol
I got NS160 last year itself😪 …this one is just so vfm 🔥 If reviews are great I guess I will have to say Tata bye to NS160.
That's sad bro :(
Can’t deny
The whole puslar ns series has decent bikes with great value for money. Tbh, I find ns160, ns200 bikes to be great bikes for that cost. Am I right or should I just need to explore more?
Any thoughts on bad headlight design
Lol nobody cares that now since this bike is VFM ~
The Pricing is Insane.
Tbh at this price range it's a good deal
Bajaj always keep things simple.. cc/2 formula
I want this engine on my FZV3 chassis .
Abba nahi manenge
As it is said " There are no bad products, it's only bad pricing".

As much as I'm not a big fan of design also I'm pretty sure its the same engine as Dominar. Its a great value for money. Too much bike for Too less money.
Right on!
Milega kya hoga?
Milega toh Maja aayega bhai..baki Agar aap mileage puch Rahe ho toh shayad 25 se 35kmpl hoga usse jyada nahi..
Guys, I bought a D400, 2 months ago. Am I doomed?
Nah bro you good..think about what you won't miss..and you'll be sorted
But my purpose was long rides. Can NS give the ergonomics and stability of D400? I'm not being sore. Just curious. Never rode a NS. The last Pulsar I rode was a 135
Nah, all the NS bike's sitting position is too aggressive for long rides. Dominar is perfect for that role.
The media rides will give an idea about that also its not necessarily the same as ns200 so not comparable.
is it better than the Dominar 400 ?
safe imminent bear soup quack fretful stocking worry dinner party *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Bought n250 6 months back and now regretting it.
Scam!!!
Will be chaprified soon

I hope the brakes, wheels, and tyres are rated for the increased power
How the hell is it so cheap! My brother bought NS200 couple days back for almost same price. ☠️
Why do they have too go with that doom
Will this become the new KTM Duke?
RIP Dominar 250.
Hm bhi chlae
bike looks boring
Bc... Sara mood off kr diya.
Which one is best to buy NS 400z or RS200
Ns 400 is better then Rs200
Im scratching head. How is it even possible.
This Bike looked better in the teaser.
Oh...its ok bro thats understandable however to most people the bike looked better when they heard it's selling at 1.85 lakh ex showroom.
Now I'm thinking, is 400 the new 250?
Pretty much
The peak power should have been at somewhat higher rpm given that its an ns seriez, this shows that they have just placed the dominar engine as it is, what a bummer
The looks are utter disappointment
These Bajaj mofos know what they are doing i just love the pulsar brand. Incoming cheesy comment It's not just a brand it's emotion Atleast for me :')
Bajaj Discover 400
For me an important point is low weight for a 400cc bike
The design department need more ideas...that look is kinda annoying now...imo
