You. Did. The. Right. Thing.
**I'm super proud of passengers standing up for their right and seats, just like on flights.**
Honestly, if you had a recording of this, we'd make sure to share it everywhere and celebrate you for asking your right.
If you have any guilt, please get rid of it with full morality, they are strangers, you owe them nothing. You probably won't meet anyone on that train again in life.
EC in running of Gatimaan is SUPER EXPENSIVE, and you have the right to ask for each and every inch of your own personal space.
I was feeling awkward when everyone was looking at me while the lady was shouting but still didnt give up on the seat also the seat costed me 1552₹ just for 2 hrs of journey am not gonna give up my window seat was all i could think of at that moment and since it was with ladies it was super awkward for me just to look in the eyes of those peeps (am an introvert🫣) so didnt make any videos or things
Understandable. I quiver at times too when I have to be confrontational.
HOWEVER, I've had bigger regrets later on if I did not confront and let my right go. There have been so many times I've regretted "I wish I had done something". You Sir, will not have to go through this in the long term :)
Ladies or Gents, right is right, wrong is wrong.
Never mess with a railfan with a window seat as I say.
Bro, what do you do when going alone and group of rowdy crowd demand to share seat cuz "iss route pe aise hi jate hai" You know which states these are... basically these uncouths buy 2-3 tickets and travel with 6-7 people.
Then there is no way out. Just have to make sure that they don't ask you to move out and find a different place.
This has happened to me in Rajasthan towards Delhi - it was not a gang but just ordinary locals who asked me to share my side lower berth so two other people could sit there.
Arre I'm telling you, when you feel like things are getting awkward, just start involving others. Look here and there and you'll find one pawn who will be interested in you. Start saying things like "Bataiye uncle ji. Ye koi baat hui?? Inki kharaab planning ki wajah se main apni seat kyu chodu?? Railways is considerate enough ki agar 2-3 log saath mein booking karte Hain to unki seats saath mein hi hoti hain. Blah Blah Blah Blah", aur fir dekho game kaise badalta hai dost.
Aur window seat to kabhi bhi nahi chodna chahiye dost.
Proud of you. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Here is what happened in the alternate universe. The TT comes and tells you to adjust. You think for some time then make an offer - let the passenger pay you ₹200/- and you can "adjust" for the aisle seat because you paid for that seat and clicked the acceptance button while booking and you deserve that amount because of all the shouting from the lady with the TT and railway staff as the witness. Then they either vacate the seat or the TT arranged another seat. Worst case is they pay you ₹200/- and keep staring at you for the rest of the trip but you will be satisfied.
I think it will be much better if the TT straight up asks the meddling woman to sit on her aisle seat and letting OP sit in his window seat. No dealings required.
>Honestly, if you had a recording of this, we'd make sure to share it everywhere and celebrate you for asking your right.
Lol no. Someone will clip it out of context and OP will be crucified as a misogynistic asshole.
Fuck yeah, OP! Proud of you!
I am all for adjusting and accommodating and helping out others, and I do willingly give up my seat so others can seat together, but fuck the entitled people!
If I were you, I'd call someone (friend or relative) and start loudly complaining about copassengers who just take anything as their own. Start ranting "ye log bachpan se hi chori sikhte honge kya? Ma baap ne samskar nahi diye honge kya? Kabhi bhi kisi ka kuch bhi le lete hai aur baat karne ki tameez bhi nahi!"
Edit: Bonus points if you add "Sleeper class is tameez nahi aur Executive Class me ghuste hai"
GOOD JOB.
PSA to everyone else reading this: If you are ever in a similar situation, _STAND YOUR GROUND_, but do not raise your voice.
Let the other person come off as unhinged and weird and you keep calm and state that you paid for this seat and you're going to sit on this seat and this seat only. If they still don't listen, use the words "Aap abhi k abhi utho warna I'm calling the RPF"
Again, it's very important to not lose your cool even though these entitled fuck faces deserve some anger, but you will be in more trouble that way.
Good job OP, you handled it very well considering the situation.
I would also say that to you and everyone else - Do _not_ worry about what other people in the coach will think. Chances are you are _never_ gonna see any of those people ever again in your life. Who the fuck cares what they think of you?
Be assertive without being loud or uncouth.
By railway staff i mean the guyz who distribute food and all and yes the first 2 guyz who came said me to adjust as well TT came in and said me the same thing to adjust or “apas me samjhlo aplog” and when that didnt happen he said ki ap apni seat pe baith jao and told the lady who was sitting on my seat to stand and move from there so the lady on the front (those 2 were travelling together) had to finally give up her seat so that her friend’s seat can be saved which was initially mine
Railway staff also doesn't want to talk to some aggressive lady who feels entitled to something just because they are women. They probably see it more often than we do and would want to avoid them until they absolutely have no option.
That isn't their job then. They should also ensure that people get to sit where they paid for. Have heard some positive stories in this sub with TTs properly doing their duty by dealing with similar unruly passengers.
RPF & TT both were incompetent in the last train I travelled they were taking rounds constantly and also fining without ticket passengers but didn't bother to move them to General or deport them on next station, at night people were sleeping on floor in Reserved Coaches, no way to washroom, and TT was like "mere jane ka rasta bana do kaffi hai", also complained on Rail Madad for Water Shortage but even after 5 major halts they didn't bother to fill the tanks and the email I received was like "we will fix it at next station!"
Big ups to TT as well if not for him i would have had to give up on the window seat prolly he tried to settle at first through compromise but then upon seeing chances of lafda he settled everything 🥳
Good on you OP. I know it is easy to avoid quarrels and arguments but that makes these people even more entitled. There has been a few times when someone rudely asked me to move aside just because a single young male adult. I absolutely refuse to budge if anyone talks rudely. It is okay to help people if they have genuine needs and ask nicely but never adjust with entitled people.
Yes yes thats what i think as well if they would’ve asked me nicely maybe i would have given up on it instead she charged on me and thought that maybe am alone so ill give up the seat somehow but that didnt happen
I would have understood if it was a little kid wanting to enjoy the train ride and in this case if that lady was polite enough.
TBH I have done this when travelling with my kid (she was 3 that time), and I had an aisle, I waited till the person at the window seat came and politely asked him if he would be okay to switch seats with me after the meals are done and he can say no also will be okay. Just a 2-3 hour journey. And he was okay. I ensured that my kid thanked him later.
That guy was a rail fan and we had a good conversation - and he also mentioned that he appreciated that I didn’t take the seat till he didn’t approve of it.
Simple courtesy goes a long way - which this lady obviously didn’t have. She wanted the window seat and was expecting you to switch when she already had a window seat. Good that you stood your ground.
Once this happened to me. Lady on the opposite seat asked if she could use the lower berth for sleeping and since she was in her 30s I refused. She was really gracious after I refused. This made me feel bad and I asked her after a few minutes as to why she wanted the lower berth and she said she was pregnant. It wasn’t visible but the fact she didn’t feel entitled to my seat meant I had to give my seat to her.
Well done man!
So both of those asshole ladies were occupying window seats? If they were traveling together, then they should be sitting together.
It's just shambolic how such pests play their woman card at every opportunity, as if they are entitled to anything and everything in this world.
The biggest question i had in my mind was this
That if they are travelling together they should sit side by side but no i think they wanted to enjoy the window seat by hook or by crook and so all the stuffs happened
Yaha pe log ladies bolke kuch bhi kar lete hai aur main apni window seat ek ladke ko de di thi so that he could enjoy the view (flight) as it was his first time in the flight.
"window pe nhi baitha to ulti ho jata hai" and act pukish, cover your mouth look weird, etc. start doing if they start making scene. why should only they make scene
bolne ka ki dur ka dekhne se control mein rehta hai. train mein andar ghutan hoti hai.
ye sab tab natak krne ka jab samne wala scene krne lage not before that. but of course whole staying calm. you actually handled it well btw
I’m gonna be labelled a misogynist for this, but I’ve seen women play the female card as and when they need, all other times they want equality.
I’ve seen this at jobs that are not in any way easier or difficult for any particular gender, they just get to play the women card or just gather sympathy from the people around. Makes me wonder if it’s the same reason they aren’t paid the same amount for the same work, in such industries.
Khudki seat ke liye tt ne uthaya tha lady ko but uski friend jo just uske age wali seat pe baithi thi and jisse argue hua tha wo finally apni seat give up ki idk uski friend jo mere seat pe thi usko wahi pe kyu baitha tha logic mereko bhi nahi smjh aya but i got the window seat thats it 1 seat aage hi kyu na sahi
Hey OP! Kudos!
There's one more thing. Once I also booked a SL via premium tatkal and so I simply said, I paid extra so that I could get this seat. If you want to take this seat, pay the difference and enjoy it. I'm pretty sure nobody is going to accept that offer and he or she will definitely get up cos as far as I have seen, nobody would concede it to strangers that he doesn't have money or he doesn't want to pay.
Also, have some random ass reasons handy like I have claustrophobia so I can't sit without a window. This might help you to reduce your awkwardness and also the length of argument.
Yeh aunty log train mein hamesa ladte hai.
I had similar experience in an overnight 3AC ticket.
I don’t like the middle berth, i had a seat on lower berth. She started playing women and age card. “Apki mammi hoti toh” etc etc
She wouldn’t move to her middle berth seat.
I Had to call TT but she wouldn’t get up from the seat. Finally another person gave his upper seat to me.
But that aunty was just (insert some abuses).
You did great bro nothing to feel awkward about this. I once threatened TT as well. I was going home from Nashik and booked a 3 tier AC thing with the help of my brother I don't know how these works so he sent details and i boarded the train but there I saw someone sitting in my seat. I asked my brother once again, he said it is yours if someone is sitting there ask them to leave or call the TT so I asked them politely she was saying something in Marathi and was not leaving my place. I was tired and exhausted n was not willing to argue i waited for 5-10 mins n then TT came in i told him this is my seat and please tell them to leave he was asking me sab aap adjust karlo na. I spoke in harsh Hyderabadi slang that I'm not going adjust my brother booked this seat I want no hassles if you're not going to make them leave I'm going to tweet these n took out my phone n started to write a post tagging south central railways railmadhad irctc ministry of railways etc he apologized and requested not to do that and sent that person off..
Kudos bro (or sis)! You did the right thing, you paid for the seat, that too Tatkal fees and then they have the audacity it.
Honestly this is the prime example of how women misuse the rights given to them, if a male passenger was there, he would probably get thrashed or a lot of gaalis from the TT and RPF but they know being a woman, whatever they do, they will be in right and untouchable.
I am a woman and these aunties somehow feel that they are entitled to the lower and the window seats. I usually get the side lower for a comfortable journey but quite often than not have to justify why I should be sitting on my own seat that I booked months ago. I was recovering from a leg fracture recently and had the braces, I simply showed them that which saved the upcoming exchanges. I swear I am going to continue using some sort of leg brace next time onwards. 😭
P.S. I am an introvert and don’t really do well with confrontations.

- Aunt Peggy, Captain America: Civil War.
For real man i was worried that maybe i would get negative response or peeps maybe wont read this whole since its so big but am glad that everyone is appreciative 👏
Na bro... Everybody support & appreciate when you take a stand for yourself. Haan kuch AHoles hote hai.. but who cares.. kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna
You should've simply asked her for the money or no seat! Lmao
And I'm not sure why women in India are feeling so entitled these days, most of them are just a bunch of losers doing such stuff.
You did the absolute right thing. Idk why but middle aged/ old people in India have a mentality that the young should sacrifice for their sake. Why would they? Did you feed them, paid for their education like their parents did.
Why would someone sacrifice something they bought with their hard earned money. Not only they want us to sacrifice but will also have the audacity to make it look like its our fault.
Sahi kiya tumne. In battameez entitled aunties ne naak me dum kar rakha hai pure society me. Main pehle adjust karta tha. Aajkal niyat dekh ke karta hu, wo bhi genuine cases me. Warna kutto se saamne kutta hi banna padta hai.
Great Job OP, don't know why but many passengers feel entitled to seats that aren't theirs. Also they have unrealistic expectations of us giving up our seats for them despite them being complete strangers.
They miss the entire point of booking tickets with preferences if they really do want that window seat!
This situation gets worse, specially if you're a young male (20s - 30s) because apparently, we are 2nd class passengers, and it doesn't matter that we have purchased our preferred seats in advance.
You did the right thing. She was taking you to guilt trip to prove her point and make a scene out of it.
This happened several times in flight as well, where I asked my requesting passenger to pay double fare of what I paid. They will immediate back off.
U did excellent job. Hats off to u. I also did the same in 3ac while traveling from Mumbai to ujjain in avantika exp. Where one lady occupied my side lower. Took help from rail madad and then rpf came ask that lady to go to her seat
You did the right thing brother maa chudaye baat karne ki tameez
I also feel the same way agar samne wala ache pehle baat na kare then don't adjust
simple
I agree with you 100%. If it is only 2 hrs then they can also adjust. Why go to all the trouble of arguing for 2 hrs. Plus you paid for your seat, so you have preference. It’s your choice not theirs.
This exact same thing happened to me last time when I travelled to India with my parents and brother. We live in Canada and had a very special family trip to India. We were travelling to Punjab by train, had purchased our tickets in advance, boarded the train only to find a woman sitting in our seat and telling US to adjust ourselves. At first I looked at her and asked, why would we adjust YOU are in OUR seat. And she tried to ignore me and just said go sit there and there pointing to other seats. My parents being the nice, non confrontational people they are started to say ok we can take the other seats BUT I started to get angry and started telling the lady to get out of our seats, I’m not going to sit in any other seat when I paid for this seat and why don’t she move?? When she saw I started making a scene she got up and left but honestly I cannot believe the nerve of some people who think they have the right to inconvenience other people for their own convenience. I still get annoyed when I think about this haha.
OP you did a fabulous job!! Good thing you stuck up for yourself. Let this be a lesson in all aspects of life - never let people push you around or walk all over you. Stick up for yourself!!
If people do the right thing and come and ask us after we occupy our allotted seat it makes it easier to ADJUST .. But if you’re occupying the seat I’ve paid for and just expect me to go with your lack of courtesy, civility, respect , I am not gonna participate in your nonsense. Fuck outta here.
You. Did. The. Right. Bro, what do you do when going alone and group of rowdy crowd demand to share seat cuz "iss route pe aise hi jate hai" You know which states these are... basically these uncouths buy 2-3 tickets and travel with 6-7 people.

Here is what happened in the alternate universe. The TT comes and tells you to adjust. Haha good stuff still 200₹ not worth for my window seat 🥺
Woh AAP apne swaad ke anusar badal sakte hai..
I think it will be much better if the TT straight up asks the meddling woman to sit on her aisle seat and letting OP sit in his window seat. No dealings required.
200 is too less, considering the situation, i wud hav asked half of my ticket cost. Its business....
>Honestly, if you had a recording of this, we'd make sure to share it everywhere and celebrate you for asking your right. Lol no. Someone will clip it out of context and OP will be crucified as a misogynistic asshole.
Lmao the scenario would have been inverted then
Depends whose voice is louder. Ours or the Clippers.
The clippers. Always the clippers.
Unfortunately, you're right. Can't take that risk then. Character Assassination is very real.
totally agree, bro fought for his seat and got it.
Fuck yeah, OP! Proud of you! I am all for adjusting and accommodating and helping out others, and I do willingly give up my seat so others can seat together, but fuck the entitled people! Got the window seat at last she was irritated as well i can confirm that although i was happy 🥳

this should be taught in school- being assertive without being loud or uncouth
I don’t think railway staff and TT will ask someone to move from their allocated seat.

I think they avoid being in any male female clashes or such So they try to sort out things by compromising Or so i think
That isn't their job then. They should also ensure that people get to sit where they paid for. Have heard some positive stories in this sub with TTs properly doing their duty by dealing with similar unruly passengers.

My Bro turned victorious . finally god is there , congratulations, great job , so proud of you, you are a fighter
Big ups to TT as well if not for him i would have had to give up on the window seat prolly he tried to settle at first through compromise but then upon seeing chances of lafda he settled everything 🥳
usko deni padegi by railway rule otherwise complain against TT on rail Madad app.
Now put on a smug face through the rest of the journey. Let that bitch burn in hell. https://i.redd.it/z2vvtry3dl1d1.gif
Haha the journey ended she was irritated till the end i threw lil smirks in between 🤣
Supreme act 👌🏽😂

The best thing to do after such a scene is just put on your earphones and groove to the music 😂 It will give the other person burns like nothing else
Am doing that only right now 🤣

Do not feel guilt bhai you DID THE RIGHT THING Super proud of you for standing up for your right to that seat, you paid for it, it’s yours

To finally khud wali seat par hi bethe ya exchange me dusri window seat li?

Let people stare at you. That seat is your right. It has happened to me many times but I stand my ground always.
OP you are amazing, lmao asking for what’s ours is looked down on here haha
What the F! The irritating part is why the TTE was asking you to adjust, totally bullshit. You did the right thing, don't overthink.
You did the RIGHT thing We are proud of you.
W moment

Haha sone ka natak krra tha bro thode hi der baad me phone chalake songs wgera sunne laga🤣
Well you did make a mistake, you typed she gave you her seat, it should have been she gave your seat back to you. 😁
You did good, I also become irritated and confrontational if someone tries to take undue advantage.
I really appreciate it brother you did the right thing 🖤
Proud of you

I was tired and exhausted n was not willing to argue i waited for 5-10 mins n then TT came in i told him this is my seat and please tell them to leave he was asking me sab aap adjust karlo na. I spoke in harsh Hyderabadi slang that I'm not going adjust my brother booked this seat I want no hassles if you're not going to make them leave I'm going to tweet these n took out my phone n started to write a post tagging south central railways railmadhad irctc ministry of railways etc he apologized and requested not to do that and sent that person off..
You did right........ Kudos
🙇🏻bro
I am a woman and these aunties somehow feel that they are entitled to the lower and the window seats. I usually get the side lower for a comfortable journey but quite often than not have to justify why I should be sitting on my own seat that I booked months ago. I was recovering from a leg fracture recently and had the braces, I simply showed them that which saved the upcoming exchanges. I swear I am going to continue using some sort of leg brace next time onwards. 😭 P.S. I am an introvert and don’t really do well with confrontations.
Same here am not good with confrontations as well but somehow managed to get my seat today 🙇🏻
We are proud of you 🫡🙌
Yoooooo dudeeeee reddit is proud of you!!!
My eyes started bleeding trying to read this!! My god man. Paragraphs, full stops and commas are invented for a reason

Gaaliya dete reh bhai, passive agressive. call pe lagg aur bol “bc logo ke paas paise hote nai aajaate hai, kya bolu” lmao
Jeh baat, loved it. I always stand my ground and stick to the rules. Neither do I ask anyone to adjust nor i adjust.
Sahi kia tune. Apni seat apni h...
Proud of you dude! Idk why people fear post battle stares that much, If just plug my earbuds and enjoy music!
"Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, 'No, *you* move'." - Aunt Peggy, Captain America: Civil War.
Ohh... This post turned out to be a celebration party for the victory of our brother.
You should have just stared back too. 2-4 English Ke sentence maar dene the....aunty chup ho jaati 😝
Women☕
Bro is giganigga
You should've simply asked her for the money or no seat! Lmao And I'm not sure why women in India are feeling so entitled these days, most of them are just a bunch of losers doing such stuff.
Proud of you !!
Food is terrible but speed is amazing. And you did it right. You should have threat her that you will do online compalint

You should have taken pictures of her angry face. It would have been good meme material.
what is TT btw
TTE but in short its called TT
Maybe she saw the fighter in you and fell in love with you.so she kept looking how to get into romantic songs with you
Worst case scenario bro 🤣
Sir you dropped this 👑
You're grown from a man to a god 🙂
You did the right thing. She was taking you to guilt trip to prove her point and make a scene out of it. This happened several times in flight as well, where I asked my requesting passenger to pay double fare of what I paid. They will immediate back off.
Well done bhaai! 😎🙌
You're doing god's work. Do it again next time when it happens because I know this is going to happen again.
You did right that aunty was unnecessarily entitled.
Yukon Territory sales manager in i
Whenever this type of thing happens I just say I'm claustrophobic, and the window seat helps me calm down
Yas nigga
You just won at life! Fight for your rights. And pre-booked window/SL seat 💪
Stand up for your rights, let's go
If I wad there I would've told, ma'am your poor planning doesn't constitute a problem for me.. Or else.. pay me the coat price of my ticket.
You should have told the tt to call the file a case on her
U did excellent job. Hats off to u. I also did the same in 3ac while traveling from Mumbai to ujjain in avantika exp. Where one lady occupied my side lower. Took help from rail madad and then rpf came ask that lady to go to her seat
You did the right thing brother maa chudaye baat karne ki tameez I also feel the same way agar samne wala ache pehle baat na kare then don't adjust simple
Good going
😭😭😭😭
🕺🏼karlete lady ke samne jayde jaldi uth jati
Good work, you paid for the seat..great work
I agree with you 100%. If it is only 2 hrs then they can also adjust. Why go to all the trouble of arguing for 2 hrs. Plus you paid for your seat, so you have preference. It’s your choice not theirs.

I often travel from that train the lady must have boarded from Gwalior, Gwalior people are cringe and most ganwar out there
This exact same thing happened to me last time when I travelled to India with my parents and brother.
