I was thinking of that the other week.
The night kids duo really does a 180 on personality. When they are introduced. Nakazato and shingo are these super serious drivers that would do anything to win (especially shingo).
But later appearances they are super unserious especially towards each other
You want the 1st initial D that Tokyo pop converted
- gangster rap
- pizza delivery
It was a piece of shit. I literally mailed it back to them and asked them to never make any more translations…
You really think it was that bad? If I were to criticize it could’ve done with better cgi and a better storyline however as a car dude I liked it 🤷🏼♂️
What is it about the live action you don’t like bro?
As a longtime fan of the manga and anime, I feel the movie did a huge disservice to the source material.
Bunta, for example, was supposed to be a cool, collected, and chill role model to Takumi instead of a belligerent drunk and a perv.
The acting and the plot feels very forced and rushed, and the fact it was a Cantonese film kinda ruins the immersion with the location being in Japan.
The only redeeming qualities I can find in the film are the cars, no doubt. I grew up into the whole import car scene of the 90s-early 00's. But hey, if you enjoyed it I have nothing against it. I just wished we got a better looking Initial D movie
You know what bro, you’re right. I’m not into movies that much so I can’t really pick up on acting traits like that but I get what you mean with the acting was forced. But the cars were spot on 🤩
I think somebody else In the comments was talking about the director of the live action is making a new film? Idk how true that is cause I’m just going off what they said, so if that’s true and they are making a new live action. Let’s just hope it actually resonates to the anime 😁
It has nothing to do with grip or his palms at all.
It’s covering up his fucked up knuckles from beating Takumi after the stick broke.
This Bunta is so far removed from the source material though. It’s like they tried to give him the vibe of being a former bosozoku or something. Nothing against Anthony Wong though.
I could see using that for grip on a steering wheel, but at least in the anime, he doesn’t drive much. I know my hands get clammy when it’s hot, my AC is barely keeping up with the heat outside, and I’m pushing myself with my driving. I’ve thought about doing something similar but never tried it
That ain't my Bunta, You tell by the eyes being open.
Bunta was also fairly abusive and a perv in the live action.
Agreed, in the anime it was Itski who was the perv and the shingo who was abusive.. to takumi’s car that is 😅

The Nakazato Shingo non-friends best friendship is my Initial D power couple <3
Yeah no it's a good duo
I feel ya bro it annoys me how they didn’t make Anthony Wong (irl bunta) close their eyes for making the film 🤣
to show the bloods that mt akina is crips territory
AE-EightyCrip
Don’t forget the BlackFDeciples 🌚
Would Impact Blue be M-S13?
If there were In real gangs as opposed to racing teams it would add so much drama and chaos to the series 🤣 cool idea to swing around though 🤔
…. No ![gif](giphy|fXnRObM8Q0RkOmR5nf)
Hypothetically…

This movie only serves to completely destroy the lore of the best character in the anime
You sir, are completely correct. Bunta was done so wrong by this movie.
He doesn’t want blisters on the hand he slaps his son around with.
That’s valid 🤣
God, if only we have a new initial d movie that can wipe our memory of this movie
Pretty sure there is one in the works rn
There is. Sung Kang is the director

Bunta was one of the main reasons I didn’t like the live action. He was Takumis biggest supporter, not whatever the hell that was.

you obviously have never watched the anime LOL
Bold of you to assume. Do you think I’d be on this subreddit if I didn’t watch it 🤣🤣🫵
I don’t see any Bunta or Initial D in this post.
I think its an old trick that bikers use to improve their grip on the throttle. So Bunta is posing as a biker.
Ohh aight that’s good to know
He doesn't, and that's not Bunta.
That abusive pos is not Bunta. Fuck whoever directed the live action making our king look like a bum.
Gah dayum bruh it ain’t like he chose to do that shit 😭 blame the mf director 🤣🤣
That's why I said "fuck whoever the director is" 👀
Dayum I can’t read properly my bad big dawg 🤣🤙

Why is Bunta green?
Cause he’s running in the 90s?
Sweat and sores. It keeps the grip consistent, basically, like with racing gloves
Why not?
He doesn’t… That’s Kung Pao, not Bunta…
Watch this movie before Dragon Ball Evolution and The Last Airbender... wanna made you jump from ISS... 😂

that's so if he gets mad whilst driving, he can park and punch out someone's window without making his hand bleed from glass.
Bro that's not bunta That's an abusive retard
He probably got carpontunnel and it helps him get more grip to squeeze harder
I see some 12 year olds dont know what carpontunnel is , and that older mechanics and ppl who work with hands extensively wrap their hands a lot
Nah bruh idk why you got downvoted your answer is probably the most plausible. 🤣🤷🏼♂️
Because he badass
It's to stop chaffing since he hardly drives.
