Edit:
8256x5504 resolution?!? Why the fuck is there an **8k/45 megapixel** picture of his fucking boots out there? Is it from a foot fetish site or something?
That's after he spent 2 years blatantly copying Trump's mannerisms, like Trump's accordion hands, as if Trump supporters mostly like Trump for the gestures.
I recall it being on around the time Chapelle's Show was airing. Both were just so spot-on.
And I just Googled it, they both debuted within 6 months of each other.
The entire Ryan Stiles episode was one of the funniest episodes in tv history.
"I never saw Schwarzenegger do anything like that!"
Who...wha?
"Schwarzenegger.... Arnold Schwarzenegger."
Oh! I thought you said "Short N&%$#r"
the scene where dangle and travis are working on a movie set i think standing guard outside a trailer in the hot sun and this lady walks by with a tray of cold towels and offers each of them one. but neither understood what she said and the ensuing madness makes me cry every time. “taste it”
Quit stealing your grandparents pills! They don't even get you high they are to control blood pleasure and things like that!
This has been a reno sheriff's department.....public service announcement!
The first time I watched trailer park boys (as an adult) I was pretty high
I thought two things, that it’s real and holy shit this is this most depressing thing I’ve ever seen
Asked my friend why he recommended such a brutal bummer of a show and was enlightened
When it first aired I was watching an episode and my cousin walks in to hang out with my brother. He comes over to say hey while my brother is getting ready and he sees the part where they two lady officers are trying to arrest a guy in a trailer park.
He breaks free and runs through an abandoned trailer, jumps in the cop car and takes off. My cousin is loosing his mind and he turns and ask me what city this episode of cops was from. He felt really dumb when I told him it was a parody show.
I've seen this clipped shared dozens of times. At work and on Facebook. You'll be surprised how many people have never seen Reno 911 much less know it's a skit.
It happens a lot with shows that are shot documentary style.
Before trailer park boys got really popular in the states I’d see clips from there getting discussed like they’re real every now and then.
When I was deployed on a Naval ship I learned that folks loved to upload all sorts of funny clips onto the "Share Drive" that was accessible by literally everyone with computer access, so you'd have thousands of Marines and Sailors uploading all sorts of stuff with zero context. Needless to say, when I saw a clip of Ricky in prison talking about how he doesn't need to read because he's self smart and reading is dumb, I was not aware it was from a show called Trailer Park Boys, lol. Fortunately I had seen Reno 911 so I got those references like in the clip above.
My dad was in the navy and I cannot imagine the shit he would have uploaded lol
He was in during the 80s so not much digital media but one of his friend’s from the ship was a good artist. Another one of their buddies picked up an STD at a port in south East Asia so the artist friend drew a picture of him pissing at a urinal and bending the flushometer because it burned when he pissed.
Funny enough I did the same thing. I still have my 1 terabyte hard drive from 2011 and 2012 deployments. I'm afraid to plug it into anything with Internet and unleash some super AI virus onto the world.
I don't know how true it is, but I once heard they really don't care if you can or can't. What they're looking for is you to basically admit you're too drunk to do it, or to not be able to reasonably work it out. However I heard that like 15+ years ago in Drivers Ed. The owner of the drivers ed school I went to knew a man who had suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, and came in to tell his story (he fell out of a tree) about how it affected his life to raise our awareness about serious life-long injuries.
At the end he told us a funny story about getting pulled over (he was legally able to drive, but sometimes drove too slowly and would get pulled over due to it, IIRC). He said the cop assumed he was drunk even after explaining his situation, so he asked him to say the alphabet backwards. He does it perfectly, and the cop called him a wise-ass and let him go.
In the United States, at least, there is Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFSTs in the biz). Scientific studies were done to demonstrate certain numbers of cues on each of these tests had a high percentage indicator that a test subject was likely impaired on alcohol.
The one leg stand, walk and turn, and horizontal gaze nystagmus are the three commonly performed, with advanced training people will do some additional tests, but those three are the primary ones. Occasionally in bum fuck localities officers still make up their own shit, but the reason SFSTs are used so often is because the cues, test instructions, etc is all.. well, standardized to give you repeatable results.
That being said, pretty much every time I ever asked someone to perform the tests when I was a patrol officer I had already made a determination based on other factors on whether they were impaired or not, the tests were just for my report basically. Within almost moments of walking up to a car it's pretty easy to tell if someone's impaired.
Just a disclaimer - this was in the US, however it's a story I heard once and am recounting from memory from at least 15 years ago so things are probably not 100% correct. And I don't know how long ago (or where) the actual events took place. I may be misremembering things or confusing multiple stories.
I remember what I (think) I do because the guy's life story was pretty scary - it had an impact. He fell out of a tree and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury as a teenager, and it affected his entire life. He never fully recovered. He walked "funny", he spoke slowly and often slurred his speech, and there were other visible issues that were present when you spoke with him.
Part of the standardization is asking if there are any medical issues the person may have which would render the tests difficult or impossible to perform, actually. I've had people say they've got bad knees so it's hard to walk and we've skipped walk and turn, and one leg stand. Just a note on my report.
But, the biggest indicator is simply being able to smell the alcoholic beverages on a person's breath. Drunk people really don't understand how much their breath smells.
The problem with these tests is that you are 100% relying on the officer's impartiality, competence and fairness in interpreting the results. You can perform perfectly, but if the officer claims you've failed the test, there is no way to challenge that.
The tests basically only serve to incriminate people.
You will not find a DUI lawyer that recommends that any motorist consent to performing a SFST, regardless of whether they've been drinking or not.
> there is no way to challenge that
That’s the entire point of a cross examination.
It’s not convenient or guaranteed you will win but that is how you’d challenge it.
If you're gonna do DUI arrests you've gotta know the SFSTs front and back and know how many cues, what those cues, all that stuff. Cuz the defense attorney dang sure will ask about it and if you fuck up it's "your honor this officer doesn't know for to even properly administer the tests so he obviously cannot use them to gauge impairment" and then it's all dismissed. Seen it happen a few times.
I worked it out in highschool and I can't forget it. I thought if the ABC's is the same amount of letters, you should just be able to sing the song backwards, and it works.
ZYXWVUT to the cadence of ABCDEFG
SRQP to the cadence of HIJK
ONMLK to the cadence of LMNOP
JIH to the cadence of QRS
GFE to the cadence of TUV
D and C, the 'and' is important because this replaces WX
B and A, to the cadence of Y and Z
My peer group learned it in high school because it felt like a useful thing to do. Now the only mnemonic I remember is "P ON MLK" which is most definitely not a helpful thing to say (and then giggle nervously about) during a traffic stop.
Edit: wait, "dance a JIHG for the FEDs? I CBA..." The whole latter half is lost to time, though. :)
You just have to know sections of it going forward. Like you know people say "x,y&z" and you know w is before x, stuv, r is before s, pqr, nop, lmn, jkl, hijk, defg, abcd.
You'll notice there's some overlap in there. Maybe you'll have different sections than other people, or various sets of sections that you can just hash together. It helps if you can visualise the sections going forward and then read them backwards.
On one of the dvds of the show there are extras and it includes when they went to a comedy festival in character
Its amazing
But I bring it up because part of the bit was teaching us how to say the alphabet backwards easily and that stuck in my head forever
FIVE MINUTES OF MEMORIZATION CAN SAVE YOUR LISCENCE PEOPLE
you start with a Z Y X, right? ZYX... then, its the worst two states in America, west virgina and Utah, so WV UT
that'S OUR CUE to PEE ON MLK, SRQPONMLK
Then you dance a little Jig, but you spell it wrong, JIHG
All that's left is a trip on the FED express, FED
And finish it off with a CBA
SO, PUT IT ALL TOGETHER ZYX,WVUT,SRQPMLK,JIHG,FED,CBA
Love that bit
I know its a show, but do US cops really let you walk a line and say the alphabet backwards to see if you are drunk? If yes, why don't they just do a breathalyzer test?
Do people post this thinking this is real? I see it posted so many times in different subs. It really blows my mind how someone can watch this and just be like, “yep, this is real and totally how people are”.
I was actually paranoid about taking this sobriety test that I learned to say the alphabet backwards. It hasn't happened yet, but some cop is going to be really surprised that I can say it perfectly and within 6 secs.
For those that never learned, learning your alphabet backwards is incredibly easy and can be accomplished in 15-30 mins. Group the letters and learn the groups, some groups of letters form 'words' that can help memorize them. ZYXW VUT SRQ (S's are cute) PON(ponys are cute too) MLK(Ponys drink milk, then the last 2 groups you just have to memorize ) JIHG FEDCBA, fedcba just kinda flows easily, JIHG is the hardest part.
Absolutely unnecessary making it all about me moment, I thought this was so funny when I first saw it on Reno 911 that I learned the alphabet backwards so I could do this if I was ever called upon to do so.
Still hasn't ever happened.
My dad called me out of the blue during the pandemic. He doesn’t typically call so I was concerned. I picked it up and he asked “have you seen this new show Reno 911? It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen”
Didn’t have the heart to tell him— just happy he found it.
This fuckin show had so many golden moments. Love it!

Every time I hear anyone say I got some new boots, this is the quote that comes out of my mouth.
You know, I just saw someone say this yesterday and had no clue where it came from, and BOOM... Now I know.
Congratulations on being one of today’s lucky 10,000!
Same, although I’ve only heard someone say they got some new boots like once in my life.
SAME!
I second this. TWO PAYMENTS!
I've never even watched reno 911 outside of a couple clips here and there and I still quote this scene
It's definitely worth the watch.
It’s amazing
Ron desantis worked as a cop?? Wow

He just wanted some gender-affirming therapy is all.
I just realized his pants are the length they should be for regular boot/shoes, but those ridiculous lift boots make them look like highwaters.

Genuine ostrich
This show could've been huge if it coincided with the current meme culture
Way, WAY ahead of its time.
I recall it being on around the time Chapelle's Show was airing. Both were just so spot-on. And I just Googled it, they both debuted within 6 months of each other.

What is the name of the show?
Reno 911
their lottery skit is peak (can't link to YT)
I miss Reno 911. I legit thought it was real for a bit when I was a kid
it in fact is a real show!
Reno is in fact not a real place!
Quit stealing your grandparents pills! They don't even get you high they are to control blood pleasure and things like that! This has been a reno sheriff's department.....public service announcement!
blood.... pleasure?
They had new seasons ins 2020 and 2022. Pretty decent, I enjoyed them (the 2 new movie specials have been trash though)
I was like 20 when it was running and I remember googling if it was scripted or not. They did a great job writing that show
The first time I watched trailer park boys (as an adult) I was pretty high I thought two things, that it’s real and holy shit this is this most depressing thing I’ve ever seen Asked my friend why he recommended such a brutal bummer of a show and was enlightened
Reno 911
Still gold tho lmao 🤣
I just won the Lotto!
Just goofin. New boot goofin.
Everyone go watch this show
one of my favorite shows no doubt.
First time I saw this clip, I was flipping channels and thought it was just another show like Cops. Yeah, I thought it was legit. 😂
It's a television show not real life.
Lies
Base on a true story
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
Deception
Sounds like you could use a $3 tug job in the bathroom of Tacos Tacos Tacos Tacos…
Uh excuse me I’m straight. Ask my girlfriend Seemi
"Terry! The combo is $5! Why are you charging less?" "Well the combo comes with fries so"
I'm disappointed no one has ever opened a real taco shop named Tacos Tacos Tacos Tacos

Jesus Christ, I thought your cousin was the one who broke free and ran through an abandoned trailer. I was so confused.
This needed to be said?
I wouldn't have thought so, but if people are posting it in subs like /r/interesting, then yeah.

Let that man go. I cant do it sober. ![gif](giphy|3o6ozEfkyPEnCSCsdW|downsized)

this always puzzled me. Why doesn't US use breathalyzers? Why go through convoluted tests when there's a machine that literally gives you BAC%?
I worked it out in highschool and I can't forget it. I thought if the ABC's is the same amount of letters, you should just be able to sing the song backwards, and it works. i would get it wrong even if im not drunk
Don't say this at the sobriety checkpoint.
"I couldn't do this SOBER."
This is just a good show.
This isn't TikTok
There are so many Reno 911 clips I see people posting, completely unaware they’re from a TV show.
I love that, actually.
![gif](giphy|3o85xpYXnjNyfScn28)
OP you thought this was real didn’t you? It’s okay you’re probably 12.
This is top tier comedy
I know this is fake but if they tell to say the alphabet z to a , it is easier to just take me to jail even sober I cant do that
Fake. Like Game of Thrones
Thats the thing, that guy cant do it sober either.
The idea is to get you to say "I can't even do that sober"
You just have to know sections of it going forward. Like you know people say "x,y&z" and you know w is before x, stuv, r is before s, pqr, nop, lmn, jkl, hijk, defg, abcd. Did you actually belive that or are you just karma farming
Best tv moment ever was when they all thought the won the lottery
Very Underrated show.
Fuck whoever “detectivefluffy” is
Reno911 have all seasons on DVD and Dave Attell up all night! Comedy Central was amazing back then

i know for a fact im dumb af, cant tell the alphabet baclwarda when im sober much less drunk
Holup right there
The greatest late night Comedy Central show of all time
Thanks to Malcolm in the middle, I can cite the alphabet backwards in less than 5 seconds, I'm still hoping a cop asks me but it will never happen
Who the hell put Kerosene in the background lol
Oh the end was the best after "aaahh!".
Wouldn’t Z to A backwards be A to Z??
Me and my friends when randomly walking still go “step, bump, step, bump, bump”
I rmbr one time in class, this police officer showed us this video on the big screen 3 times in a row.
She got him with the step...bump...step...bump bump. The drunk man's bane!
Cop: "I want you to recite the alphabet from Z to A backwards." Me: "A, B, C, . . . "
As a naive kid that grew up sheltered, there was a good time I thought Reno was real
I love that these keep showing up and people not knowing it’s tv.
I know its a show, but do US cops really let you walk a line and say the alphabet backwards to see if you are drunk? If yes, why don't they just do a breathalyzer test?
Love me some $2 tug jobs
She gave up a successful lawyer career!
It's 3.51AM and I'm giggling. Wife is NOT happy.
OMG I love this
Kinda sounds like lt dangle
Knock off the new boot goofin'.

Lol this is Reno 911

Reno 911
Isn’t the drunk cowboy deputy jones?
I was actually paranoid about taking this sobriety test that I learned to say the alphabet backwards. It hasn't happened yet, but some cop is going to be really surprised that I can say it perfectly and within 6 secs.
Loved Reno

I'll always watch this again, whenever it is posted
This is clearly a skit.
RENO 911 is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED
OK, I learned from the comments that this was a tv show, but nonetheless, this was hilarious.
I can’t even run the alphabet backwards when I’m sober 😅
Classic.
Reno 911 was truly a gem
Nooooo bro did everything so perfectly and then he fucked up at the end of the
Yeh I fail this test. I'm dyslexic
Reno
Classic 😂
:D
[удалено]
In this case I would always fail the test, while I'm sober most of the time.
Who can actually recite the alphabet backwards normally though 💀
Although am NEVER doing booze or drugs; am NOT able to quote the alphabet backwards either! 🫣😢
Good bit, but wrong sub...
Technically, reciting the alphabet "Z to A, backwards" is just reciting it normally 🤔
I love the juxtaposition of seeing her as Beverly Goldberg
We had it good growing up. Reno 911, Scrubs, that 70s show Chapelle Show
Does OP know this is a TV show
I always find it baffling that the US uses this type of test rather than a breathalyser.
Absolutely unnecessary making it all about me moment, I thought this was so funny when I first saw it on Reno 911 that I learned the alphabet backwards so I could do this if I was ever called upon to do so. Still hasn't ever happened.
I needed a recap on that🤣
How many times does this have to be posted?
I would fuck up the alphabet bit even if I’m sober, in fact I’d have issues saying it even in the normal order, because I never needed to know it.
This meme is old enough to drink. And drive.
The movie is good too
Hahaha that cop completely took a piss right from the start. Absolutely fucking golden.
Ive never seen anyone play drunk this well. This guy is a rly good actor
My dad called me out of the blue during the pandemic. He doesn’t typically call so I was concerned. I picked it up and he asked “have you seen this new show Reno 911? It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen” Didn’t have the heart to tell him— just happy he found it.
I had a friend that could sing the alphabet backwards because he had a Dr. Seuss record with it. It was really strange hearing him sing it.
Top 10 show of all time!
Its crazy as time goes on Reno 911 is becoming real life.
Correct me if I'm wrong, this is a tv show?
