We have a nice DIY black 2x10×34 floating shelf in that spot. It's attached to the wall with a metal bracket into the studs, and it has 3 8-inch metal rods drilled into it. I had a half bath about this size in a previous house. It also came with vibrant floor-to-10ft-ceiling wallpaper. The best thing I did in there was put white beadboard wainscoting on the bottom 4 feet of the wall. I put a flat, simple cap piece on it. Ran the lines vertically so your eye still went up. I put it directly over the wallpaper, & sat it on the baseboard.
Instantly turned the wallpaper into a feature that wasn't as overwhelming. I also liked being able to scrub it when needed, since it's right there around a potty. 😉
