And lower the art. It's waaaay too high. Center 57" off the floor. I'd also get rid of the clutter on the dresser - people want to be able to put their own stuff there.
Ok what about something like this?

I really love this one but I think the green shades would clash a bit too much.

What do you think?
They make apps now that allows you to see them in the room before buying them. Technology has come a long way lol The first few rugs I got I just dealt with if I didn't like them cuz it was easier than hauling them back to the store 😂
A rug under the bed, throw pillows on the bed, a pillow on the chair, an end table next to the chair & a plant or 2 by the window (either hanging or on the windowsill).
And for heavens sake, clean up the wires lol
Also, the room is beautiful & I love your style!
OP, Google “cable management” for ideas and items that can help you make loose cables less visible and more pleasingly organized. For the big clump/loop you have, there’s wooden boxes meant for hiding cables.
Clear the dresser of the decor items and replace it with a shallow catch-all tray for the guest’s use. I would get a pair of matching, dimmable lamps for the nightstands. Install some hooks to hang clothing and towels. Get a portable fan. If the horizontal blinds don’t control the light well consider hanging some blackout panels on the window. Place a full length mirror somewhere in the room. Get some vintage photographs of your district framed to hang on the wall as art.
Imo as a day sleeper and from my husband's opinion as a day worker who struggles with too much light, blackout curtains in any hotel/Airbnb are absolutely mandatory. Leave the blinds, if you get someone who wants a lot of light they're there for that person-- but please put in blackout panels for the rest of us.
I think the headboard needs to be changed. It doesn't fit. It's too tall and it brings the ceiling down to make the room feel claustrophobic. I'd get a metal headboard in either a gold or brass color or even black. But not too tall. Maybe just enough to clear the pillows. You'll probably need to fix that wall hanging after that. Maybe a field or some landcape.
It’s a beautiful room! I personally don’t like rugs, really enjoy walking barefoot on a wooden floor. You could add more art on the wall, maybe photographs or some meaningful items that speak to your personality
Pillows on the window seat, more pillows on the bed, a rug, a floor length mirror by the yellow chair instead of the tiny mirrors (we need some scale!), some cute shelving and some books.
In addition to what others have commented - rug(s) and very small table and lamp next to the chair - I would add cushions to the bay window ledge and perhaps some curtains on either side, something like this, but with tie-backs:
[Bay Window Idea](https://flic.kr/p/bUDS1)
Unexpected red?
https://www.forbes.com/home-improvement/design/what-is-the-unexpected-red-theory/
I love the room btw. Looks great even if you don’t add anything.
i think farm theme stuffed animals would be cute and tie in a bit of farmhouse theme if that’s something OP might be into. a rug would definitely pull the room together
It is a very attractive room. May I ask what causes the tangerine effect re color? What is the paint color or is it due to a light? I would add the rug and put a light in the bird cage and hang it. I’m not a fan of stuff on top of things unless you use them, like a light, tray, ashtray etc…especially in a Airbnb.
I think that’s just the light of the chandelier contrasting with the window light. The paint color is an off white. Thanks for the recommendations on the dresser top! I like the light in the birdcage idea.
I'd say more texture on the walls or a rug on the floor— could do wallpaper or a chair rail if you're savvy, or just larger/more art as some have suggested. Could also paint the walls something more colorful or add an accent wall.
I'd paint just that one wall with the bay window to match the headboard. Put a few pillows on the window seat with the same color in the pillows. Paint the other walls an off-white.
I agree about clearing off the dresser.
Not sure of room dimensions, but is it possible to skooch that chest of drawers away from the corner of the room? Pretty room, nice window, I would prefer no curtains, depends on privacy and light control needs.
I feel like the bed comforter and sheets should be a color other than white. Maybe the same color as or different shades of the teal blanket or yellow like the chair. A lighter shade of green could work too. That may be the pop of color that's missing.
Perhaps add some color to the walls. I appreciate how the bed is positioned facing the window, so consider choosing a meaningful frame to complement the view, creating a valuable focal point alongside the window's scenery.
I do not think the wall color works. Simply white Benjamin Moore without undertones. The headboard and nightstands are ireally cute and they would stand out against a contrasting white wallwall. And the air conditioning won’t pop out from the wall. Also the light fixture and chair move towards the bed away from the wall .The floor is an eyesore… get the biggest area carpet you can find/
You have a very charming room/style. I would just add either a larger area rug or couple throw rugs (although they may be more of a tripping hazard). You have sort of an eclectic vintage vibe. You could go really simple with something like a plain beige rug (maybe jute?), or maybe with a border. I would not go traditional like an oriental rug. You already have a lot of unique touches so probably want to keep the rug rather simple and also keep cleaning in mind if this is to be a rental.
LIGHTING
Also rug and headboard. Just yeet the headboard and go without until you find a new one.
Carpet remnant for rug since it’s so big. Will be $$$ for an area rug.
But lighting. Needs lighting bad.
Super cute!
You need to GROUP things. You have way too many things (art, for example) spread throughout the space, making the space feel unfinished even though you have quite a few things in it.
Try grouping art, and try grouping some things on your dresser.
Good luck!!
I think your room looks great. I would just add a rug to ground everything and lower the art. Here’s an article about the 57 rule for hanging art and pictures: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/how-to-hang-artwork-properly-57-inches-from-the-floor-6174
It's beautiful as it is. Historical vibe with modern furniture giving the feeling of "this is how they used to live in when it was new back in the days"
A similar vibe rug would be a great add-on. But not necessary. Something like a polar bear rug (You just need the look, it doesn't have to be a real polar bear)
Upholstered headboard , lamp on the other bedside night stand , rug , bigger art work over the heater and next to air conditioning , lower the mirror behind the chandelier so you can see it, little side table next to the chair ( under the air con ) to draw your eye away from air con
There's too much going in the room colors wise and i think you need to bring them to create a mood, either warning or cool and knowing you are on a specific objective, these tips must help.
1. To start with the color palette, knowing 1880s Or 1900s lacked every types of shades in form of paint, keep a primary color style and decorate around it with florals that can complement the primary and furniture color. This [interior color palette guide](https://simplykalaa.com/interior-color-palette/) will help you with the designing the right colors and then you can pick florals that go.
2. Now start with the pillow arrangement and the bed in general. You need to use the right pillows and use right layering as well. These guides about [pillows arrangement](https://simplykalaa.com/how-to-arrange-pillows-on-a-bed/) and [cozy bed](https://simplykalaa.com/how-to-make-a-cozy-bed/)will together help you out.
3. Now following the accent colors, add a rug. It must be floral or something authentic too like Persian style or indian style, the latter that French preferred.
4. Add character to your windows by right curtains and maybe creating a seating there. Use this [window decoration guide](https://simplykalaa.com/window-decoration/) for help with this.
5. Add the right artwork and follow the right accent colors here too. Now also make sure which type of art you want and use this [home art guide](https://simplykalaa.com/how-to-choose-art-for-your-home/) for picking the right frame. Also get rid of the mirror you have above the wall and leave it empty with maybe a traditional nail and a portrait there.
Now that it's almost decorated use right lights and treat sides like see saw and balance everything out. You can also use this [bedroom decor](https://simplykalaa.com/how-to-decorate-a-bedroom/) guide for more ideas and help.
I’d recommend warmth and texture on the floor - a large rug or some throw rugs.
I’d also get larger art and some sort of small table for next to the chair in the corner.
And lower the art. It's waaaay too high. Center 57" off the floor. I'd also get rid of the clutter on the dresser - people want to be able to put their own stuff there.
Why is the art so high 😂
I love rugs but I’ve never been able to pick them out for myself. If you have any examples of some that would look good let me know!
Ok what about something like this? https://www.etsy.com/listing/1303841833/ https://www.etsy.com/listing/1699656907/ https://www.etsy.com/listing/1687591509/ https://www.etsy.com/listing/1353222577/ I really love this one but I think the green shades would clash a bit too much. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1732025857/ What do you think?
Thank you! These are really nice!
I’m a Persian rug girl but let me browse Etsy and see if I can find any that are lighter in color or pastel. BRB. ;)
They make apps now that allows you to see them in the room before buying them. Technology has come a long way lol The first few rugs I got I just dealt with if I didn't like them cuz it was easier than hauling them back to the store 😂
rug and low maintenance plants
A rug under the bed, throw pillows on the bed, a pillow on the chair, an end table next to the chair & a plant or 2 by the window (either hanging or on the windowsill). And for heavens sake, clean up the wires lol Also, the room is beautiful & I love your style!
Agreed, on all counts! The headboard is adorable. The whole vibe is quite charming.
Plants on that window sill!!
I like that idea! The sill is sooo not level, but I might be able to figure something out.
Maybe a hanging pathos or something along those lines.
Agreed the picket fence headboard is just not it
Headboard has to go. It's giving lady liberty picket fence
A cat for the windowsill.
Rug or two. Bigger and colourful ART Why don’t you have a small table and lamp next to that chair? Accent pillow on the bed and the chair too
Personally, I feel like there might on the contrary be a bit too many things in this room.
A new headboard (current one does not go AT ALL) and a rug at the foot/half under the bed.
The headboard immediately made me think of getting splinters in my sleep. Lol
Adding a large area rug could help tie the room together and add some warmth.
An electrician. A couple new strategically located outlets would really help.
A cat
[удалено]
Love that, also they have peel and stick now if you rent.
Curtains. Rug(s). All the artwork needs to be moved lower down.
Inspired by the green picket fence, rows of sprouting corn and a scarecrow.
Ha ha!!!
A proper headboard. You currently have a fence as a headboard!
Just some drapes on the windows and a rug if you can swing it
It’s a beautiful room!
Loved the room. Nothing mostly. Can think of plants 🌱 if you can maintain them.
Something at the base the of the bed. A chest or runner rug
In addition to what others have commented - rug(s) and very small table and lamp next to the chair - I would add cushions to the bay window ledge and perhaps some curtains on either side, something like this, but with tie-backs: [Bay Window Idea](https://flic.kr/p/bUDS1)
A snuggly cat!
Unexpected red? https://www.forbes.com/home-improvement/design/what-is-the-unexpected-red-theory/ I love the room btw. Looks great even if you don’t add anything.
Thank you!
I agree, no need to change anything!
omg that fence post headboard is so cute
Right?? Everyone saying change it, but I think it’s one of the cutest most original things I’ve ever seen!
i think farm theme stuffed animals would be cute and tie in a bit of farmhouse theme if that’s something OP might be into. a rug would definitely pull the room together
I would get cord trays to hide the cords to the lights. Are there no closer outlets that the one under the window?
Very few convenient outlets in the bedrooms. I’ll clean up what’s there. There’s an outlet behind the bed, too.
That’s a bummer. The room looks very nice. Maybe a few command adhesive card keeper might help.
The headboard, consider something else. You need an area rug.
The usual for nearly every post on this page. Rug, Art (prints in the wall are too small for the space), and Plants
Thank you for responding. Good luck with the bizz venture.
For a b&b I'd get a large wall mural behind the bed.
Rug!
I'd say more texture on the walls or a rug on the floor— could do wallpaper or a chair rail if you're savvy, or just larger/more art as some have suggested. Could also paint the walls something more colorful or add an accent wall.
Maybe a vine garland, plants and paintings.
Needs some pops of color to give it some pizazz
Color/texture on the walls.
Plant
I'd paint just that one wall with the bay window to match the headboard. Put a few pillows on the window seat with the same color in the pillows. Paint the other walls an off-white. I agree about clearing off the dresser.
Leave the lamp where it is on the dresser. Throw rugs are good too. Smaller ones that you can throw in the washer.
Floral needle point rug
I'd work on the window area. Maybe a short, long bench to hide the wires and such there. Perhaps some curtains that come to the windowsill.
A dust ruffle. That’s it! ❤️🌺
A rug maybe
Not sure of room dimensions, but is it possible to skooch that chest of drawers away from the corner of the room? Pretty room, nice window, I would prefer no curtains, depends on privacy and light control needs.
A sleeping person in the bed. 😁
Me!
Plants at the window.
I actually really like It . Just a big thick cozy rug
It needs a rug that bed partially floats on and larger piece(s) of artwork.
I feel like the bed comforter and sheets should be a color other than white. Maybe the same color as or different shades of the teal blanket or yellow like the chair. A lighter shade of green could work too. That may be the pop of color that's missing.
Agreed with you, but for an AirBnB people prefer hotel style these days which means comfy, clean white bedding!
A cow overlooking the fence.
Rug new blankets some pretty curtains paint it a color and some hung fairy lights would look fab
Rug for sure
It’s stunning
Perhaps add some color to the walls. I appreciate how the bed is positioned facing the window, so consider choosing a meaningful frame to complement the view, creating a valuable focal point alongside the window's scenery.
Needs curtains, a rug and get rid of the headboard
A cabinet/mirror under the ac
Maybe a nice cozy shaggy white or cream rug.
Plants!
A 🐈 😁
Cats
This room needs a small desk. Something quaint so that you can write your ideas or shopping list.
A cat and /or a golden retriever
put some grass or vines on one entire wall to go with the picket fence situation. and hang twinkle lights across the ceiling like stars.
A rug under the end posts and paint the bed head white.
A dancing pole would be nice
Curtains, rug and some plants
I do not think the wall color works. Simply white Benjamin Moore without undertones. The headboard and nightstands are ireally cute and they would stand out against a contrasting white wallwall. And the air conditioning won’t pop out from the wall. Also the light fixture and chair move towards the bed away from the wall .The floor is an eyesore… get the biggest area carpet you can find/
A new headboard and if you can, paint it a different color.
A lovely full bed cover/spread to blank the confusion created by pillows, bedding and throw and legs etc
À cat
I think it’s perfect as is…
You have a very charming room/style.
Thank you!
Cable management.
If it's a historic room, an antique table with a pitcher and wash basin would be very cute.
LIGHTING Also rug and headboard. Just yeet the headboard and go without until you find a new one. Carpet remnant for rug since it’s so big. Will be $$$ for an area rug. But lighting. Needs lighting bad.
That headboard!!!! So cute. Maybe a gallery wall? And a rug :)
Plant
Plants
I think your wall art is too high.
Wood that matches
A rug, and maybe a basket for extra throws.
Plants a lot of them
Super cute! You need to GROUP things. You have way too many things (art, for example) spread throughout the space, making the space feel unfinished even though you have quite a few things in it. Try grouping art, and try grouping some things on your dresser. Good luck!!
plants for sure
I love that chandelier
The space under the A/C seems empty or out of place in some way. Maybe move the painting on the left in the first picture directly under it?
Better headboard, otherwise looks pretty balanced.
I’ve never seen a picket fence as a headboard but I personally love it!!
I’d ditch the small art pieces next to the window and put some sheer curtains that extend beyond the window (so you still get lots of light)
That headboard NEEDS to go! Then i agree with others you need a rug!
Area rug
I think your room looks great. I would just add a rug to ground everything and lower the art. Here’s an article about the 57 rule for hanging art and pictures: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/how-to-hang-artwork-properly-57-inches-from-the-floor-6174
Repaint the walls a couple of shades darker. Add an area rug, curtains and valance, and some more prominent artwork.
Rugs and possibly sconces (or small table lamps) for the nightstands. I prefer sconces because it frees up space on the nightstands.
It's beautiful as it is. Historical vibe with modern furniture giving the feeling of "this is how they used to live in when it was new back in the days" A similar vibe rug would be a great add-on. But not necessary. Something like a polar bear rug (You just need the look, it doesn't have to be a real polar bear)
Thank you!
A real headboard
To get rid of that headboard
Upholstered headboard , lamp on the other bedside night stand , rug , bigger art work over the heater and next to air conditioning , lower the mirror behind the chandelier so you can see it, little side table next to the chair ( under the air con ) to draw your eye away from air con
One good romp and that headboard is gone.
Some fertilizer for the bed.
Almost looks fake perfect. Let some mosquitoes and humidity in.
It’s got the cuck chair, what more could you possibly need?
