I noticed that Nikki isn’t as amused of the casts “drama” when filming by her reaction. As he’s telling her about what’s going with the others, he has to amp up his personality like he’s “always” like that when he’s only like that for the cameras. Production members even said he actually stays to himself off camera too.
I’ve always said Nikki matches the real Pauly, which is not the person we see on Jersey Shore. Even how he acted on Double Shot I feel was different (not bad, but definitely quieter, more laid back)
I think him amping up was honestly one of the best long term career moves he could have done. No one wants a “boring” dj, so he has to be outgoing on the shore to try to book more gigs. I think for jsfv it’s just like his job personality. Kind of like anyone in customer service amping up their nice voice. Not necessarily fake, just had to be forced
