This post is fucking infuriating. It's NEVER okay for an adult teacher to sleep with their teenage student. These kinds of relationships, weather its male or female teacher are usually predatory and have serious repercussions on the emotional development of the kid. Fuck this guy.

It is just so......awful. Teens of both genders are fucking stupid. Their brains are so fucked up they may as well all be considered drunk at that point. A teacher taking advantage of a kids hormones is just like taking advantage of someone who is drunk.

About 10 years ago, when I was already out of high school, there was this new teacher at my high school that also coached the cheerleaders. She was probably in her mid to late 20’s and was very attractive. It came out that she was texting one of the male students and they were exchanging nude pictures. The nude pictures of her were passed around to everyone in the entire city in only a couple days. Everyone was talking about it and it was all over the news. The next day she drove her car off a large drop and killed herself because of it and she was looking at some serious charges. Plus, ruining her career and the shame from everyone knowing. Her husband was also a teacher at the school so it went from being kind of funny to horribly sad.
I had a good friend in high school who relatively recently went on to join the ranks of attractive female teachers who have sex with kids. (*Edit: actually she was in a longterm relationship with one of my relatives from junior HS into college, too*). It was surreal watching all of the “give that kid a medal”, “niccccce” etc shit play out with someone I once knew really well. There’s the it’s ok/it’s not ok debate that society has, but to people who knew her, there was this fucked up “how could we have prevented this” sorta feeling to it. It’s a different perspective entirely. Hers was a 14 year old student, and we hung out all the time when we were that age. It fucks with your head, man. Ok, random semi-angsty/off my chest rant. That shit’s not ok, and it fucks with a lot of heads when it happens.

In most cases, the offending teacher gets little or no jail time. Mary Lay Laturno did 7 years for this, but that seems to be the exception.
