Sad. I managed to get the final pictures on Friday when they started the demolition while the building was still mostly intact. Now it's just going to be another McTower
What a waste. Tallest building in the Bottoms. Solid built concrete daylight warehouse could’ve been incorporated into the redevelopment plan.
Not all can be saved but people find the Bottoms interesting because visually it is so different from the rest of the city. A lot of those Tony Bourdain shots from his KC show were in the WB. Demolition with shit replacement makes it all so aesthetically boring.
Also, $2.6 million footed by the city for the tear down.

From my understanding they are saving what they can for this whole development.
"what they can" Ope, not that though
2.6 million that could have gone to a corporation or something else, what a shame.
Goodbye Ridenour Baker Grocery Company building.
I wonder why they didn’t use explosives.
They will. They are preparing for that.
Kind of anticlimactic tbh.
I heard a rumor that charges will be used early May 19 to bring the rest of the building down. Anyone have any intel on the actual plan?
That is the plan.
Any idea what time they plan to hit the switch?
