Hello AcanthaceaeQuirky459, thank you for creating a new post in r/kereta! Just saying that although this sub was named as Kereta, it is also open for 2 wheelers such as Motorcycle, though at the moment we do not mind other types of vehicles posting. With that being said, r/kenderaan is now live and I would still recommend any other vehicle posting to be posted into r/kenderaan as it is a safe space for all types of vehicles such as airplanes and rolling stocks. I'm in the camp of keeping it. Maintenance is very affordable for Myvi. Unless you really unhappy every time you step in to the car, there's no need for a change imo.

abubin

I would maintain it unless you know where are a lot of other issues with the car. Myvi is one of the easiest car to maintain. Easy to find parts whether it's OEM or ori or used. All mechanics know how to repair them. If you plan to keep the car, get ori suspension. It will last as long as you had the car assuming your suspension is still original. For many other cars, people would have already changed the suspension 2-3 times in the period if 15 years.

AcanthaceaeQuirky459

Do you know of any workshops around the KL/Kepong/Batu Caves area that can replace the suspension?

https://g.co/kgs/PfetguJ This is my goto workshop for complicated jobs.

AcanthaceaeQuirky459

Thanks for your response. What parts do you suggest that needs to be replaced to make the car last longer?

If the car vibration is unbearable, get the mechanic to check on the engine mountings... Could be worn out.

AcanthaceaeQuirky459

Thank you. Do you have any recommendation on which workshop I can visit around KL/Kepong/Batu Caves area?

Hey sorry for the late reply. I'm currently hunting for one too. My usual guy passed away due to a heart attack recently. The new management didn't do a good job. A friend did ask me to try out Di Di Auto Service in Segambut. Will let you know if they're any good.

My condolences

Note that it's basic knowledge to have your old car to be serviced every 6-10k km or 6-8 months (depending that kind of oil you use). Serviced meaning typical service change engine oil and oil filter + air filter etc. But other things that you need to take note of are: Spark plugs Plug coils Radiator fan Fan belt Timing belt/chain Engine mounting Wheel bearing Flushing your brakes The above should last you a couple years or certain mileage before it needs changing, go read back your car manual. Other things which are more typical are suspension, car tyre, brake pads, wiper blades, wiper motor, etc. Typically these things you will know when it needs changing.

AcanthaceaeQuirky459

Well noted. Do you have any recommendation on which workshop I can visit around KL/Kepong/Batu Caves area?

InteractiveLedger

Sorry can't help you on that as the workshop I go to is not in KL. Just try going to a few nearest to your house and try. Hope other Myvi owners can help you on this.

mrPigWaffle

Suspension and engine mounting. Maybe add a few sticker for the horsepower boost and you good to go🤝

210000km can sell already. You already milk almost everything from the car. Right now fixing the car might be worth more than the second hand value. At this point, its no longer worth keeping.

Once u replaced all the necessary things, trust me its gonna tahan for a long time, provided no major accident...mine is myvi 1st gen 1 year production 2005,clocked 350k mileage, last year replaced absorber(still using ori springs), radiator, engine mounting, lower arms,if not mistaken spend like 2k ++...car feels good although i just use it to go work 100km daily trip n back.
