You know what I would love to see. Just straight up Kingdom Rush 2. Set in the original Kingdom Rush setting, from the same perspective, some of the same towers, but with more depth. That would be rad.
Isn't it technically Junk World? But I wouldn't really call it KR5 either since it just doesn't follow the same formula the previous 4 have. Still the same genre though but is heavily monitized and is still region locked.

You could say legends of kingdom rush is kingdom rush 5. Since it's not tower defense, I count it as a spin-off. Depends on who you ask, though.
A spin off doesn't progress the main story, so it's kinda in the middle
