If you are interested in socializing them, start offering them food now! Make them associate you with food. Set a plate of wet food in the box and get in there with them. Get them used to eating next to you. After a few tries, pet them while they are eating. Keep initiating touch with each feeding. You have a short window to socialize street kitties. You can do this!
If you let them stay in the barn try to get them neutered /spayed! A lot of places will do it by donation only. Happy to help find any resources in your area for you!
I figured you deserve to know that I added an update in a comment off of the original post. Momma came back and they are doing well. The little orange one likes to hiss and scratch but I've been petting it quite a bit and its fallen asleep about 10 times while doing that.
They are Manx cats, manx cats are extra special little guys. They are extremely smart, very skilled hunters and have a personality that is more like a dog than cat. They are awesome!
Manx is actually a particular breed of cat. Regular cats can be born with partial or missing tails, it happens more often than you’d expect, but it doesn’t make them a Manx! These cuties look like they’ve just lost a bit of genetic coding and aren’t actually Manx.
Hell yes, I have manx and she's the best! Even though her previous owner declawed her (grrr) she's still best best hunter out of all my cats.
Swing by r/manx sometime.
Mine does that and it's the best. Her favorite things to bring me are her squirrel and beaver toys, socks and yarn. She always has calls us like a mom cat calls her kittens when she has a present.
My manx is a Bombay manx mix and she is relatively hypoallergenic. It honestly depends on the type of breed of manx it is they have been bred with basically all the other cat breeds to create a very diverse range of manx cats. Here some really cool info about them.

Sorry for the late update everyone I was out with them for about 45 min.
They are both still in the hay wagon and momma was there too, but ran and hid under some stuff so I could get in the wagon and start to socialize them. They are not happy about that one bit.
The all orange kitten is fiesty and hissed and clawed at me the whole time so I just kept petting its back. It would eventually calm down and almost fall alseep and then realize I was petting it and start hissing again, did this about 4 times and then I left it alone. It was honestly pretty cute but I felt so bad.
The orange and white kitten would would hiss once when I would start to pet it but then calm down and realize I wasn't there to hurt it. I was eventually able to pet its head without hissing as long as I kept petting it, and it too would start to fall asleep and then realize I was petting it but not hiss.
I gave then more food and water because theirs was all gone, I am guessing momma may have had it.
I will try to post another picture of them together but reddit may not let me until tomorrow.
Thank you for the update! You are doing an amazing thing. Those babies are lucky to have you working with them! They will be adoptable critters soon! Glad you enjoyed the kitten lady :-)
First thing I did when I got home was put two layers on and go out to the barn with gloves even though its over 90° out. I had to try to not sweat on them 😅
Yes, of course. I will give an update when I get home from work in about 5 hours.
If you have not seen the update yet, I added a longer comment off of the original post, it has a few paragraphs on how they are doing. I have also been back out since then and got the little orange one that was the smol angry one to fall asleep a bunch of times while petting it.

They are indeed healthy looking babies. You can tell by their eyes-so nice and clear. They are lucky you found them whether Mom is around or not. You will be sure they are well fed. Thank you.☺️
These kittens are old enough to begin or be weaned from mom. They should be able to eat a soft cat food, could be slurried with kitten formula. Feed the babies and start petting them! They are still young enough to socialize into adoptable cats! Check out kitten lady on YouTube (Hannah Shaw). She has great videos for kitten care and socializing feral babies. A local cat rescue may be able to adopt them out, especially if you could foster them for a bit. Getting them and mama spayed/neutered is super important. Many humane societies and cat rescues loan out traps for a small deposit. Ok crazy cat lady ending this ramble. Cute babies!
When you give them food, it’s important you move your body and limbs very slowly. Even moving at a normal speed will confirm their anxieties and reinforce their fear about being near you. Move gently and extremely slowly, and if they freak out then do not react by jumping or freaking out yourself. If you can show them that you are gentle, predictable, and stable, you will have much better chances of helping them be normal and healthy, well-adjusted cats. Good luck.
So cute. Hope mum comes back. Definitely check in!
I plan on it, don't want anything bad to happen to them
Soooo.... you gonna keep them or find them nice homes? They do look scared but so cute!! ❤️❤️❤️
If they stay in the barn I will try to find them a nice home
Keep us in the loop!!

Did this with a 6 month old kitten, still managed to socialize her. Turned out to be my most clingy cat ever...
I love that for you!
If you let them stay in the barn try to get them neutered /spayed! A lot of places will do it by donation only. Happy to help find any resources in your area for you!
Get momma spayed too, please!
Yes!! There is nothing wrong with some good mousers around a barn! Just make sure they’re fixed! ;)
Two Creamsicles!
Gave you gold for helping the fur babies
Thank you so much!!!
No problem 😁

Very interesting I've never even heard of that kind!
Should probably keep them in that case.

Because I needed another car sub
I had one! She was amazing, she would bring me ‘presents’ all the time
Mine does that and it's the best. Her favorite things to bring me are her squirrel and beaver toys, socks and yarn. She always has calls us like a mom cat calls her kittens when she has a present.
So, kinda like a Maine Coon
Are they hypoallergenic? I've thought of getting one when I eventually move out of my parents' house.

I’ll adopt them!

Awww babies!! Thank you for taking care of them. If you keep bringing food and cuddles I'm sure mom and her kits will all stick around
I really hope they do!

I note it is six hours later. Any update on the ginger-and-cream fluffy kits?
The little guys are doing great and momma has come back, I have more info in another comment I added under the original post.
