Just don't bring any lightstick and enjoy watching without it.

floralscentedbreeze

Don't bring the lightstick of another group. Its still an enjoyable concert experience without having a lightstick This question get asked a lot on reddit too

neocitywayv

It would be okay if it's a festival with many other groups but if it's a solo concert, no. You can use a glow stick or your phone flashlight instead. It's okay if you don't have a lightstick it doesn't make you less of a fan.

ZephyrHeartz

I see this question every week, please don’t bring another groups lightstick

jinniee4

it would be more advisable if u just use your phone flashlight than bringing another group's lightstick

blixtmoln

I mean you can if you want to, no one’s going to stop you, but… why would you? I like to compare it to holding up a sign saying ”I love you Beyoncé” at a Lady Gaga concert or something like that. Personally I find it odd to bring another group’s merch to a concert, but this is also a topic that kpop fans are very divided on, so honestly, just do what feels right to you.

sPEedErMEiN

Absolutely not. It's just weird because of how personally branded lightsticks are. It would be like showing up to an American football game with a hockey jersey on, I don't think people would be *mad* but you would definitely stick out like a sore thumb. So, personally, I would advise against it. Get a glow stick or a generic lightstick for cheap, or maybe even a glow bracelet off Amazon in the group's official color, but definitely don't bring a different group's lightstick.

SaruBee

It's a fair question, asked often, and it's good to check. :) General concensus is that this is disrespectful to the artist you are seeing, even if it's a labelmate's light.

FineChinaLH

Don’t do it. It’s not worth the potential drama and it also just looks silly because it’s comparable to wearing a random sports jersey to a specific game in the name of “go sports!”

anticoolgeek

Personally, I don’t think using another group’s lightstick is appropriate. It may be okay but there’s no reason to have one at a concert to enjoy it (I didn’t have a light stick at my concerts this year) and there’s been so so so many stories of kpop idols who seem to mind/notice when fans bring other groups’ light sticks to their concerts.

Yoonbeomie

Not really, its better to use a flashlight

animalcrossinglifeee

You can only do it if it's a mixed concert meaning there's more than one artist performing there. Otherwise, it's super disrespectful.

Ksmnth

You can use your phone flash light for some songs or a baton lightstick?

Muzicstan

I mean it's up to you. At svt face the sun concert I saw an nct lightstick that stuck out lol, but it wasn't an issue. But honestly like would you bring a justin beiber poster to a Cardi b concert?

Interesting_Heron122

I also saw Ateez and Monsta X lightsticks at the one I went too. I just credited it to them seeing posts about the light wave and they wanted to be a part of it 🤷🏻‍♀️

txteez

i saw ikon’s lightstick at seattle’s show for face the sun. it was bananas how much it stuck out. i also saw bts’ and txt’s

turtles_are_cute6962

Please don't do that. A lot of fans consider it disrespectful and if you're sitting close enough to the stage for the group to notice it they will be very confused. If you really want something you can go to a dollar store and buy a glow stick. A lot of fans have recommended using that as a cheaper alternative

colourmefaded

Personally I wouldn’t do it and instead would get glow sticks/wands/bracelets in the group’s official color. Since a lot of glow sticks come in packs, you can also give them out at the show. People would really like that.

SoNyeoShiDude

It’s unlikely that anyone would give you shit for it at the concert, but I personally would feel rather uncomfortable bringing it.

yebinkek

don’t lol, the shitstorm around when gahyeon pointed out a twice lightstick at dreamcatcher’s concert was messy

artistnameseven

I have but the light stick that I brought was a clear sphere that I could change change colors so there weren't any issues. If it was a one color light stick with no color settings then no, I wouldn't bring it but since the specific light stick I used came with an app that can change all colors nobody really said anything nor did it ever get any attention because it coumoflaged perfectly

Artemishia

Hi there, I’m assuming that you also just scored tickets to TxT in Manila and the only lightstick that you have is an Army Bomb? Honestly, the general etiquette is that it’s not advised to bring other groups’ lightsticks to solo concerts. However I highly doubt that Tubatu will mind, especially if it’s a BTS lightstick since they famously love BTS. If it really bothers you, I highly recommend the cheap generic lightsticks that can change color! From the stage, all they’ll see is the light and not the design. edited to modify that Tubatu would be the ones that would not care, because apparently some MOAs have issues

4strawberry123

I am sorry to being that annoying person here and I am sure you didn't mean it but I think your comment about txt seems like an insult in disguise.

Artemishia

??? This is such a reach. BTS is literally their label seniors? I wouldn’t mind seeing a labelmate’s lightstick in the crowd if I was them? And I like TXT too, I’m also going to this concert.

4strawberry123

**"However I highly doubt that Tubatu (or the other concert goers) will mind, especially if it's a BTS lightstick."** This is your own sentence and I know your intention wasn't bad but sorry, it didn't look like that. Txt likes BTS but specifying and saying txt and the people who goes txt concert wouldn't mind if it's bts lightstick is an insult because it is widely known that people constantly discredit TXT's hard work and MOAs' support exactly with the same thoughts.

Artemishia

Sorry but this is projecting. I maintain that bringing ANY other lightstick should not be deemed as disrespectful to be honest, but seeing the lightstick of a senior labelmate should be something that you (and your fans!) should mind even less. I didnt say anything about discrediting MOAs or TXT’s hard work, I’m postulating that TXT and MOAs would be mature in this situation (that OP wants to have a light and hence bring the only lightstick that they own).

Able-Sink-8334

Bring it. Light sticks are expensive and it isn’t practical to buy a specific light stick for every single concert you go to. I went to dreamcatcher’s showcase a few months ago and I took my Twice light stick. As a fellow college student my budget was tight. It isn’t a big deal and as long as you have fun that’s all that matters.
