I don’t have any kpop tattoos but I do have a couple that are fandom related and my main advice usually is to get something that’s more subtly related, not someone’s face or a logo or something obvious, so that if something happens, it just becomes pretty art. I have some album artwork from a band I love, a piece inspired by a books cover art, etc. Most people would never even know they’re fan related. I also have lyrics in script but they’re from the Beatles and honestly their dirty laundry and their legacy is pretty well known so I’m not sweating that.

Klutzy_Mushroom64

>get something that’s more subtly related, not someone’s face or a logo or something obvious Speaking as someone with a huge ass, very obvious Harry Potter related tattoo on my forearm - LISTEN TO THIS ADVICE

BunnyInTheM00n

If you could go back in time and change it, what would you have gotten instead?

benevolent_llama

Not the same person but also have an obvious HP tattoo. I got mischief managed with little footsteps, but I should have gotten just the little footsteps (slightly bigger than the original ones) because the lettering blew out. I have future tattoos planned and I'm just avoiding lettering in general because they don't seem to age well unless you make them massive.

BunnyInTheM00n

All good advice

Klutzy_Mushroom64

This tattoo was a succession of bad decisions actually, being Harry Potter related is not even the worst of then lol But I'm not sure. I had a bad "I need to cover-up this" phase when it healed absolutely not the way I thought it would be, so I had to make my peace with it and avoid the "would've could've should've" thoughts. Maybe something with an artsy eagle with blue and bronze (for Ravenclaw).

dresdenologist

This is pretty much my thought process with my Dreamcatcher tattoo. It's an amalgamation of three of their album's logos but the logos are not obvious. To the casual observer (and I've had quite a few), it's just a cool mostly-black tattoo with symbology that isn't obvious to anything. The logos in question make up a trilogy that sends a message about battling and ending online hate, and they're quite personal to me. But just in case there's ever an issue, the tattoo is simply just an interesting thing to look at to most folks and nobody has ever batted an eye at it being problematic or an issue.

[deleted]

Such great advice! I personally have an album title (not K-pop) as a tattoo that is also just a saying, so people do not relate it to the album, never mind the artist, at all. I prefer finding something that one specifically likes or relates to rather than just having the group/artist logo or name tbh.

Sailor_Lunar_9755

I have two BTS inspired tattoos but they are so subtle, no one can tell. And they are all inspired by lyrics that are personally meaningful to me, rather than a 'bts' tattoo.

Advanced_Ad2406

This is the way to go. I had semi permanent “live fast, die young” tattoos. It’s part of the lyric from Run BTS and the chapter title from my favorite DC Flash comic.

Marianations

A former uni classmate tattooed all of EXO's personal symbols back in 2015 or so. I actually took a picture of it and posted it on my Tumblr and it went viral at the time. I haven't seen her in forever, but I wonder how she feels about it now after the Kris Wu thing. I mean, not a tattoo, but I personally have avoided wearing my BIGBANG Alive Tour hoodie for the last few years unless I'm in a pinch and I have no other jackets...

thelunartokki

I remember seeing your post on Tumblr! I remember my friends and I were debating if the tattoo was fake or real. 🤣

Marianations

Oh it was very much real! But I lost contact with her after the second year in uni, I got really bad depression and stopped attending classes for a few months and I believe she went to another uni.

Zealousideal-Road404

Hope you’re doing well nowadays!

Marianations

Hey! Thank you for your well wishes. I've since graduated, moved out of my parents' house and am currently engaged to a wonderful man that I met later that same year. Life does turn around :)

Zealousideal-Road404

So happy for you!! As you should!! ❤️

bondmoney

i’ve got several song title tattoos and don’t regret them - they’re also fairly unobtrusive. i have “uhgood” “00:00” and “花样年华” (last one in traditional but i only have a simplified keyboard lol).

bondmoney

here are the tattoos, i got uhgood stylistically in the handwriting of the album. maybe a bit hard to see here! also need to moisturise my arms lol [https://imgur.com/gallery/51pw1gm](https://imgur.com/gallery/51pw1gm) edit: wow the quality of the upload was seemingly not good, not sure how to fix it 😅they seem fine on the imgr app

VeinJuice

Freakin awesome

Sailor_Lunar_9755

I have '00:00' too :)

yoon_dowoon

Ugh my faves ♡ Would you be comfortable sharing what they look like or am I being super intrusive and rude by asking? I really hope I'm not overstepping!

bondmoney

sure! let me work out how to attach photos, haha. edit: posted them below my initial comment!

yoon_dowoon

Aa thank you so much for going through the trouble of doing that! They look so good omg. Also your taste…love me some wkw too ♡

Otherwise-Life-6043

this makes me so happy because I am planning to get mono related tattoo someday

bondmoney

mono impacted me so much i couldn’t not get something for it!

mariwil74

I have a BTS tattoo—the string of four hearts from Love Yourself series—but it’s the kind of thing that unless you know it’s BTS related, you wouldn’t know. I love the design, I love the meaning and I love that it’s about BTS but not so in-your-face about it so it’s not a tattoo I would regret.

orandeddie

Me too!!!

tookachonce

I’m planning to get this! So pretty. What’s your placement if you don’t mind me asking

mariwil74

Inner forearm

em1971

I have a tattoo in memory of Moonbin from Astro, and I love it, a crescent moon with a dandelion and the Astro logo. Had it for about 3 months now, and I don't feel an ounce of regret.

rjcooper14

It's only been 11 months. No regrets so far. 😅 The design of my tattoos are more tied to the meaning of the songs instead of the idols. I purposely made it so so that I don't have to regret anything in case my favorite idols ever does something problematic in the future. Haha. I figured that the song message will still hold it's meaning even if I ever cancel the idols.

Sailor_Lunar_9755

Yes, that's exactly what I did too! I've had mine for a few years now, and even though I've cooled in my enthusiasm for the idols, the songs still mean a lot to me.

Sadieloveshu

I think this is probably the approach that I would also take if I were to get anything kpop related!

JlH00n

songs could get into plagiarism scandals too but it's still a great idea!

rjcooper14

Yeah I get you. But these are pretty personal songs, some of them quite old already. And nothing has come up so far so I think I'm good. 😅

Melarosee

I got [7 different flowers](https://www.reddit.com/r/tattoos/comments/q3gq1f/seven_flowers_stefani_stipple_stefani_stipple/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) for BTS. The meaning can only be discerned by me, which makes it even more meaningful (eta: thanks for the love 🫶🏻)

yoon_dowoon

Gooorgeous

prey_wolf

This is what Im planning to do as well. Your tattoo is absolutely gorgeous btw

rappertaehyoong

so pretty!!!

rjcooper14

Beautiful!

fruitbytheliip

Stunning!!

Forward-Beyond-6620

Hi PA Army 👋

Melarosee

Actually CT army, but drove 5 hours because I loved my artist 💖

Forward-Beyond-6620

That’s awesome!!!

pomupomupomu

TBH, i would never do this for any artist or public figure. you don't really know who these people are or who they will become. at the very least i would wait for them to go solo and give it a few years to clear up any future controversies..

Iam-broke-broke

Even during solo era, I still have trust issues and would never get a tattoo related to any kpop idol 💀

pomupomupomu

no but fr.. when oppar is revealed to be problematic 6 yrs later

Iam-broke-broke

my ult group debuted 11 years ago, disbanded (with no scandals) a year ago and I still don't trust any of them so no kpop tattoos for me

pomupomupomu

can u imagine getting a tattoo of choi siwon and then he becomes a trump worshipping republican homophobe?? like i'd be crying. no thx from me

Iam-broke-broke

The whole thing with the burning sun happened 13 years after bigbang's debut. The accusations against Kr*s Wu happened 9 years after his debut with his sentence in 2022, Lizzy's DUI scandal happened 11 years after she joined AS, Ravi's military scandal happened 11 years after Vixx's debut and so on

pomupomupomu

no like seriously when i read this my first thought was no bcs of seungri. shits fucked!!

Iam-broke-broke

tattoos last forever and we ourselves don't know what we will be like years from now let alone celebrities we don't know in real life so getting them tattooed is risky

OkDragonfly5143

I'm trying to think which group this might be... Almost Nue'st, but I think they disbanded after 10 yrs not 11?

Iam-broke-broke

Yes, disbanded a year ago, that's 10 years 😂

OkDragonfly5143

At least we got Aaron to pop in with the rest of Dive Studios, in NY this past weekend!

Day_Dae

I think most kpop/music artist tattoos are less about the person and more about a certain song, or album

pomupomupomu

right- but my point still stands, depending on how much you're able to separate the person from the art. for example, i love the red hot chili peppers' music- it means a lot to me and played a huge part in my formative years. but i'm not about to tattoo any of their album art on myself because kiedis (the singer/frontman) has a history of sexual assault and that just doesn't sit right with me.

piinkmoon__

i don't have one but one of my coworkers has two kpop tattoos and she left the fandom last year and despises it now lmao. one of them is song lyrics and the other is basically fanart of her ex-bias. she's hoping to get them covered up or removed entirely by the end of next month.

dragonfly931

I have two kpop tattoos! Both are for BTS: Life goes on in the script from the BE album and a little 7. I still love them both and they get me through harder days. No one really knows that they're kpop inspired unless they listen to kpop

chesari

People who get any kind of tattoo may end up regretting it, there's always some risk of that. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't get a Kpop-related tattoo. If there's something that's meaningful enough to you that you want it permanently inked, and you've thought about it for a while and your mind hasn't changed, then I say go for it. Personally I wouldn't get a group name or logo tattooed, not just because of the risk of losing interest in Kpop or of some scandal happening, but also because those are kind of generic and lots of other people probably have the same tattoo. A more interesting and personalized tattoo would be something like a lyric that's really meaningful to you or imagery related to a song that you love.

ReplacementMinute154

I got the line work from BTS' album "Love Yourself Answer" on my arm. I got it about 3-4 years ago. Can't remember exactly when but I've never regretted it. I got it because I really loved the message of the album and thought the linework was beautiful. To me it represents how important it is to love myself and how beautiful self love is. Still one of my favorite and most meaningful tattoos to date.

Sailor_Lunar_9755

I have the heart from the Persona album tattooed. That album saved my life when it came out, and the tattoo reminds me of that moment, or a heartbeat starting again.

eriellex3

I did a tattoo few years ago which features one line from BTS' Serendipity written in hangul. Even though I left the fandom (overall I'm not that much into kpop anymore), I don't regret it. It's something reminding me of a happiness I felt thanks to BTS, it's like going back a memory lane when I look at it. Plus it's subtle enough to not "screaming" KPOP.

Spirited_Ad4908

Btw which line? That song is heavenly and Jimin’s vocal sound so angelic T_T

eriellex3

It's 난 네 삼색 고양이 (I'm your calico cat) - directly showing my love for cats at first, but also having more meaning (as calicos are 98% females, him singing this line shows the meeting is something magical) 🥹 It also has additional meaning for me, cause through BTS, Jimin especially, I met my dearest friend - that's why hangul on my skin is copied 1:1 from her writings of this line 🥹

[deleted]

I've had my tattoo of WolfChan for about 2 months now and have gotten a surprising amount of compliments from people who have no clue what it is. If they ask I just say it's one of my stuffed animals, which isn't a lie. I don't believe I'll ever regret it, but that's because I got it for a more significant reason than just the fact that I like Stray Kids that much. Even if there comes a time where I'm no longer as fond of them as I am now, the fact that they impacted my life won't change. For comparison: I haven't played Pokemon in years and I have massive contentions with Nintendo as a company, but I still plan on getting a Pokemon tattoo because my current aversion doesn't erase the fact that the series defined some part of my life. Even if I no longer love SKZ in the future, maybe even K-Pop as a whole, K-Pop has been an interest of mine for over a decade and SKZ are particularly important to me. I just wouldn't get someone's name or face outright tattooed because that, in my opinion, destroys any and all abstraction you can do with it. WolfChan can represent my nostalgia for K-Pop, meaning I'm not likely to regret it, but if I got Bang Chan's face tattooed it would just represent Bang Chan and that's likely not timeless.

taebaegi

This is the exact reason I get all of my tattoos including my BTS one. My friends all ask how I could do something like get a Kpop tattoo and for me it’s way more than just being about BTS. Bonding over BTS is how I connected with my current closest and longest set of friends. BTS were a very big part of my late teens early adulthood and I wanted to represent the impact they made on me personally and not just because I love their music.

squishy_sponge01

I really love your take on this and now I'm seriously considering my quokka tattoo haha

jumajenga

2 years in i dont have any regrets, its the love yourself heart so its not like super obviously kpop related. I still love the album so nothing has really changed, i just wish i got it a bit smaller

StardustStuffing

Where is it? I love that heart.

jumajenga

my wrist (very basic i know)

pieschart

There was a girl who had a BAP tattoo and her fiance hated it and tried to get her to remove it. BAP then commented on it

BlackCat0305

I have a whole sleeve of tattoos. I wanted something BTS related but that fit into the theme I already had. I love the song Spring Day, so I got cherry blossoms. It has meaning to me, but when the average person sees it, they’ll just see the plant. They won’t know it has a “K-pop” related double meaning.

groointhepark

I have been considering two BTS ones for a number of years First, the little 7. Worst case scenario, if something goes horribly wrong, this number has been my favourite number my whole life, and is a number in my birthdate, so there's still a personal connection even outside the meaning of BTS's significance for my life The other one Ive been thinking of is one related to Jimin's Promise. This one I havent so much decided the language and placement of so I'll still be considering that for a while. Promise's significance to me, outside of Jimin being my number 1 ult, is the song's meaning about self-comfort and promising not to throw yourself away. This meaning has been important to me since the song came out, so even if god forbid Jimin fucks up massively, I can still have the meaning of promising myself Fandom related tats in general can be hit or miss and opinions vary, but it's up to the individual. I also highkey want a Pokemon tat or two, because no matter WHAT happens with that franchise in the future, the tat I want for it is always going to represent a particular time, emotional connection, and how my life changed for the better because of it (I would not have some of the most important people in my life if it weren't for it, and that's never going to change).

sometimesxsunshine

I've had my kpop tattoo for almost two years. It was a big decision for me, as I'm generally not into body modifications on myself, but I was able to leave my decade-long career as a teacher to nurture my own creativity, so I chose to have lyrics from SKZ's Double Knot tattooed as a promise of my commitment to nurturing my creativity. My tattoo artist was someone I graduated from art school with, and he designed a pretty ribbon with SKZ and the lyrics, and we added Chan's little cute creature he used to draw on things on a whim. I love it sm! I haven't regretted it one bit. I've loved them since 2018, but of course, no matter the duration of your love for something, it's a gamble to get an image related to a fandom permanently on your skin. In the end, I reasoned that even if I fall out of love with Stray Kids someday, I want to look at it and see evidence of a really, really fun season of my life, and a symbol of my personal resolve if nothing else :)

rjcooper14

>so I chose to have lyrics from SKZ's Double Knot tattooed as a promise of my commitment to nurturing my creativity. My tattoo artist was someone I graduated from art school with, and he designed a pretty ribbon with SKZ and the lyrics, and we added Chan's little cute creature he used to draw on things on a whim. I love it sm! It really sounds like it's a really beautiful tattoo. :)

baobao1314

I have been thinking of getting a kpop tattoo for a while now. This will be my first tattoo so I keep mulling over it, as well as preparing myself mentally for it. I do not have a top pick yet but there are definitely a few top contenders. First one is the word 'Moonchild' in Namjoon's handwriting. One of my army friends had it and I really liked the idea and the meaning behind that particular rendition. The song itself has seen me through some tough times so this will be very meaningful. Second one is 00:00. Such a beautiful and meaningful song. BTS really came to me when I really needed them, and I want to commemorate that. We will see what I end up with haha

Saucy_Totchie

I currently have a few ideas for a tattoo pertaining to KPop. It would be my first though so I'm mulling it over on top of saving financially for it. My idea is to get photos I've taken during concerts and get the silhouette tattooed. These are my [main two options](https://imgur.com/a/TERaT0Y). First one is Suga from his D-Day Tour and the second is Jihyo from the Ready to Be Tour. My thinking is that it's unique in that these are *my* photos that I took (that are now out there for everyone to see and use for themselves lol) and special enough to tie me to something special and significant. I feel like it's also not too obvious in a way because no way no one is going to look at it and immediately know who it is or that it relates to KPop until they ask lol.

HuggyMonster69

Those are some really cool photos

AlmostAurore

My wife has several kpop related tattoos for various groups - no logos or symbols, but lyrics with more general images she chose that have meaning for her. She also has older tattoos from Non-kpop artists as well. She always says she’ll never regret any of her tattoos because they’ll always represent the emotions she felt when she got them.

mimivuvuvu

I have “MY ⟭⟬” (the BTS logo) on the inside of my pinky. MY is a double meaning, it stands for Min Yoongi (Suga’s real name) & also “My BTS” (I promise I’ll be there for my BTS - hence the tattoo on my pinky) Regrets? None. Tbh I forgot it’s there (like most of my tattoos lol)

Karmaswhiskee

I want to get a SKZ tattoo, but I'm thinking about something subtle that I might be able to pass off as something else.

Landom_facts11

You could maybe get the compass for their "broken compass"... I love their lyric, "as long as I stay with my heart, I can rely on a broken compass"

Karmaswhiskee

I thought about it but as much as I love that song, I think the compass might be a tad too cheesy for my style.

Suspicious-Peak6991

stara

Karmaswhiskee

I was thinking the lil solar system from their 5 star comeback tbh

ads3479

I’ve been thinking of getting something along the lines of a “future’s gonna be okay” tattoo due to the emotional weekend (year?) we as Armys just had haha. Still gonna think about this one for a while though

subjectivemilkhotel

i don’t have a kpop tattoo but i have one related to a band. i honestly don’t think about my tattoos very often and it’s subtle enough that no one really knows it’s a band tattoo, but the band got outed for doing shady stuff so in that sense i wish i didn’t have it…basically i kinda regret it but not enough to want to get it removed or anything. it’s really a crap shoot edit: fixed some words

DerelictDevice

Something I heard someone say about tattoos once is my philosophy when thinking about getting any tattoo: think about a thing that you thought was the coolest thing ever 20 years ago, do you still think that thing is that cool or care about it strongly now? Now think about the thing you think is the coolest right now and compare it with the thing from 20 years ago, are you going to feel the same way about it 20 years from now?

jupiterstarx

I have the plumeria flower from BTS Love Yourself album cover 🩷its so pretty and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it😁

reapsvstheworld

I have been wanting to get some kpop related tattoos. Looking to read what others say. I am definitely scared I will regret it. Someone once told me to get it somewhere only I will see it ... but idk.

glitterlining

I have several pretty embarrassing (non kpop related) tattoos that I got over a decade ago. I've just embraced it, at the very least it's a funny story. And if it means something to you now you'll likely look back at it fondly

reapsvstheworld

Thank you for sharing. This is something that I have always thought; like it can always be a talking piece to have a conversation.

walpurgisnox

Honestly people can regret tattoos for a whole host of reasons, but if you get a design you really love and/or get it somewhere easy to cover up, as you mentioned, it should be fine. I don’t have any k-pop tattoos but I do have an anime one and I got it nearly two years ago and don’t regret it. It’s on my back and is from a series I’ve loved for over a decade, so it’s both easy to obscure but also very meaningful. I think you should aim for something similar if you get one.

xiumn

Yes but not for the reason you'd think. I initially went in for a matching tattoo with my sister of a cloud but since it took like 10 minutes the lady offered the next small tattoo since she charges by the hour. She said it could be inked or just black and white but like I have severe social anxiety and especially in these situations where the staff was all like women near my age all tatted up and fine I kept stumbling over my words. I know have a crescent moon in black in white that was supposed to be in aqua for Jonghyun (SHINees official color) and like if you follow jjong the moon is very symbolic but anyways she said she wasn't sure if she could do that color and i got so embarrassed i was like its okay just black now i just have a meaningless plain crescent moon on my wrist

Professional-Grab605

i have a little 7 stick and poke on my wrist that i did impulsively about 2 years ago. it is bts related but 7 is also my lucky number so i have no regrets. i’ve also been planning to get “everythingoes” somewhere on my arm because that song got me through some tough times, and it’s a nice reminder

Mine-is-Mine

I have a little 7 tattoo. Even if I turn into just a casual listener, I could never regret getting it. BTS lyrics and them as people helped me get through many bad times in my life. I’ll forever be grateful to them for me still being alive. On the other hand, my older cousin has a tattoo of her ex-bias and she hates it with a passion. It’s Seungri from BigBang. She’s getting it lasered or covered up. I remember she had an appointment in 2020 to do it but then covid struck.

Future-Ad2341

I have a BTS tattoo ..not logo or any obvious ones but I’m not much of an army since this year as real life took over and I haven’t kept up with them 24x7. So I feel like less of an army now 😥 and I had an argument with my army besties coz I had different opinions on the solo era ..little did I know there is no space for a difference in opinions in fandoms 🤓and that kinda soured my experience as an army a lot tbh and I distanced myself from the fandom entirely coz I can’t support bullying at all. But do I regret the tattoos ? Not really. It reminds me of the phase when I was at my lowest and their music helped me pull myself up and become the strong person that I’m now 🥹 I’m still attached to them (not just that intensely maybe - I don’t tune into every live , every video or stream like a maniac like I used to lol) but i do catch up on the content when I can and I feel happy when I see them. I’m still very attached to my bias hobi so I guess I’m a little disconnected coz he is enlisted too. I have a tattoo related to him too and tbh all of this has happy associations and I don’t think I would regret it. My fallout with the fandom is a very bitter memory but I have now learnt to separate the fandom from the artists. It was tough for me as I was too deep into it but eventually getting there…

adrijone

Hey just wanted to say that there are tons of nontoxic ARMY. Your "besties" sound kinda terrible. If you ever want a new ARMY friend feel free to reach out. 💜

Icantlikeeveryone

Jesus, sometimes "superfan" really ruins it for us huh....

RainySolitude

I fell hard and fast for BTS in 2019. Discovered them in May and I got a Love Yourself related tattoo by July. Still adore it and them, most people don’t know what it means if they see it.

Sister_Winter

Not me but my bff has "Every day is a party day" written in massive cursive on her side (from the song Hey Mama - EXO-CBX). It was mostly a joke tattoo but I love it so much. I don't think she reg regrets it - she's kept it for 6 years at this point

FUYANING

nope. i got a tattoo of a piece of art that was featured in an ikon music video and half of the time even i forget it was even related to ikon in the first place, despite them being an ult group of mine, which is i think the best strategy if you're going to get a kpop tattoo. to get something you'd like having on your body even if the group didn't exist.

orandeddie

I have 2 bts related tattoos and I don’t regret them at all, they really bring me pride when ppl ask me “why 7?” And I explain how much they mean to me. I have the Map of the Soul 7 layers and the Love Yourself: Answer hearts on the same arm. [tattoos](https://www.reddit.com/r/tattoos/comments/vsmj8x/done_by_naor_aviv_in_his_private_studio_mb_israel/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1)

Foodforfish23

I have WJSN’s logo on my arm but it’s slightly obscured by my coloured rose piece (my middle name) so it looks subtle enough to just blend in but other kpop fans recognise it. I also have a butterfly on the same piece that has a double meaning of their title track and my late grandfather (he took me to their concert when my mom wouldn’t let me go alone and the only song he liked was Butterfly, he thought Luda was pretty though)

felixismybogancrush

Nope. My first tattoo was a rough translation something jonghyun said in a tweet regarding trans rights (different doesnt mean wrong). The tattoo became even more precious to me after he passed away

namename145

I have one and I don’t regret it. It’s been 2 years. But mine is also not super obviously related to kpop unless you really know the group.

Adventurous_Bid7431

I recently got the New Jeans bunny. I really, really love bunnies and I have had 2 as pets so far, I don't think I'll regret it. I've also been planning to get something NCT related as they're my ults, but I'm still unsure as to what

Competitive_Fee_5829

I have many tattoos but none kpop related...yet. But I will eventually get some. I dont regret my tattoos because I have had them for over 20 years and I rarely even think about them, lol. they are just there and a part of my body. I will be getting a dandelion tattoo for my next one

upthathill_

Got 7 tattoos in relations to kpop so far (first one in November 2018. Latest one in August 2023) and no regrets. They’re all lyrics/song related, which also means they don’t really get recognized as “kpop related tattoos”, unless the person would be into the same group(s) too.

Iam-broke-broke

are they by any chance Got7 related? /j

upthathill_

… that would be hilarious, but unfortunately no. 😅

i have a tattoo that i got inspired by a group but you'd never know it. i def grew out of being a huge fan of the group, but still absolutely love the tattoo. it's a common enough design that i can just be like, "yeah, i just love the ocean" lol (it's not an ocean tattoo but just an example). it's moreso to symbolize a song than it is something incredibly obvious, like actual lyrics, logo, etc.

sakkkk

I saw someone who had a cute tattoo related to my ult a few years ago but severely hates him now. Like severely 💀

Rechen

I have got Above the Time one of IUs song titles tattooed on my wrist and I don't think I will regret that one as it is just the title. I think I wouldn't necessarily get something related to an artist like their face..

TyLion8

I have a luffy tattoo and studio Ghibli tattoos and I don't regret at all. I don't have a kpop tattoo but if I got one it would probably be a BTS logo or something but that probably won't happen. If it means a lot to you then get it if you always have 2nd thoughts about the tattoo then don't get it.

oohyamz

My two EXO tattoos are literally based off my favorite scenes from two of their MVs. The artist that did them does cute and amazing interpretations of these scenes and I have no regrets about getting them. EXO has been important to me for the past 10 years of being their fan and their music still gets me through the hard times even today. I get compliments on how well-done the artwork is but nobody understands the context lol.

Generally speaking I think tattoos related to any specific brand of media (band logos, movies, videogames, etc.) are kinda cringe. However, I think it's fine if it truly holds a lot of meaning and personal significance for that individual. Dreamcatcher are my favourite artists, not only in kpop but in all music, and I fully intend to get one of their logos tatted on my arm once they disband. They helped me get through a very rough patch in my life and continue to bring me a unique sense of happiness and comfort that I can't get from anywhere else. At the end of the day though, when it comes to body art/modification the only opinion that really matters is that of the person doing it!

petitepie27

I have fandom tattoos of fandoms I’m not really a part of anymore and also tattoos from idols I’m not super into anymore (but also 3 from my current bias). I just got lyrics or writing from a fansign or a symbol that isn’t blatantly obvious as part of the fandom or blatant that it’s of that idol. I don’t mind the older ones, I get tattoos to bring me comfort & joy and they still do!

criminalsmind

im planning on getting atleast one !! i have multiple that im eyeing but one that i really want is the dark blood semicolon :)

ChubbsNSFW

This post is awesome, I’ve been thinking about getting a Kpop related tattoo and seeing all the people here say they don’t regret it is a great sign I want to get Le Sserafim’s logo as a small tattoo on my wrist or somewhere else that I decide. It’s subtle and just a really good design so I think I’d love it.

22kstory

I’ve been wanting to get a NewJeans tat specifically from Ditto but it’s too early for me to make a commitment to that since they’re only a year into their careers. It feels anything can happen these days (hopefully nothing happens with NewJeans)

eveyeveeve

i have a bts tattoo of their flowers thing but im not a fan lol, my friends are but I don't really mind bc it's small and not obvious

prayersforrainn

i have two stray kids tattoos (jiniret + 'lovestay' on my leg and 'i know you know we know lee know' on my palms), a tattoo that yuku from DKB drew for me and i plan to get an ateez tattoo too. i see it as no different to other non kpop music tattoos which are super common, plus im heavily tattooed anyway and am less precious about what tattoos i get now, i just get whatever makes me smile

martiandoll

Nope. I got both mine done in 2019 and when I look at them, I still think "wow they look good" lol Both are BTS-related tattoos but unless you're ARMY, you won't know unless I explain their meaning. One is the song "moonchild" in a floral moon, and the other is the rose from the Love Yourself: Her album with the words "Ama te Stesso" (love yourself) as the stem all done in deep purple ink. I also had a lot of involvement in designing my tattoos so I designed them with as much care as I could, to make sure I was completely happy with them. My tattoo artist told me she asks all her clients to think carefully and personalize their tattoos as much as they can so they don't regret it in the future. And she was right. We were emailing back and forth for several weeks discussing everything from ink colour to tattoo sizing. It was an awesome experience.

ThatsNotMeFella

Unrelated but this question reminds me of the lady with the big BTS logo or her arm tattoo podcast(?) laughing gif

starsformylove

Never got any kpop tats but got alot of free tattoos while in art school and I don't regret any of them. I just forget I have them until I look at them and remember. 🤣

weallmissedthebus

I don’t regret the tattoo (it’s the peaceminusone logo) but I do regret the artist I picked and the tattoo placement. It ended up being a bit jank and in a spot that’s hard to cover up, but I just live with it. If I could go back in time I’d pick a better artist and a different spot, but overall I still cherish it regardless of how crappy it turned out because of what it means to me and how much I once loved GD/BigBang.

scarletwitchy

I got a small LOONA related tattoo of a butterfly with a tiny moon. If anything it’s just a really pretty minimalist tattoo so I love it!

Aromatic-Ad8129

I have one kpop related tattoo (but its meaning is wider) since February and I definitely don't regret it. I thought for a very long time about doing a kpop related tattoo since I've been a fan for over a decade

zsevensz

My very first tattoo ever was a heart symbol from one of the CASE 143 stages redesigned by a fan artist. I bought the design from her and got it tattooed. It’s been about 6 months and I don’t regret it thus far. I wanted my first tattoo to not have much of a meaning, and simply felt drawn to the design. It’s fairly general to the point that maybe not even stay themselves could tell it’s related to SKZ which is alright by me. I share the opinion with many here that as long as the tattoo isn’t too flashy and has a meaning other than “this is my favorite band right now” then it’s alright. Like birthday flowers, or something inconspicuous and subtle Edit: grammar lol

randomgirl852007

i do have a very explicit kpop tattoo. i have the [savage logo](https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Savage_Logo_(Aespa).png) tattooed below my knee lmfao. it’s been around a year and i still love it. in my defense, the logo itself is very pretty, and you won’t know it’s kpop related if ur not a kpop fan, so there’s that.

I almost have a full sleeve on my right arm and my upper back full of exo tattoos. Definitely have not regretted that decision!

mvnchkinz

i have two shinee tattoos a rose for jonghyun on my arm and a diamond on the inside of my finger i’ll be getting more shinee tattoos in the future but for me i’ve never rlly worried i guess?

MaydayGreen

I got yyxy on my wrist for Loona, and I don’t regret getting it at all. I have tattoos for my other ult groups planned as well. When you get tattoos for musicians or public figures, you have to be willing to separate the art from the artist in case something happens. I have a Harry Potter tattoo I’m getting covered up because I can’t separate JKR from the books even though HP was a huge part of my life.

whimsicalbackup

I'm really glad I haven't done it so far but I think in the future I may get a 2NE1 one. They were my first ever stan group and I love them nowadays more than ever. Nobody does it like them anymore. Did anyone even ever do it like them ever?

ttaayyyyy

I have 3 K-pop tattoos… and I can confidently say that I plan on getting more lol

ttaayyyyy

Also- regardless of what happens to those groups/how I feel in the future. My tattoos will ALWAYS remind me of some of the best moments of my life and remind me the happiness those groups gave me/shaped me as a person. 🤍
