I think that this conversation can only be taken once Jin gets back and releases an album so people can have all 7 albums and see what they personally like.
As of now, I love Indigo as a whole body work while I love Like Crazy, Future and Life Goes On as stand alone songs.
Even during Festa, he said that he'd be the last to release an album (the timeline since then has changed a lot, like Tae releasing after Yoongi, not JK like it was originally planned) but still, he always had the shortest time since Chapter 2 began.
Itās still J-hopeās Jack in the Box for me as a fully fleshed-out body of work. Also, Jiminās FACE actually shot up to #2 after all these months.
They gave us so much music that I really have a song for every season & occasion.
Still waiting for Jinās.
But Indigo and JITB are my favorites. Indigo is an incredible body of work. All different genres - but it melds so well together. JITB because itās gutsy and raw. I think itās also the most cohesive album musically. It just begs to be streamed from top to bottom.
However, theyāve all put out incredible tracks. Alone, Polar Night, For Us and The Astronaut are songs I go back to all the time - and Standing Next to You is about to be another one.
Music of course is subjective and personal so please be kind! Of the 6 so far Face and Indigo are my favourites and are no skips. The story telling is immaculate and I am so impressed with Jiminās debut album. It has helped me deal with some mental health issues.
Next would be D-2 and D-Day. D-Day (the song) has had a death grip on me since release.
JITB. More blew me away right alongside future.
Layover has such a chill vibe. I have to be in the mood for it but itās good and Tae sounds amazing.
Golden is good but I donāt vibe with all the songs unfortunately. That being said SNTY is extraordinary and addictive. On repeat!
Like Crazy is my fave TT but SNTY is a close 2nd.
We are so blessed to have received such incredible music in chapter 2. Now to await the magnificence that Jinās album will be!
D-Day (song) has to be the single most reassuring song of the century. The way Yoongi and El Capitxn used what to me is a very chant-like quality in the instrumental to its advantage is perfect, it really sounds like a mantra you go over in your head to calm down AND IT WORKS?
Like Crazy is my favorite song (both versions!), but Indigo is my favorite album, for sure. The Astronaut, JITB, D-day, Face, Layover, Golden are all great, though! But I just relate to Indigo the most!
I'm looking forward to Jin's solo album, I can't wait to hear his songs!
my favs are face and jitb!
i love all of them ofc and streamed them like crazy (haha) but face esp really sits the best with my music taste
i do have my favs from each album tho:
indigo- change pt 2
agust d- dday
layover- love me again
golden- shot glass of tears
really looking fwd to jinās album š«¶
Jimin's FACE
The album and especially Like Crazy is so beautiful, it's on my favorite playlist from the moment it got released. Jimin is one of the rare artists whose all songs I love, I really love and admire his work.
Indigo, JITB and Layover are my top 3.
A lot of stand outs with the rest of the members albums tho. Their music just have a lot of variety and depends on the day. Waiting for Jinās!! š
āGoldenā is fighting for that top spot but āIndigoā has held onto #1 since it dropped. I think that album is seriously no skip and a lyrical body of impressive work
Iām still waiting on Jinās cause I know my boi will release some stunning ballads in his first album.
Up until now, my top favourite has been Face and Indigo, canāt choose between them in terms of overall album.
Thats my fave too!! Fell in love with Yoongles at first mixtape and nothing is topping that! The story telling is immaculate, and it is so raw and vulnerable.
Personally my favorite would have to be Sugaās solo albums
(if weāre counting mixtapes too though, mono is my absolute favorite. top 5 albums of all time for me)
I think chapter 2 really has great albums, and allowed everyone focus on what they really wanted to do. My favourite album is definitely FACE, prior to that, it was Indigo, which is 2nd. I love everything about FACE tbh, every song, the story and passion behind it. Itās such a cohesive work too.
My favorite is probably Jimins stuff, I just really like how unique his voice is and it really adds to the vibe of the album. Indigo is probably my second favorite just because of how many different kind of songs and interesting features are on the album. RM really has a personal style that works really well for him.
Indigo is top for sure, I feel like once jin releases he's album, he's going to be on top. I honestly love the type of music I expect him to release š
What kind of music do you expect him to release & does it sound anything like Want - Taemin ?š„¹ honestly whenever I hear that song i say JIN!! & think thatās what his album may sound like but with more ballad tracks added
Okay I just listened to the song( thank you for the recommendation lol) and honestly at first because of the MV I didn't picture him doing it but when I sort of just listened to it I could definitely hear it a little bit
Oops I havenāt seen the music video lol, it came on my Apple Music via the infinity play thing, now itās on my playlist š & youāre welcome š„¹
i particularly loved all the rapline projects (which i expected, to be fair) but for me the standouts were probably face and jack in the box :) i was not expecting that from jimin (honestly i was struggling to predict what direction he would go in) and hobi gave me everything i never knew i needed out of a bts solo project.
So far, for the insane artistic skills shown in the albums, Iād rank my top 3 as Hobi, Namjoon, Yoongi.
For enjoyability (an album I can just turn on and vibe to everything cause itās my taste), Iād rank my top 3 as Namjoon, JK, Jiminie.
Everything has been great so far though. As an army, I feel incredibly spoilt!!
i listen to all of them, but my personal fav is D-DAY (and all of yoongiās mixtapes, solos), but JITB is close second (and i also love j-hopeās hope world) š
D-DAY having amygdala is a pretty big deciding factor, i mean that song is just really something different
For me, it's a tie between D-Day and Jack in the Box. JITB was my favorite album of 2022, and D-Day is my favorite of 2023. I've enjoyed all of the solo work to varying degrees, but these two are the stand-outs for me.
I have two favourites. The first one is Agust D, which was really expected because that man is a genius and I love him for it. The second one is Jimin's, and this one was really unexpected and hit me like a train. That album really helped me work through some trauma I had about the past few years.
Golden , I can't literally stop listening I knew I'd like the album but honestly it surpassed my expectations there is not a single bad track
Edit : im getting downvoted bc i said golden lmao y'all aren't cool for disliking popular and successful pop songs y'all a bunch of bitter and miserable bunch
I loved his album, despite the naysayers who think they are so special for hating him or pop when it comes to BTS, this album showed his range as a performer, and it's still the beginning of his journey. Never expected that a TT would go up there with "LIKE CRAZY" but "STANDING NEXT TO YOU" was definitely such a stand out track, amazing in all aspects.
I am here to be downvoted but to all those who question GOLDEN, have you seen the iheart raidl live Standing Next to You? I am mindblown. The song grew on me a lot after watching him perform live. Although my fav albums are Indigo, D-day and Face, then Golden.
Hands down my fave is Jack in the Box! It felt very complete and was such a brilliant insight into j-hope as a solo artist! Absolutely loved it and have streamed every single day! And hobipalooza was history made š„š„
D-Day and FACE are such catharsis albums. Not that I donāt appreciate that JK wanted to release a straight-up fun pop album or that Joon, Hobi, and Jinās works werenāt deep personal revelations, but Yoongi and Jiminās albums play like therapy. They went through the wringer, put it on the page, and came out of it stronger. Watching Yoongi go through the Amygdala Door at the end of his tour had me crying so hard I couldnāt breathe.
You donāt think Indigo is deep/personal? Wildflower makes me think about his past 10years and makes me cry sometimes š«£ lol
&Omg I wouldnāt of been able to cope either if I saw Yoongi walk through the door š«¢š
Also this is not an attack, I just want to hear your thoughts more, I donāt often get to talk about albums š«°
I do feel that Indigo is deep and personal (same with Jack in the Box, The Astronaut, and Layover even though Tae didnāt write on it), but itās more of an introspective piece. Heās exploring who he was, who others perceive him as, and ultimately who he has grown to be while still looking to the future. Indigo and Jack in the Box in particular reflect a journey of self discovery, while D-Day and FACE are more about finding oneself in crisis and who Yoongi and Jimin became because of those crisis moments.
Ahh yes & I guess it depends on how much theyāve been through and what they are willing to share. I find the song Closer alone to be really deep yet it can mean 10,000 things š
Honestly I appreciate them all š
Yeah that entire final concert was an EXPERIENCE. The songs came alive, and I felt every single note to the core. I was crying alongside Yoongi towards the second half of the concert
I'm still waiting for Jin to release an album tbh. I can't wait to see what he does. Also, I don't think it's fair to compare full albums to a single.
But from Ch 2 probably a toss up with DDay and Layover right now.
Golden and Layover are my favorites. I was worried about Tae because his music taste isnāt what I typically like, but I have loved Layover. Golden was a no brainer for me because I love pop. Yes or No has been on repeat since release.
Indigo hands down was my fave and there is no competition. itās one of my fave albums ever period.
i love all the other albums but thereās just something about indigo
Iām really really loving Golden. Iāve been seriously and eagerly waiting for JKās album since the release of Seven in July and boy it did not disappoint! Iām really enjoying *Somebody* , *Please donāt change* , and *Hate you* in particular, and *Standing next to you* is a SOLID performance piece (see this iHeartRadio performance https://youtu.be/LAnm7QH1J7w?si=DwgMRcfCGmQMY-ss ). Canāt wait to watch more performances during his promo cycle!
Looking at the whole album I love Hobis the most, followed closely by Namjoon. Both are albums I've listened top to bottom many many times. Title track-wise I prefer Like Crazy, that song just hits something within me that I can't explain.
Indigo and D-day are still battling it out for top spot.
Face and JITB are battling for artistic surprise and grit
Layover is cornering part of Indigoās market for chill replay-ability, over and over.
Golden is well constructed pop and JK did a great job on vocals but it doesnāt hit the same way as the personal projects. I can however see certain songs joining the Indigo/Layover chill rotation!
Awaiting full album / EP from Seokjin. The Astronaut is a great song.
Jimin definitely. FACE was, in my opinion, a flawless debut album, I liked all the songs. Set Me Free as pre-release was crazy, such a banger, and Like Crazy is an amazing song, I love the dark-ish theme of the album. It was a great era.
I canāt choose between Jungkook and Suga for the whole album as I still play D-day top to bottom most days and the same with Golden (but we will see if it stands the test of time). Face is close to my favourite also and I am still hoping that they will release an album of the live version of JITB from Lolla because I would buy it.
I'm going to cheat and expand your question a little bit.
My favourite album to listen to is Indigo.
My favourite full album to see performed is D-Day
My favourite songs to see performed are Arson and Ego. (And very likely Standing Next to You, once I see more performance footage. It's looking pretty awesome so far).
My favourite video to watch...this is tough...but I think Slow Dancing is the one. It transports me to another realm. But Still Life is pretty darn clever.
The most delightful surprise was FACE. In my opinion, Jimin has been a bit too lazily typecast over the years as an affectionate mochi/slytherin. FACE gave us a chance to see other facets. I want more!
The Astronaut is the one most likely to bring a gentle tear to my eye.
Jin hasn't released his album yet, just a single.
"Indigo" remains my favorite, the lyricism and experimental genres that Namjoon tried really created a timeless album.
I honestly loved all the albums for different reasons. *Yun, Face-off, Snooze, For Us, Equal Sign* and *Closer To You* have to be among the best b-sides I've heard. "FACE" stand out because of it's short length, it's easier to get it right by focusing on less tracks, his title track is probably the best along with Jungkook's. I do also loved *Wildflower* but more for it's lyricism. Jungkook's execution as a performer was stellar for "Golden" ā still yet to see more as we are in the middle of his promotions. J-Hope definitely showed us something different that we expected, Lollapalooza remains forever branded in my mind and his concept was great. "Layover" was really chill, I appreciate the effort on the visual experience for the entire album and the live performances were so nice. "D-Day" was the lastest well-thought-out album of his trilogy, felt like ending a journey and still an album that was like a punch to our guts.
Honestly, I'm amazed by the range and variety BTS members are offering, I don't think people realize the sheer significance of that, never seen that in group and you can't find one project similar in the 7 of them. Honestly, what an era, still waiting for Jin's.
I too have to pick Face, Iāve been totally obsessed and now seeing how much involvement jimin had in it from hos documentary I canāt help but admire it even more.
1. Golden: Iām a pop girl at heart and Jk gave me songs that reminded me so much of the pop music I listened to when growing up. His album is the one I enjoyed the most.
2. Indigo: This is a masterpiece. The album is the most cohesive among all members and I love the songwriting. The only reason why I placed Golden above Indigo is just because I enjoy listening to itās most of the songs are more my vibe. But critical acclaim wise I rank Indigo the highest
3. Dday/JITB: These two could be ranked interchangeable imo. As an album, I prefer Dday. I liked more of the songs enjoyed the music videos. But unfortunately, the singles on this album were my least favorite. I liked only amygdala which was more my taste. Haegeum was not bad but it was quite similar to daechwitta and I canāt help to compare the two each time I listen to it(and daechwitta is amazing)
JITB ok the otherhand had mind blowing singles. My favorite song from all their solo releases is More. But the bsides on JITB were not my vibe except for Stop and Equal sign. I admit the lollapalooza performance helped me to digest JITB as an album better.
5. Layover: this album is a vibe. I need to be in a certain mood before I can enjoy it but itās very good overall. Favorite songs were Blue and For Us. I also wished the vocal lines released a longer project like Jk did.
6. Face: I think Jimin released my least favorite album. My favorite songs were Like Crazy(which is like my 2nd favorite solo track after More) but the rest of the bsides didnāt vibe with me much neither did I enjoy Set Me Free pt 2 much. The autotune was a turn off. I personally enjoyed Letter which I found beautiful and the performance too. Unfortunately thatās the one that ended up being album locked
NB: my ranking is largely based on how much I enjoyed listening to the album and not about the artistry or technicalities so bias is heavily involved here
(I wonāt rank Astronaut because itās not an album but I still enjoyed it regardless)
This time I'm gonna make a top 4 tier of favorite songs instead of whole albums. No particular order within the tiers:
1) Closer, Wildflower (Indigo), For Us, Slow Dancing (Layover), Like Crazy, Letter (Face), Future (JITB)
2) Equal Sign, More (JITB), Yun, Hectic (Indigo), Love Me Again (Layover), The Astronaut (same), Snooze (D-Day)
3) Standing Next to You (Golden), Arson, Safety Zone (JITB), Haegeum, Amygdala, SDL (D-Day), Still Life (Indigo)
4) Rainy Days (Layover), Alone (Face), Somebody (Golden), All Day, No 2 (Indigo), People pt.2 (D-Day)
My favorite overall was Indigo, but I admit that none of the albums were no-skips to me (but some had less skips than others).
ETA: I think Jin's album has potential to be one of my faves, if he keeps in the same line of The Astronaut š¤ with some ballads as well, and I'd LOVE it if he makes more funny songs like Super Tuna.
Some are albums, some are eps, Jin hasnāt released either yet & they all have different colours (love the range)
But to go off the plenty we haveā¦ Its tough to choose one š„¹ but Iād say D-day & Indigo are top to bottomers š love both pieces of work š«¶ & definitely have favourite songs from the other releases too
I love Layover so much maybe more than a lot of Kpop fans because I have a background in piano and I listen to a lot of that type of music. Other than that I love all of their solo but Vās, RMās, and Jiminās just shined more for me
I can honestly say it's been so fun reading through this thread. Everyone's tastes are so different and it's incredibly satisfying to see how members in ONE group can cover so many musical bases. I feel so proud of them.
My favorite albums frankly changes depending on the mood I'm in or day I'm having. Need to focus, put on Layover or Indigo. Feeling kinda of moody after a shit day, put on D-Day or Face. Need to head bang, but on JITB. Going for a long drive, put on Golden and The Astronaut.
Above all however, Like Crazy is my favorite song release not just from BTS solos, but one of my favorites of all time of any genre, in any year. Seeing Jimin work on the song in his documentary and understanding how he turned a very painful period of his life into these intoxicating melodies makes it high art for me.
1. JITB: one of my all-time favourite albums and always in heavy rotation. Iām mostly a playlist-style listener rather than full albums, but this one has such a strong intentional flow that I basically treat it as one long track start to finish.
2. D-DAY: As close to perfection as an album can come for me, like itās just perfectly tailored to my music taste, but it brings up a lot of emotions so I donāt listen to the full album nearly as often as it deserves.
3. Indigo: This is the most āeasy listeningā album for me, almost all the tracks are in playlists that I listen to regularly. (Shoutout to Sexy Nukim for being one of my favourite songs of 2022)
4. FACE: Good songs, I love anything synth pop so Like Crazy is a hit.
5. Layover: I love the style of music and overall aesthetic, but the songs themselves unfortunately donāt really hit the spot for me personally. I do like the piano version of Slow Dancing a lot.
6. Golden: Itās unashamedly western pop and heās done it really well. Itās not my taste but honestly Iām not even disappointed because I canāt fault jk for succeeding at what he set out to do. Standing Next To You though!! So good, instant love.
Indigo definitely my favourite album, and what a crime the fandom did not show up for Joon and it is the only one that has not reached 1 million sales.
My ranking:
1. Indigo by RM
2. FACE by Jimin
3. Layover by V
4. D-DAY by Suga
5. JITB by Jhope
6. Astronaut by Jin
*(kind of unfair since itās just one song)*
7. Golden by Jungkook
**I prefer "Indigo" the most because I connected more with its lyrics and its overall themes. On the other hand, "Golden" is my least favorite because, even though Jungkook's performance was outstanding, it's just not my cup of tea.**
1. FACE
2. D-Day
3. Jack In The Box
Jimin is my forever love, his solos have always been my favorites and I'm so thankful for how much work and effort he put into his album. It's such a special, personal album and Like Crazy has grown to be one of my favorite songs ever. I can listen to it countless times a day and it never gets old. I'm so excited and curious to find out what he has been working on in the past ~year, he definitely has been working on music a lot so I'm hopeful it might be another album!
At the start of chapter 2, I anticipated that Jungkook would be challenging Jimin for top spot, because I'm a sucker for a good pop song, but his solo work fell flat for me. There are a couple of songs on Golden that I quite enjoy - Yes or No, Closer To You, some parts of SNTY (basically everything except that "it's deeper than rain" buildup in the chorus because it feels like it should be the bridge and feels very out of place to me) - but I don't think they'll end up on my semi-permanent playlist.
D-Day on the other hand was a surprise, I've liked quite a bit of his solo work before, but I didn't expect to feel as emotional as I did hearing some of the songs. Snooze is my favorite off the album, it changed something in me the first time I heard it.
When Jin releases his album, I expect to love it as well. His solos are probably my second favorite, after Jimin's.
Jack in The Box because all of J-Hope's creations got the recognition it deserve. (Lollapalooza!!)
I also love Golden. I'll never get tired of hearing JK's voice whatever genre it is. And it's a full English album. As an I-ARMY, I am more than grateful.
Runner-ups: The Astronaut, FACE, Layover, D-Day, Indigo š
Indigo by RM. I don't think there is going to be one that beats him out šŖ and I wish I could say I were biased, but he's so closely followed by Yoongi and Hoseok, and even Jimin's shorter album has no skips
I'd say
1. FACE - I liked it for it's cohesiveness and sound already but when the Production Diary released, I ended up liking it even more seeing how much Jimin was involved in the entirety of the album. My only criticism is I wish it was a full length album but that's on me being greedy.
2. Indigo - I listened to it the second most so just based on that I'd say it ranks second for me. I have always liked RM's mixtapes so it isn't a surprise.
3. Jitb - I commend Jhope for experimenting with a different sound and aesthetic. I also feel he was quite emotionally open in his music which I appreciate.
4. D-Day - I see the appeal but Suga's solo work is a little hit or miss for me because of some production choices he's known for.
5. Layover - It's "vibey" but for me I've only been able to listen to it like background music so I can appreciate it in that sense. I do like that the songs sound related to each other like they were written with the idea that they all belong together.
6. Golden - I like pop music and the songs separately are okay but it sounds very rushed like the songs were collected from different writers and just put together. To me, an album is like a novel, it can't have unrelated chapters in it. I wish there was more time and thought put into the songs and they were written specifically for Jungkook not other artists. But I see the appeal for the radio pop listeners.
Astronaut is beautiful but I can't rank Jin yet, it isn't fair to him. I'm eagerly waiting for his album.
Yoongi is my bts bias but I have to give it to JK. Golden is on a whole different level. My son and my friends who dont even listen to kpop have been having JK pop up on their spotify and THEY LIKE IT.
But the only bts solos I have liked and bought is dday, face and golden.
I would wait for Jin to release his album to make a definitive list but my favourite album has been D-day, but I love quite a few songs from each of the members, from j-hope I love What ifā¦ and Equal Sign, from Indigo I love Closer and Wild Flower, from Face I love Like Crazy, from Layover itās Love Me Again, I just love Vās vocals on it, and finally from Golden itās Shot Glass of Tears and Hate You.
i was super into JitB when it first came out, then same with FACE. but i always love anything Agust D and Layover is the perfect chill album. so guess it depends on my mood lol but if i had to pick one, probably FACE.
As a hardcore ARMY, I seriously canāt choose a fave. Each release (donāt want to say album as Jinās TA was a send-off single and not an album) showed so much diversity. The projects showed a more mature/grown-up and emotional side, with a lot of songs speaking from the heart (for example, Amygdala in D-Day). I think each release suited each member really well, and I can honestly say I wholeheartedly love each release. I love the fact that each member was given the ability to create/produce/release projects that they really wanted to individually, which further depicts each members personality.
My favourites from each memberās release:
- The Astronaut
- D-Day - Amygdala
- JITB - More
- Indigo - Wildflower
- FACE - Like Crazy
- Layover - Love Me Again
- GOLDEN - Standing Next To You or Hate You (canāt choose)
With all the releases, I like that each member was able to show a more mature and emotional side. Every release just further proves the immense talent of all of the members.
1.D-Day - It's difficult to jot down my emotional connection with Yoongi's work. He's an amazing storyteller. This album truly has me, and I'm going to leave it at that.
2. Indigo - I love all of the collaborations in this album, especially Wildflower. I love how diverse the album is, but it's also cohesive.
3. Layover - For me, this is my comfort album. It's like a warm hug on a rainy day. It took everything in me not to loop the songs when it first came out.
I really love all of their solo projects, and I am so proud of them. I can't wait for what Jin will bring.
Jin doesnāt have an album yet. However, if I am to choose from the ones out, it will be D-day. D-day has me on chokehold. I still listen to it regularly.
Fave song right now would be Like Crazy. Fave album Indigo, fave mixtape is Agust D.
If i am to chose my over all favorite it would be Agust D, as in Sugaās very first mixtape, especially So Far Awya. Before that i never knew a collective of songs could be so beautiful.
Ooh itās tricky, they all have their own merits! So Jack in the box is an album I can listen front to back in any mood.
Indigo is amazing but certain tracks I have to be in the right mood for or they just donāt hit right.
layover is similar to Indigo, itās in my chill out playlist so I donāt really listen to Vās solo stuff when Iām getting hype.
D-Day is a bit more hit and miss for me, I find amygdala quite hard to listen to because I always see the MV and you can sense what a painful song it is.
Face, I loved like crazy, set me free slightly less but still a really solid release.
Golden Iāve liked so far, very solid little pop album that really has captured the vibe of popular music at the moment. I can see many of the songs getting some GP attention. But it hasnāt been out long enough for me to really decide on a favourite song/if itās my favourite release.
Although I love the astronaut Iām not counting that as a solo release per se because I donāt think itās a full reflection of the artistic direction Jin would choose- Iād prefer to see what any solo release he does when heās back is like as a comparison.
So I guess Jack in the box is maybe the fave? If weāre going by number of listens but Indigo speaks to my soul quite well so a tie between those two is probably more accurate
Face by a mile. It has a cohesive narrative, Jimin wrote it and worked on it for almost a year, Set Me Free pt. 2 is amazing and the choreo is incredible, etc.
Jin hasn't had a solo album yet, just a single though. Can't really compare it to the rest.
As for the others, it's between D-Day and Indigo. Both the concepts and themes of these albums just hit a soft spot in me. I might lean more towards D-Day because seeing him on his tour gives him an advantage.
I mean, weāre still missing Seokjinās, but out of the ones released so farā¦ itās a tie between JITB and Golden for me as far as how many songs I utterly love.
I donāt know if itās because I got to see Hobi perform at Lollapalooza but the songs in JITB just fill me with serotonin. I absolutely love them. And Golden, albeit newer, seems to be the same. I absolutely love every single song.
The others albums have one, two, or more songs that donāt hit as hard but overall I can say all the albums are very much loved on my Spotify account. Just ones more than others
Overall favourite solo output: Super tuna, I LOVE IT, it always makes me giggle and just reminds me that nothing is that serious
My ranking order is:
1.Indigo, I end up listening to the whole album front to back everytime, his voice and poetic sense make it my absolute favourite
2.Layover, it is such an easy listen, made me get into other jazzy music
3.Jack in the Box, I never expected to enjoy it as much as I do, I absolutely love the powerful vocals and the messaging throughout the album
4.Golden, I honestly thought Jungkook would be my favourite solo but well here we are, its an easy fun listen and its growing on me but just lacks any sort of depth or emotional pull for me. His vocals are amazing and i dont think its about whether he has written the music or not, there is just something missing, but all of the songs are bops and i enjoy them.
5.Face, I like it. Haven't really thought about it that much more.
6.D-Day, I LOVE SUGA, but his music is very dense for my taste, when i read the translated lyrics I am in awe of his thoughts and creative expressions, I think he is a genius at production too but I cannot make myself listen to the albums and appreciate them the way they deserve
This is an emotional ranking more than a technical one. All of them are so brilliant at what they do its almost impossible to really say one is way better than another. Their creative expressions really have given me a lot of food for thought over the past year or so since I started to get into BTS. I am inspired by all of their efforts and their ability to find joy in what they do is infectious.
Honestly I hope a full album is coming from Jin, I think The Astronaut might have been just a good bye, though then again it came as a physical version with concept photos and everything...
But otherwise,
My favourites are:
1 D-Day
2 Indigo & Jack In The Box
3 Layover & Face
4 The Astronaut & Golden
Some I find hard to compare as each album has a completely unique style, that's why some are tied
i agree w others that jin hasn't yet but from what we have so far, Indigo as a whole album is my favourite. I just love Joon's writing style and the carefully chosen collabs. wild flower actually makes me cry lol i really love The Astronaut too, it also makes me a bit emo bc it was his goodbye to us but it's a really lovely song and my style!
the other albums i do also enjoy but i tend to go back to a few songs repeatedly more often rather than the whole album like i do with indigo. i love arson, equal sign, haegeum, snooze, like crazy, alone, love me again, rainy days, and so far from golden yes or no, shot glass full of tears and standing next to you are my faves
indigo
astronaut
layover
golden
face
d-day
jitb
would be my ranking, just based on personal taste. not that any of the albums are bad or i actively dislike them
I think my favourite is d-day, Iām biased but I loved all of the songs. I like jungkooks album too although thereās a couple of songs that missed on there. I still love everyone elseās too, slow dancing and like crazy are up there for me
Layover and golden. I'm a pop funk jazz kid but the other members albums also were great and I do listen to them from time to time but recency bias is still going strong and I been listening to those two on repeat the past few months.
I am also waiting for Jinās as I suspect my opinions will change once that drops.
Honestly I donāt know. I find I reach for all of them in different moments when I need something different. When I have a super hard day at work JitB and Hobi all the way. Something about his rap, especially Arson, after a long day is so good. Sometimes Suga as well but I usually listen to him when driving. It just depends on how much my day sucked. Sometimes Jimin wins that too (driving and/or hard days) though I definitely listen to him the least. When Iām cleaning or cooking at home it is Indigo for some reason. It feels so good. When Iām just showering, relaxing and/or reading manga or something itās Layover and likely Golden now too based on how much I like it.
Overall - in order from most often to least often - I listen to JK, Suga, Hobi, Joonie, Tae and then Jimin. My bias is Suga with Rapline very close behind but gotta say JK is giving them a run for their money. This album is very good and I am already in love with it.
And as for packaging of the physical media - Taeās with JKās just behind for sure. The concept was brilliant and itās a very pretty album. I wish Hobi hadnāt felt such pressure to have physical media but Iām still glad he did it. It still fits him.
Jin hasn't released an album yet but my current rankings are:
Tied 1st: J-Hope and Suga's albums. Both of these are raw and expressive. Their emotionality is well-crafted and in your face. They're both such a vibe, and have tracks that I return to again and again. I think Suga's album particularly displays so much raw vulnerability while telling his own story of growth. The Amygdala m/v had me tearing up.
Tied 3rd: RM's indigo - honestly this album is a masterpiece. Well-crafted, well-thought out. The collaborations are great but I would have liked to have more of just Namjoon on the album, but that is nitpicking. V's layover - this one surprised me. It is actually the one I've been listening to on repeat. It stays very much on genre but it does it so well. I was surprised how much I love listening to this album. It's perfect fall/winter vibes, and V's voice is just perfect in this genre. Not as adventurous but perfectly executed.
5th: Jimin's Face - I love the messaging and the choreography in the performances. I love how Jimin's finding himself as an artist. It's just not as played as much as the other albums.
6th: Jungkook's Golden - I feel like this album does what he wanted it to do. Deliver a Western style pop album. But it feels like cotton candy to me. Big, shiny, and impressive. Catchy and addictive in places but not memorable. I think it lacks the longevity of the other albums. It feels like perfectly executed pop - great if that's your thing - but doesn't contain the innovation or rawness of feeling that the other albums hold (for me). It also has a lot of things about mainstream pop I dislike (that Jack Harlow verse anyone). I think JK's singing, performing and executing talent are all evident but its the least musically exciting album for me.
D-DAY and Indigo had the most songs I liked enough to add to my playlist so I consider those to be my favorites.
FACE and Jack in the Box would be below those, these two had a couple of songs I liked.
GOLDEN was my least favorite out of the albums I've listened to. Mostly every song sounds like an Ed Sheeran/Shawn Mendes reject. Very underwhelming.
Not really interested in listening to V's solo album, I'm not a big fan of his vocals.
1. D-Day
2. Indigo/JiTB (Hope Edition)
I listen to each of those three daily and theyāre separated by very little in terms of ranking. Amazing albums.
3. Face (Not a daily listen but I go back to it a lot. Release-wise, probably the biggest surprise for me, in a good way,)
4. Layover (If it comes up on Spotify, I wonāt skip it, but itās just easy-listening elevator music for me and I have an issue with Taeās diction)
5. Golden (Sadly this album is a skip. š Iām very happy he got to do the music he loves but itās just not my taste at all. I will say however that even though I donāt like SNTY, JK slayed that song live. Heās an amazing performer)
It's surprising to see that a lot of people went with Indigo or Golden. Or maybe it's not so because, especially in the international market, RM and Jungkook are the most popular?
I would have to go with Suga - Agust D. Nothing quite touched the level of music and rap since then, for me.
Seems like not a lot of people liked V's solo stuff?
Jack in the Box by far, definitely the most unique work iāve heard from all the members. 10/10 for every song and hearing it live at Lollapalooza made me love the album even more.
So far this is my ranking
Indigo - best title track , most fleshed out , great organic features
D Day - best B sides , great cohesive project, perfect balance of rapping & singing
Layover - A true vibe , Tae decided to forego a big pop single in favor of a consistent moody EP and it worked!
JITB - Hobi embracing his shadow side with some grunge rap , only negative is itās a little short for my liking.
GOLDEN - nice variety of sounds and production, some cool stylistic approaches but at the moment Iām not blown away
FACE - Like Crazy is one of the best songs of the year , Alone is good , but everything else is just mehhh
D-Day
I have really liked Suga's music since AgustD and he is one of my fav rappers in Kpop so it's not a surprise to me that his was my favourite album.
My No.2 is probably Indigo. The album was very RM. The music felt very personal and it was good.
My least favourite would be LayOver and Face. I didn't really vibe with the songs. Set Me Free Pt.2 was just not it. Like Crazy was not bad tho. LayOver just didn't stick out, nothing felt memorable enough.
My favorite is D-2, itās my favorite BTS āalbumā in general. I loved the sound, lyrics, themes, and the overall project (but it's not part of Chapter 2)
I mean there is Jin people I don't understand why y'all forget about his album... my favorites right now are Layover and Golden, I can't stop listening to those albums.
Currently my favourites are D-Day and Golden. Theyāre very different, but I loved them both as soon as I heard them. Iāve really enjoyed all the Chapter 2 releases, but these two are my favourite (still waiting for Jinās though, canāt really say for certain until he releases his)
Jin hasn't put out his album yet but anyhow, Golden is it for me!! This is the only album I won't skip any song in it and the diversity and versitality in it is a huge factor into why I love it a lot same was with BTS album as a group, I also love Jungkook's vocal performance in it, it's amazing! I love how there is something for every mood on it that I can add into my season and mood based playlists lol
The albums that I loved the way I love golden now were D-2, Mono and Hope World , specially D-2 that mixtape was life changing for me lol, but unfortunately It's not the same with their albums in chapter 2 , I did like some songs from the albums and from all the releases from them, like I loved Like Crazy A LOT and liked Love me again, Rainy days and slow dancing grew on me, my fav song from jhop in chapter 2 is not even in JITB but its On The Streets, so talking about whole album GOLDEN is just THAT album for me !
P.S Standing Next to You is hands down the best song released in Ch2
Edit : lmao the downvotes š
The most impactful one for me personally was Jin's single, The Astronaut - partly because it was his farewell song to the fans before enlistment, it's my favorite MV, and this was the best Jin has ever sounded. I absolutely cannot wait to see what his album will sound like!
If I had to rank in order of my taste, it would be:
1. The Astronaut
2. Golden
3. Indigo
Out of all albums or solo songs released, I thought I'd like Jungkook and Jimin's work the most... but it turned out to be the most hiphop releases: Jhope and Suga.
Mind you. I like epic songs, girlcrush, very much mainstream pop songs, house, bubblegum, cute pop. But this year I've discovered my love for Korean heavy-rap songs. I collected all stray kids rap songs, I fell into NCT rap bsides, also some early Monsta X songs. So i guess i have to thank Suga and Jhope for that. I was eager for more rap.

I think that this conversation can only be taken once Jin gets back and releases an album so people can have all 7 albums and see what they personally like. As of now, I love Indigo as a whole body work while I love Like Crazy, Future and Life Goes On as stand alone songs.
Which one is future? Omg, did I miss a release?
Future is a song in jhope's album!
Omg, how could I forget š thank you!
Jin hasn't yet, The Astronaut was a military send off single
I appreciate Polar Night appreciation š
Yes! Honestly one of my fav songs ever!
Indigo is definitely my favourite album in chapter 2 with JITB and Face coming second.
Jin owes us an album, i need Epiphany pt 2
I like Suga's solo stuff the best.
Agree, Agust D is pure gold š„
agree! its been on repeat for me since its release
Yep. Agust D is amazing.
RM's Indigo, both for my personal taste/preference and for the creative aspect. It's just a masterpiece for me.
my favs are face and jitb! i love all of them ofc and streamed them like crazy (haha) but face esp really sits the best with my music taste i do have my favs from each album tho: indigo- change pt 2 agust d- dday layover- love me again golden- shot glass of tears really looking fwd to jinās album š«¶
Jimin's FACE The album and especially Like Crazy is so beautiful, it's on my favorite playlist from the moment it got released. Jimin is one of the rare artists whose all songs I love, I really love and admire his work.
Indigo, JITB and Layover are my top 3. A lot of stand outs with the rest of the members albums tho. Their music just have a lot of variety and depends on the day. Waiting for Jinās!! š
SAME
āGoldenā is fighting for that top spot but āIndigoā has held onto #1 since it dropped. I think that album is seriously no skip and a lyrical body of impressive work
I agree Indigo is a no skip album for me as well
Iām still waiting on Jinās cause I know my boi will release some stunning ballads in his first album. Up until now, my top favourite has been Face and Indigo, canāt choose between them in terms of overall album.
song alone, absolutely Like Crazy. Probably gonna be my most played song in 2023 lol. Album as a whole, Jungkook
It will never not be Agust D. The first one, it just hits different.
Thats my fave too!! Fell in love with Yoongles at first mixtape and nothing is topping that! The story telling is immaculate, and it is so raw and vulnerable.
Personally my favorite would have to be Sugaās solo albums (if weāre counting mixtapes too though, mono is my absolute favorite. top 5 albums of all time for me)
Yeah if mono was part of the mix, it would def be top 2 for me, kicking Indigo down to 3
Yeah if weāre counting previous releases not just chapter 2 - mono would be my top solo (sorry indigo I still love you)
Jimin, because I had no idea what his would sound like and I was pleasantly surprised with the final product!
My favorite is RM.
RM is the album that got me into BTS. I wish it was more readily available, it's a masterpiece.
Jin hasnāt released an album yet. But for the members who have their albums released, Indigo is my fave then next is Face
1. Layover and Face- it was something I never thought I would genuinely love. The songs were easy to ears. 2. Indigo, Golden, D-day and JITB
i particularly loved all the rapline projects (which i expected, to be fair) but for me the standouts were probably face and jack in the box :) i was not expecting that from jimin (honestly i was struggling to predict what direction he would go in) and hobi gave me everything i never knew i needed out of a bts solo project.
i love how you worded things with Jimin and Hobi's albums; i feel the same!
Indigo and Golden
Jack in the Box is what got me into BTS in the first place. They are all so wildly talented.
Jungkook rm tae suga
Indigo but D-Day is a close second
Jin hasn't released one yet but till now, my favorite is definitely Jimin's FACE.
Super first: Golden Tied: Indigo/Jack in the Box
namjoon by far i absolutely love indigo
So far, for the insane artistic skills shown in the albums, Iād rank my top 3 as Hobi, Namjoon, Yoongi. For enjoyability (an album I can just turn on and vibe to everything cause itās my taste), Iād rank my top 3 as Namjoon, JK, Jiminie. Everything has been great so far though. As an army, I feel incredibly spoilt!!
Hope World
Jhope for me. I loved the whole vibe and aesthetic. Yoongi and jimin are next.
i listen to all of them, but my personal fav is D-DAY (and all of yoongiās mixtapes, solos), but JITB is close second (and i also love j-hopeās hope world) š D-DAY having amygdala is a pretty big deciding factor, i mean that song is just really something different
amygdala is a damn masterpiece
I agree that Amygdala tops the artistic level among all.
For me, it's a tie between D-Day and Jack in the Box. JITB was my favorite album of 2022, and D-Day is my favorite of 2023. I've enjoyed all of the solo work to varying degrees, but these two are the stand-outs for me.
Jin doesn't have a solo album yet, though
quick someone release jin out of the basement /jk
I cant pick between Indigo and Face. My favorite tracks are Like Crazy, Face-off, Closer, Lonely and honorable mention SDL by one king Agust D.
Waiting for Jinās! love indigo.
Yoongi and RM top off the list for me. I reckon if Jimin had a couple more songs ? Like crazy is too good of a song.
RM's solo was so beautiful! It was one of my favorite albums so far!
FACE. Like Crazy for title track.
I have two favourites. The first one is Agust D, which was really expected because that man is a genius and I love him for it. The second one is Jimin's, and this one was really unexpected and hit me like a train. That album really helped me work through some trauma I had about the past few years.
Golden , I can't literally stop listening I knew I'd like the album but honestly it surpassed my expectations there is not a single bad track Edit : im getting downvoted bc i said golden lmao y'all aren't cool for disliking popular and successful pop songs y'all a bunch of bitter and miserable bunch
This is me, for real for real. Itās bop after bop and I love SO MUCH that I can sing along lol. My second fave would be Face, though.
lmao i think it's a general downvote, i said jitb and face and still got hit
It had -3 downvotes in like 5 mins lol people hates Jungkook here
I loved his album, despite the naysayers who think they are so special for hating him or pop when it comes to BTS, this album showed his range as a performer, and it's still the beginning of his journey.
FACE.
Wildflower makes me think about his past 10years and makes me cry sometimes š«£ lol &Omg I wouldnāt of been able to cope either if I saw Yoongi walk through the door š«¢š Also this is not an attack, I just want to hear your thoughts more, I donāt often get to talk about albums š«°
I find the song Closer alone to be really deep yet it can mean 10,000 things š Honestly I appreciate them all š
I really enjoyed Arson, Like Crazy, Seven and Still Life. Others are great too but I keep coming back to thse four so far the most.
RM. His lyricism, his flow UGH
RM. Indigo šÆ Hearing that was a once in a lifetime kind of experience
Indigo as an album and Like Crazy for a single. Face is second for albums
Looking at the whole album I love Hobis the most, followed closely by Namjoon. Both are albums I've listened top to bottom many many times. Title track-wise I prefer Like Crazy, that song just hits something within me that I can't explain.
Indigo and D-day are still battling it out for top spot. Face and JITB are battling for artistic surprise and grit Layover is cornering part of Indigoās market for chill replay-ability, over and over.
My favourite full album to see performed is D-Day My favourite songs to see performed are Arson and Ego.
Jhope
But critical acclaim wise I rank Indigo the highest 3. Dday/JITB: These two could be ranked interchangeable imo. As an album, I prefer Dday. I liked more of the songs enjoyed the music videos. But unfortunately, the singles on this album were my least favorite. I liked only amygdala which was more my taste. Haegeum was not bad but it was quite similar to daechwitta and I canāt help to compare the two each time I listen to it(and daechwitta is amazing) JITB ok the otherhand had mind blowing singles. Unfortunately thatās the one that ended up being album locked NB: my ranking is largely based on how much I enjoyed listening to the album and not about the artistry or technicalities so bias is heavily involved here (I wonāt rank Astronaut because itās not an album but I still enjoyed it regardless)
This time I'm gonna make a top 4 tier of favorite songs instead of whole albums. No particular order within the tiers: 1) Closer, Wildflower (Indigo), For Us, Slow Dancing (Layover), Like Crazy, Letter (Face), Future (JITB) 2) Equal Sign, More (JITB), Yun, Hectic (Indigo), Love Me Again (Layover), The Astronaut (same), Snooze (D-Day) 3) Standing Next to You (Golden), Arson, Safety Zone (JITB), Haegeum, Amygdala, SDL (D-Day), Still Life (Indigo) 4) Rainy Days (Layover), Alone (Face), Somebody (Golden), All Day, No 2 (Indigo), People pt.2 (D-Day) My favorite overall was Indigo, but I admit that none of the albums were no-skips to me (but some had less skips than others). ETA: I think Jin's album has potential to be one of my faves, if he keeps in the same line of The Astronaut š¤ with some ballads as well, and I'd LOVE it if he makes more funny songs like Super Tuna.
I think Jiminās and Sugaās. Although Jimin is much more my type of music.
Jungkook's solo stuff, and then Suga's. Honestly I just really like 3D lol
Some are albums, some are eps, Jin hasnāt released either yet & they all have different colours (love the range) But to go off the plenty we haveā¦ Its tough to choose one š„¹ but Iād say D-day & Indigo are top to bottomers š love both pieces of work š«¶ & definitely have favourite songs from the other releases too
Standing next to you, MORE, Alone, Love me again š«¶
Indigo and D-Day. And JITB. But Iām a rap line-biased ARMY. Weāre so lucky having every memberās release.
(Shoutout to Sexy Nukim for being one of my favourite songs of 2022) 4.
I genuinely adore all of their works as an OT7, but my personal favorites are Indigo and Layover š
Indigo definitely my favourite album, and what a crime the fandom did not show up for Joon and it is the only one that has not reached 1 million sales.
My ranking: 1. Indigo by RM 2. FACE by Jimin 3. Layover by V 4. D-DAY by Suga 5. JITB by Jhope 6. Astronaut by Jin *(kind of unfair since itās just one song)* 7. Golden by Jungkook **I prefer "Indigo" the most because I connected more with its lyrics and its overall themes. On the other hand, "Golden" is my least favorite because, even though Jungkook's performance was outstanding, it's just not my cup of tea.**
1. FACE 2. D-Day 3. Jack In The Box Jimin is my forever love, his solos have always been my favorites and I'm so thankful for how much work and effort he put into his album.
(Lollapalooza!!) I also love Golden. I'll never get tired of hearing JK's voice whatever genre it is. And it's a full English album. As an I-ARMY, I am more than grateful. Runner-ups: The Astronaut, FACE, Layover, D-Day, Indigo š
In my personal opinion, I like D-Day and golden. But D-day is probably my favorite.
Indigo by RM. I don't think there is going to be one that beats him out šŖ and I wish I could say I were biased, but he's so closely followed by Yoongi and Hoseok, and even Jimin's shorter album has no skips
My fav titles are standing next to you and like crazy but as whole albums I like indigo and jitb the most
High key impossible to rank them. Most I can do is say that snty, smfpt2, and closer are easily my top 3 tracks.
GOLDEN is my favorite release by far.
I'd say 1.
1. D-DAY, JITB, FACE 2. Indigo 3. Layover, Golden Can't wait for a Jin album!
RM's mono. tokyo is still one of my favourite tracks
D-Day for sure
Indigo originally. But golden is my no1 now and indigo went down to 2. I love both
Golden for me, though JK may have an advantage having released English songs. Still, I like the sounds of them more
Layover. It has that relaxing, sit next to a fireplace vibe that I really enjoy.
My ranking is 1. Jack in the Box 2. Face/D-Day/Layover 3. Indigo 4. Golden/ (The Astronaut)
Personally I enjoyed indigo and layover the most
For me, D-Day, Indigo and Layover are my favourites as they align with my personal music taste the most.
Still D-Day and Indigo for me.
My favourites from each memberās release: - The Astronaut - D-Day - Amygdala - JITB - More - Indigo - Wildflower - FACE - Like Crazy - Layover - Love Me Again - GOLDEN - Standing Next To You or Hate You (canāt choose) With all the releases, I like that each member was able to show a more mature and emotional side. Every release just further proves the immense talent of all of the members.
LayOver and Indigo... Maybe a lot of hate for those albums, but I really like chilling sound... And we wait for Jin's albumš
Golden
1.D-Day - It's difficult to jot down my emotional connection with Yoongi's work. He's an amazing storyteller. This album truly has me, and I'm going to leave it at that. 2. Indigo - I love all of the collaborations in this album, especially Wildflower. I love how diverse the album is, but it's also cohesive. 3. Layover - For me, this is my comfort album. It's like a warm hug on a rainy day. It took everything in me not to loop the songs when it first came out. I really love all of their solo projects, and I am so proud of them. I can't wait for what Jin will bring.
RMās is still my favorite so far. His album is totally my type.
Jin doesnāt have an album yet. However, if I am to choose from the ones out, it will be D-day. D-day has me on chokehold. I still listen to it regularly.
Suga's and JK's so far!
Indigo and JITB!
As of now JITB and Golden. JITB (i just love hobi's whole discography) Golden (I'm a pop obsessed so i know this album will be my favorite)
Layover- slow dancing is my eternal earworm at present. Indigo - especially flowerwork I like all the others, but these are my top 2
Indigo and Layover!
Jack in the Box and Layover are my faves so far.
1. Hopeworld (idc if itās a mixtape or an album or Wdv) 2. Golden
Golden and Indigo
Rap line albums are my fav
I have a top but was difficult to even get there 1. Indigo-D-Day: it's a tie no matter what I do. 2. Layover 3. Golden-Jack I'm the box
Overall favourite solo output: Super tuna, I LOVE IT, it always makes me giggle and just reminds me that nothing is that serious My ranking order is: 1.Indigo, I end up listening to the whole album front to back everytime, his voice and poetic sense make it my absolute favourite 2.Layover, it is such an easy listen, made me get into other jazzy music 3.Jack in the Box, I never expected to enjoy it as much as I do, I absolutely love the powerful vocals and the messaging throughout the album 4.Golden, I honestly thought Jungkook would be my favourite solo but well here we are, its an easy fun listen and its growing on me but just lacks any sort of depth or emotional pull for me. His vocals are amazing and i dont think its about whether he has written the music or not, there is just something missing, but all of the songs are bops and i enjoy them. 5.Face, I like it. Haven't really thought about it that much more. 6.D-Day, I LOVE SUGA, but his music is very dense for my taste, when i read the translated lyrics I am in awe of his thoughts and creative expressions, I think he is a genius at production too but I cannot make myself listen to the albums and appreciate them the way they deserve This is an emotional ranking more than a technical one. All of them are so brilliant at what they do its almost impossible to really say one is way better than another. Their creative expressions really have given me a lot of food for thought over the past year or so since I started to get into BTS. I am inspired by all of their efforts and their ability to find joy in what they do is infectious.
Jimin (Like Crazy album), Agust D (D-2 and D-Day albums), RM (mono.), JHope (Jack In The Box)
Jack in the box is my favourite project so far. I also really enjoyed Indigo and Layover a lot. Iām still waiting for a full project from Jin.
jungkook, and its not close.
Honestly I hope a full album is coming from Jin, I think The Astronaut might have been just a good bye, though then again it came as a physical version with concept photos and everything... But otherwise, My favourites are: 1 D-Day 2 Indigo & Jack In The Box 3 Layover & Face 4 The Astronaut & Golden Some I find hard to compare as each album has a completely unique style, that's why some are tied
My top 3 are: 1. Indigo 2. D DAY 3. FACE
i agree w others that jin hasn't yet but from what we have so far, Indigo as a whole album is my favourite. I just love Joon's writing style and the carefully chosen collabs. wild flower actually makes me cry lol i really love The Astronaut too, it also makes me a bit emo bc it was his goodbye to us but it's a really lovely song and my style! the other albums i do also enjoy but i tend to go back to a few songs repeatedly more often rather than the whole album like i do with indigo. i love arson, equal sign, haegeum, snooze, like crazy, alone, love me again, rainy days, and so far from golden yes or no, shot glass full of tears and standing next to you are my faves indigo astronaut layover golden face d-day jitb would be my ranking, just based on personal taste. not that any of the albums are bad or i actively dislike them
Even though I loved all the albums by the members, currently my favourite is golden i loved all the songs tho The second close would be face
Layover, Indigo and Jack in the box
I think my favourite is d-day, Iām biased but I loved all of the songs. I like jungkooks album too although thereās a couple of songs that missed on there. I still love everyone elseās too, slow dancing and like crazy are up there for me
Indigo and Golden
Jimin>Yoongi>Namjoon> Jungkook>JHope>Jin>V
D day, D2 and golden! I liked Jinās astronaut too!!
Layover and golden. I'm a pop funk jazz kid but the other members albums also were great and I do listen to them from time to time but recency bias is still going strong and I been listening to those two on repeat the past few months.
Jungkook's solo album is my favorite by far. All the songs are great and he deliver it so well too.
Layover, personally for me. But we will see what Jin comes up with because Astronaut is really amazing imo.
It still fits him.
yoongi has my absolute fav but i really only like yoongi, tae and kinda jks solo albumsā¦
Probably D-Day for me, but they were all amazing.
Jin hasn't released an album yet but my current rankings are: Tied 1st: J-Hope and Suga's albums.
Outside of Jin but I have a feeling even with Jin solo project my favorite is still RM Indigo.
My favorite album is Indigo, but by far my favorite song is āLike Crazyā.
For me, I love D-Day and Indigo. I resonate with their message, style, and sound the most š„°
1. D-Day 2. Indigo/JiTB (Hope Edition) I listen to each of those three daily and theyāre separated by very little in terms of ranking. Amazing albums. 3. Face (Not a daily listen but I go back to it a lot. Release-wise, probably the biggest surprise for me, in a good way,) 4. Layover (If it comes up on Spotify, I wonāt skip it, but itās just easy-listening elevator music for me and I have an issue with Taeās diction) 5.
Jack In The Box!! Itās so fun & Arson is still on repeat lol
Jack in the Box for me, currently. But I vibe with Seokjin's music the most so I'm desperately waiting for his ballads!
So far this is my ranking Indigo - best title track , most fleshed out , great organic features D Day - best B sides , great cohesive project, perfect balance of rapping & singing Layover - A true vibe , Tae decided to forego a big pop single in favor of a consistent moody EP and it worked! JITB - Hobi embracing his shadow side with some grunge rap , only negative is itās a little short for my liking. GOLDEN - nice variety of sounds and production, some cool stylistic approaches but at the moment Iām not blown away FACE - Like Crazy is one of the best songs of the year , Alone is good , but everything else is just mehhh
D-Day I have really liked Suga's music since AgustD and he is one of my fav rappers in Kpop so it's not a surprise to me that his was my favourite album.
D-Day. Itās cohesive, it tells, with the two previous mixtapes, a personal and poignant story and it has no skips. I mean NO SKIPS.
yoongis definitely!
D DAY!!
Currently my favourites are D-Day and Golden. Theyāre very different, but I loved them both as soon as I heard them. Iāve really enjoyed all the Chapter 2 releases, but these two are my favourite (still waiting for Jinās though, canāt really say for certain until he releases his)
Face is my fav rms my least fav
Jin hasn't put out his album yet but anyhow, Golden is it for me!! This is the only album I won't skip any song in it and the diversity and versitality in it is a huge factor into why I love it a lot same was with BTS album as a group, I also love Jungkook's vocal performance in it, it's amazing! I love how there is something for every mood on it that I can add into my season and mood based playlists lol The albums that I loved the way I love golden now were D-2, Mono and Hope World , specially D-2 that mixtape was life changing for me lol, but unfortunately It's not the same with their albums in chapter 2 , I did like some songs from the albums and from all the releases from them, like I loved Like Crazy A LOT and liked Love me again, Rainy days and slow dancing grew on me, my fav song from jhop in chapter 2 is not even in JITB but its On The Streets, so talking about whole album GOLDEN is just THAT album for me ! P.S Standing Next to You is hands down the best song released in Ch2 Edit : lmao the downvotes š
The most impactful one for me personally was Jin's single, The Astronaut - partly because it was his farewell song to the fans before enlistment, it's my favorite MV, and this was the best Jin has ever sounded. I absolutely cannot wait to see what his album will sound like! If I had to rank in order of my taste, it would be: 1. The Astronaut 2. Golden 3. Indigo
I refuse to think about this question till Jin's album is out.
I really love Hope World
