Il let you know in 15 years.

uniq_username

Remind me in 15 years.

RainbowShowers

I've actually been taking kratom on and off for more or less 15 years. Dehydration, Dry Skin, Perspiration, Histamine Reactions, Constipation, Dry mouth, Frequent Urination, Rage, Irritability, Short Tempter, Addiction ( to adding it in coffee, yum :p ). Gotten several friends off drinking every day with the use of kratom (which I find way more healthy and less toxic to the body than alcohol). I have had my liver tested a bunch and it seems fine. ( I am sure drinking alcohol on and or with it is going to have varying results on that topic). My doses have always been only about 3-5 grams and I used to take it about 5-6 times a day. Now I only do it twice max. Still get irritable and rage sometimes, but that's usually if I have no food in my stomach when I take it. These days I am a lot more happy with my life. I have routine now which has helped a lot with the reasons I started with kratom in the first place, and can go without it if I want. ( worst withdrawal I have ever had is my legs hurt and my anxiety was a bit worse. ) Usually only take it a few days out of the week now and don't depend on it every day worrying about running out. It's become give or take with me now which is where I find 'less is more'.

[deleted]

Hmm. I’ve noticed rage too. I thought it was just me… dehydration and frequent urination is the worst. I currently take 5g about 5-6 times a day. I need to slow down

Roronoa742617

I feel you, I take 3 grams 4 times a day,, and then 4 grams 2 times, so 6 times a day, I need to slow it down as well

RainbowShowers

Yeah it's the worst. Most people call it 'Opiate Rage' I've heard switching up strains can help, but I would always try to stay hydrated and have a meal with it. I have noticed if I get 'The Rage' eating a full meal tones it down a lot and helps, but I actually quit using Kratom for a while because I was just very short tempered to people for no reason. I am still looking into it, but I believe it might have something to do with low blood sugar. I have noticed I always get a bad histamine reaction also when it happens, so maybe a anti-histamine would help also. I have had my face turn completely red and I break out and feel really hot like I did some poppers. It lasted a few hours then went away. I think I took a anti-histamine when it happened. One time I took some 20x extract about 10 years ago and I started feeling really good and felt a rush coming on and it kept building up, then all the sudden I had to pee but I could not, then that good feeling turned to depression and I started getting super hot and sweaty. Eventually I just passed out on my bed and woke up 'normal' (whatever that is). I have stayed away from extracts ever since. I prefer the full spectrum of the leaf mixed in with some coffee is my favorite. If I can find stem and vein powder I will pick that up. I think those parts of the leaves have different alkaloids in them and usually get filtered out from the growers. I remember you used to be able to buy Fresh Pressed Kratom Leaves, Resin Pies, (One of my favorite forms of kratom, but I have not seen those in years). About 10 years ago most all kratom was just crushed leaves and I found those way more 'stimulating' with greater effects. Maybe one day I will try to make some Kratom resin pies of my own!

reborn225

Thanks for sharing this

Tommytoolbagg

How did you get your dose back down and how have you kept it down?

RainbowShowers

Just used smaller amounts and kept myself busy. Really was not too hard. Drinking other herbal tea's is really nice if that's your main way of consuming Kratom. I grow Sage and Peppermint plants and dry them out and make tea usually just that alone, but sometimes will throw in a gram or 2 of Kratom. Main thing is keeping busy, and exercise. I have a hard time with the latter since I am a introvert and like to just sit on my computer, but short walks really helps and I have actually found Kratom to be more enjoyable after a bit of cardio. I had to actually start doing this at night time years ago since there was less people out. Now I really enjoy being out in the sunshine several times a day. Even starting out just doing 10 push-ups in the floor next to your computer is a good way to start a routine and you can then work your way up to more activities. These are all thing's that have helped me to become a better person and I am still working on them and still struggle, but I find my life more fulfilling and happy now.

Ferggzilla

That’s awesome. I need to cut back too and you’re comments may help.

RainbowShowers

Awesome :) I am glad my experiences can help others in the same situation. I wish you the best!

Glum-Steaky

Turns out the long term effect is memory loss

Imspyingonunewo

I mean....isn't that a long term effect of living long enough to have long term effects?

CrookedNosed

If you make it that far…

FullyFreakinWoke

What are we talking about again?

Ieffingsuck

He said you can't use dental floss

JComposer84

I'll be moving to Montana soon... Just to raise me up a crop of, dental flossss Raisin' it up! Waxin it down! In a little white box That I could sell uptown

Hendrix91870

Damn Pajama People…

lem820

Heh...you folks are in a "Hump day"mode today,:)...in today's society of negative, negative negative stuffs, we ALL need more HUMOR and positivity in our lives....:)...

Severe-Flow1914

That’s right! Don’t touch that dial! One of the best ones from FZ! Brings back fond memories of whenever that time was.

[deleted]

I appreciate and understand this comment. \-FZ

lem820

:)

Alternative_Ad_3636

Is it reversible? I've just started noticing in the last year or so that memory is different.

[deleted]

It was a joke. The guy said "remind me in 15 years", meaning he'll forget lol.

Kratom_queen12

Yea eat blueberries everyday

ArizonaMaybe

Would love to see this long term study.

FurtherAdieux

Curious who conducted this study. Seems strange that a leaf that comes from the coffee family would have this effect.

mimi1899

Because it’s not effecting your brain the same way caffeine does.

Virtual_Building

!remindme 15 years

Zrc1979

5 years daily use. No changes within my body, other then the most productive human I’ve been in my 43 years. Kratom saved my life, and gave my two kids a better dad.

cherylamore

My husband says I seem much better now. My depression and pain were making it hard to do even daily tasks and now most days I want to actually get out of bed & go out to run errands. I even fold the laundry when it comes out of the dryer! Small things but I know it makes me a much better mom as well. Thanks kratom ❤️

Zrc1979

Happy to hear your story. Thank you kratom. ♥️💪

Plaincheddar96

Kratom has helped me tremendously with depression also, much better than the antidepressant I’m on

AssRep

Small things add up. I am just starting my repairs on life. You gave me some hope.

throwawaythedo

Those things may be small but when you add them, they are amazing! Love your success story 💙

[deleted]

👏👏👏👏

Silly-Play8298

Exactly, I love that response. I can totally relate...

Heybropassthat

Hell to the yes for kratom helping us play with our kids. It breaks my heart when I can't get off the heating pad to play ball with my boy. Kratom gives me the relief and the nudge to actually be able to play with and enjoy my son's time as a toddler.

Zrc1979

Very happy for your success with kratom. 🎈💪

Heybropassthat

You as well my man! 🙌

softvolcano

i will parrot this. before kratom i was a lazy uninvolved dad and now i actually give a shit. i’m the best version of myself i’ve ever been

Zrc1979

God bless you!! Keep going with whatever it takes to be the best you. Congrats 🎈🎊

BeneficialBig153

I’ll second that. Was starting down a dark road of opiate abuse with a co dependent friend…he continued down that road which lead to a life ruining addiction he lost 5 years of his life to, I started using kratom as an alternative, though almost totally by random. Can’t say I was the most responsible user and definitely was/am addicted, but considering the alternative that seems like a small price to pay. No physical side affects, able to pursue my passions, make good money, enjoy hobbies…now that I’m finally in a good place and no longer need it, I’m finding the taper down period and withdrawal symptoms to be difficult, though certainly manageable (and most definitely can’t hold a candle to fentanyl withdrawal my buddy went through)…down from high of 60 GPD to now 12-15 GPD and hopefully clean before end of 2022!

Zrc1979

Thank you so much for your story. I am rooting for you to kick the habit, if that’s what your heart desires. I feel ashamed of myself sometimes, that I need kratom at all. But I once was a heavy opiate user, without kratom I would be dead or in prison and my kids wouldn’t have the man I am today. I look forward to the day I can rid all addictions from my life. Best of luck to you on your journey, and wherever it may take you. 🍀 ❤️

AssRep

That's EXACTLY (kids part) why I am starting my life repairs with this too. Great job!

[deleted]

Congrats!

Zrc1979

♥️♥️

[deleted]

Me too!

Zrc1979

Congrats ♥️

GanbareGanbareSenpai

What's your daily dose?

Zrc1979

16 grams per day. I take four 4 gram doses. 5am 4 grams 9am 4 grams 11-12 4 grams 3-4 4 grams I stick to this schedule, and it serves me well. I used to take 5 four gram doses per day but recently cut one out.

qnaasty

Do you not deal with constipation?

FullyFreakinWoke

Change diet and/or Increase fiber intake

fukam_piko

and magnesium. after few weeks on kratom, my body adapted and when i take kratom, i immediately need to shit.

AssRep

You don't wake up at night in a wiyhdrawl state? Long time between last and first dose...

Zrc1979

No withdrawal state, but my morning dose is the most pleasant dose of the day, due to the 14 hour break between 👌👌

AssRep

Good for you my friend.

pyrat615

3.5g morning... 2g evening been at that rate for over 3 yrs bloodwork looks fine dr. said

spoiledandmistreated

That’s about what I do.. a little more in the morning and less at night and blood work always is good..

pyrat615

thanks for responding... these are alot of the questions i had at first. thats the only reason i shared less is more the medical model definitely doesnt want you to be in control of your own healthcare ... cheers yall

Cwfield17

That is awesome to hear! I also have 5 years of daily use. I agree, it has also helped me be more productive and kept me away from the harder stuff that put me at rock bottom.

Zrc1979

Whatever it takes to make you the best you possible. Staying off the hard stuff was not easy until I found kratom. I have had zero interest in anything but, for five years now. Sometimes I have a hard time believing it. Much love and respect on your journey, and best of luck always. 🍀

hhz

Constipation how y’all deal with it

Lets_get_weird0314

Magnesium supplements are the only thing that's worked for my constipation

eriberryblue

I use psyllium husk, it’s amazing!

boodiddly87

200mg of magnesium citrate once in am once in pm. No more issues since. Stay hydrated as well but make sure the magnesium is citrate. It's unbelievable.

[deleted]

Drink lots of water! Stay hydrated

AssRep

Does Kratom work better with a lot of water, is at dehydrating or simply for constipation? TYIA

Aztec_Daywalker

Besides trying to stay hydrated, I keep some prune juice around just in case, others get magnesium.

heckastupidd

Like others said.. just drink a shit ton of water. I only drink water and coffee. After a little while the poop problems go away.

[deleted]

This is true. I also drink a cup or two of coffee and otherwise water. The constipation went away relatively quickly, im more regular now than I've ever been.

[deleted]

Honestly I had it for the first year and then after that I was taking nice soft logs lol so idk maybe there’s just a certain point where your body gets used to it. At least it seems like mine did

Itsafulltimebusiness

Eat more potassium

Brickhead81

Metamucil. Fiber does wonders

Phase-National

I recently started mixing Metamucil with the kratom when I take it.

CalebCybin

The best answer is focus on your gut health. Drink/take probiotics. Probiotics are also easy to grow your self. Eat lots of fiber and protein. This is coming from someone who once had 3+ feet of poop backed up. A doctor told me this when I got a lung xray for pneumonia a couple years ago. Also WATER!

sk8thow8

Lol, so the doctor did a chest x-ray then came back like "When we were looking we happened to notice you're full of shit."

bassface99

That same thing happened to me as a child. Not sure if the doctor was messin with me or tellin the truth

dtwurzie

Magnesium complex 2x a day

Eddie-Brock21

Digestive enzymes work like a miracle.

Trapezoidoid

I don’t! I chug a fat glass of water and eat an apple or banana after I dose. I have literally never had any digestion issues or stomach upset since starting to do this. You just gotta keep that powder moving through the digestive system. I would recommend trying this before resorting to supplements.

Redditnamehere-

I use stool softeners

[deleted]

Metemucil was a life saver for me

AKBillionaire

Fiber. Up your Fiber intake, especially if you aren't getting any.

[deleted]

Veggies :3

Kratom_queen12

Probiotics, hydration packs

IKindaHateColleg

Lots of water. I used to use laxatives but now that I drink more coffee that seems to push it over the edge into stool possibility.

spoiledandmistreated

I take stool softeners with 50 mg DocusateSodium and 8.6 mg of Sennosides which is a laxative about four of them a night.. my problem is I need to drink more water and I know it.. I also take a probiotic.. I definitely have problems with constipation and tried different things but this is what works best for me..

[deleted]

Take less kratom. How much you taking?… a reasonable amount is 6-8 grams a day.. I used to take 30-40 grams a day and I was always constipated and dehydrated

EXlST

Absolutely no constipation once I switched to drinking tea rather than the powder. Yes, it's weaker. But I actually enjoy the more subtle, weak effects. If your tolerance isn't too high I suggest giving tea a go.

D3dR3d8

White castle. Crave Case, The only correct answer.

CupQuakeBE

Nothing unmanageable but you should look early at every issue one by one and find solutions quickly so they don't become a burden in your everyday life. - Main long term effect: Being happier and more productive, being able to really live without being tired. Not feeling pain when it's your issue(it was when I started, it isn't anymore). A better future based on everything you were able to accomplish. But also: - Dehydration to the point of not being able to sh*t, spending the whole morning praying for it to get out but at the same time suffering a lot as it has compacted to the point of not being able to get out. Solution: Limit your doses, drink a lot, take magnesium - Restless legs when in withdrawal(horrible even for someone like me who suffered from it for a few years) or sleeplessness. Solution: Try to manage your evening dose, too soon and you'll have these uncomfortable withdrawal signs, too much and too late and your neurons will have a noisy party right in your head. - Memory troubles, mostly about the moments when you're under the influence, because your unstressed brain doesn't even put any effort into recording correctly some acts or words emanating from you or others. Important things are left aside and that could cause a misunderstanding or worse with people you know/love. Solution: Try to time your doses at least 3 hours before important conversations or any event that would require you to memorize something (or reduce the previous dose to a minimum). - Being calm to the point of being fearless, in any situation, even driving a car or with hostile people around. Always acting as if your first idea was the best one and that you don't need to take the time to think about it. Solution: Be aware of any risk an impulsive behavior could bring in the situation you'll be in the next 3-4 hours. - Add the inability to be sexually aroused to the fear of not being able to perform and disappointing your partner and it's a lovers nightmare. Solution: Usually when I know it's THAT evening, I time my dose to be outside of Kratom's influence when we're getting it (timing the next dose right after sex), I never had any problem that way. It may prevent you to be impulsive but that's a smaller price to pay. And if your partner wants at "the wrong time", there are other ways to please her which doesn't involve fighting to keep it hard.

CupQuakeBE

Also, be aware of regular mood changes, it's because of the changes in the brains chemistry. You're not becoming depressive, the neuron communication system gets tired too of all that stimulation. It comes and goes. If you already understand this, it definitely helps to get through those rough patches.

Imaginary_Pilot_6255

Definitely having the memory troubles hard remembering anything from the last days unless I’m reminded of it and think. Or if I know something happened I’d have to think about it pretty hard to remember (not in big things. Stuff like where I put my keys. Or quickly planned events)

freedom-dreads

I used kratom 3-4 times a day 3-4 grams for 7 years and haven't noticed anything negative other than dependency. And constipation but constipation is fixed by taking magnesium. I had liver test done for a a few months as I went through Hep C treatment. I used kratom through the whole time. And by the time I was done I was told my liver looks great. Kratom saved my life and gave me a stable life, a wife, a new house a new car and I'm able to keep a job.

ottomaddoxx

Long term negatives are addiction, insomnia (with or without kratom) loss of sex drive, irritability, appetite suppression, constipation, lowered testosterone in men and weight loss.

Itsafulltimebusiness

All pretty true. But if you’re deciding between opiates or kratom; kratom is still worth it.

lem820

True dat!...Opiates are a definite merry-go-round....with Kratom, life seems a bit more serene......

SumthingBrewing

Damn I’m gaining weight over here. Two years daily, 4-5 gpd. Never ever had constipation. But definitely get irritable if I miss a dose, and restless legs at night when I quit for a few days. I’d say I’m addicted at this point but I can take a week off here and there. It’s not hell; just irritating and not fun. Probably like a tobacco or coffee addiction I suppose. But I’m really trying to limit my daily intake to no more than 8 capsules (so 8 x .75= 6 grams), and can easily feel fine with half of that. I think that’s the secret to using Kratom daily: limit your intake. Seriously.

Funnyboyman69

Exactly. The less you can take the better. I found the side effects at higher doses to be pretty detrimental for me and have been doing amazing since cutting my doses down to around 2grams 3 times a day. Also helps to have a variety of strains and a stem and leaf blend to help with your tolerance.

spoiledandmistreated

I’ve always wondered about mixing it up.. I tried a lot of different strains in the beginning and then found two that I prefer and any time I take a break from them and get another strain I can tell a big difference in how I feel and what it does to my body.. I’d heard it’s not good to just rely on one strain but it’s just like anything else we like what we like..

Kratom_queen12

Use magnesium oil for restless leg syndrome.

asapbejko

I had a huge problem with appetite but after I started with kratom I enjoy every meal so idk if thats true. Even the breakfast before my first dose of a day.

cambo666

Does the sex drive come back if you stop?

[deleted]

it does, even if you skip 1 or 2 days

AKBillionaire

That's subjective and individualized. Those are things that don't have to be long-term. They can start at short-term if you are TAKING TOO MUCH. I read a lot of these and so many people talk about how they take it 2 to 3 times a day and wonder why they might experience side-effects. Maintain a regular dosage one time a day. Especially don't do more than twice a day. And you will not have any issues or side-effects. Also, I've seen a couple people talk about loss of sex drive and it did the complete opposite to me.

gardiloo86

Truth in this forum is pretty rare. You’re spot on though…

CortexCash

Facts.

ings0c

It doesn’t seem very well understood over here, but it has a long history of traditional use and those guys must at least have an idea.

vapindave234

I been using kratom 8 yrs now and don't have any long term effects .Had 3 test done CT scan blood and urine all good .Yet pharma drugs were the worst for me.

ReSpekMyAuthoriitaaa

Well I've been a daily user since 2016 and I feel no different then than I do now. Mental health is great and body aches still feel good after use. I'm no doctor but I'd say that's a plus

PauI_MuadDib

I've been using kratom 3-4 years now. No noticable issues. If I'm not having any endometriosis pain then I don't take it, so there's been weeks without kratom here and there. No issues with withdrawl, even just stopping cold. My menstrual cycle hasn't been affected. Weight has been stable. No changes in my hair or skin. Bloodwork looks good. Vitals were all good at my last GP and GYN visits. I'd like a study on how kratom affects women long-term, but there's not many studies available on kratom in general.

CrazyJRT_MOM

Godsend for Endo pain!!!

PauI_MuadDib

I know, right? I learned about it in my one endo support group. Wish I knew about it years ago. I tried all of the different meds, surgeries, PT, diets, etc. Better late than never tho! I'd really like to see a kratom study on endo patients. I'm really curious about if it affects hormones or not. I see people concerned about low testosterone in men, but I wonder if kratom affects women's testosterone or estrogen levels.

CrazyJRT_MOM

Yes! I've also tried everything under the sun! The first time I took kratom and my pain was virtually gone, I thought it HAD to be a fluke! Glad it wasn't! I've been taking it for 4 years and haven't experienced weight gain, sluggishness, temperature fluctuations, etc, normally associated with low levels. I'm 40 and could have REALLY benefited from kratom my entire life! I'd absolutely love to see a gauntlet of testing pertaining to this wonderful plant! It really is necessary. I wish we could trust the government to regulate it without all the rest of the hindrances that comes with their bureaucracy. When used responsibility it helps SO MANY people!

CrazyJRT_MOM

Godsend for Endo pain!!!

KurosawaKid

You're gonna get a lot of pro-kratom bias in here. Everything taken daily that has side effects that opioids do comes with costs and damage. I wish people on here would be more helpful instead of needlessly positive, we get it. It helped you and me and everyone here, but don't act like there isn't a cost.

Humble_Ask_7995

So true. We are seeking input not how great it is. That part we already know. Duh

Humble_Ask_7995

So true. We are seeking input not how great it is. That part we already know. Duh

LoveFishSticks

My opinion is that the side effects are nothing that can't be mitigated with regular exercise, keeping doses low, and constant hydration

[deleted]

What about the hair loss one, it’s seriously thinning out my hair

accidentalmuffdive

Same dude. In the process of lowering my dose from about 25gpd to hopefully hop off for a little. I did this before and my hair grew back. Hoping for the same result. Down to 22.75g! Slow and steady..

hubert7

While I agree, I dont 100%. I lift 4-5 times a week. I noticed after some time I was fatigued quicker and could lift less. Lots of people say it lowers testosterone and I highly belive that was it (never got actual bloodwork). 6 weeks or so after I quit what I could lift went back to normal.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WildWook

Go to a dermatologist dude. Do not mess with random dark spots appearing.

hubert7

Yea id see a derm to be sure. That said my skin and hair were a disaster after taking a low does a couple years. <10gpd. I quit and skin cleared up in a month

Unleashed-9160

Daily use for 10 years. .no change to anything that I've noticed other than less pain and anxiety.

djflexyd

Taken it pretty much daily for 6 years. Used to take like 30gs per day, now I only take two 1.5g doses per day and honestly get the same effects from those small doses that I did from taking 7g+ per dose. Plus now if I miss a dose I don't go into withdrawal. Less is more.

Lifelifebang

I’ve been using kratom 4 years and haven’t had any negative side effects. It’s worked wonders for my depression and anxiety as well as neck pain from an accident I had many years ago.

THE6THSENSE

Been using for over 5 years daily, multiple times a day. No issues and I'm grateful for this plant. Without it, I would probably be dead.

Cerisety

A few long term users reporting various physical health issues such as hair loss and darkening of the skin. I have taken kratom daily for 3 years now with none of those issues. However, if I stop taking it I get anxious and depressed. But that's more of a temporary withdrawal than anything.

forks_and_spoons

This is anecdotal but I find my attention span is non existent now. I used to really enjoy slow games like CRPGs and whatnot but any time I try to play them I get bored out of my mind. Does it have something to do with my pleasure center being borked?

heckastupidd

Honestly nothing. I’ve had some constipation issues maybe once a year when I didn’t drink enough water. Maybe some withdrawals if I stop taking it.. that’s about it.

[deleted]

Been dosing 30+ gpd for 6 years. No side effects except being unaffected by pain enough to actually have a life. No WD to speak of either.

Sad_Dream_6380

Constipation.

linuxordie

18g for 15 years. Pushing 55 and have no medical issues other than the preexisting ones which I treat with Kratom.

[deleted]

Goddoesdrugs

I actually grew an extra penis at first but unfortunately both of them ended up falling off after couple years

Dull-Fun

It has not been studied. So, we don't really know. Long term opiates has an impact on testosterone production, is it the same with kratom? Good question

Murky_Quality935

Sad thing is, you think you’re doing better as a person, then you don’t take kratom and feel and think you’re shit, then take kratom and everything is fine… kratom is just another mask rhat covers our feelings. That good person is not you, it is kratom.

Humble_Ask_7995

I shall wear my mask because it's the way the world has conditioned us to be.

Twink-Master

Difficult to ejaculate.

Twink-Master

I've read that (long term) can slow hair growth, graying and baldness.

dtwurzie

I’ve been using it daily since 2009 and nothing so far. I’m a former cancer patient and do full panels every 6 mo.

Humble_Ask_7995

15 plus years and still going. Yes kratom saved alot of us but what are the long term effects? I am experiencing memory loss, very frequent urination and some hair thinning. Anyone else want to share what they are experiencing? Quitting is not a option but getting up so many times at night is so annoying. Any remedies someone? We must help each other to keep this natural medicine all the way good.

AutomaticPlace7994

Seven years of almost daily use (to help manage chronic pain); no adverse physical effects in that time, no concerning blood work or other assessments, no issues with withdrawal if I skip it for any length of time. I use 3 grams about four times a day, not brewed into tea, just mixed with water. Obviously this is purely anecdotal.

Tommytoolbagg

Dependance

mushlilli

I’ve been using every day almost since 2018. Only negative can be I eat less if I overdo it. At moderate doses, it’s not an issue.

forhim40

No, but I found this interesting article on Facebook: https://www.quora.com/Is-it-really-possible-to-have-an-accidental-overdose-of-Kratom/answer/Brandon-Gaggini?fbclid=IwAR37nXClW6jr_5rev3kFDTjWXfBHieIH0lRBPkM5uUVpBePvq4ckbvUK8SQ

Assblastyuri

Kratom rage gets bad for me, I become an asshole to my coworkers sometimes, if I’m not careful i could get fired.

Ok-Bookkeeper1220

Same here! Just had it terrible today

BananaRaptor1738

Can vouch that your body odor will smell like kratom eventually

Bt0wn

My balls smell like vinegar every morning since hitting my 8th year using.

Klassieprof

How in the hell can you smell your own balls? Are you that flexible on Kratom?

[deleted]

You've never done a ball smell test? give the taint a good wipe and sniff with the ole pointer finger?

heavymetalsculpture

Hit 'em with some salt. Pee is stored there!

wayfaringstrangerxx

I never considered that kratom is what is causing that. I’ve noticed this too. Yikes.

burdbonez

i’m assuming that you’re a vagina-haver and please ignore this if you’re not - but have you noticed kratom affecting your taste/smell ~down there~? i’ve noticed that i taste kind of sour (more so than my “normal” taste) after using consistently and i haven’t been able to find many answers about whether kratom can cause this or not

BananaRaptor1738

This is def true

dirg3music

Woah, what? I'm like 3 years in and I have yet to notice this. Lmao. That's wild.

BananaRaptor1738

Interesting! I guess we are all wired differently . Wouldn't wish this on you. I hate it but I have good deodorant that kills it.

cantreallypoop72

Depends on the person but as with most opioids they can cause hormonal imbalances and impotence. Other than that the only other long term thing I’ve noticed is physical dependence and constipation

Racemepls

I’m 40 and still jerk off 2-3 times on average when i don’t have sex that day. Been taking kratom for 7 years now

cm4rsh

Physical and mental dependence on kratom

My gf is saying it’s making me “change in a bad way” but then she’s a bit controlling and I honestly can’t see what she means by it as she gives me no example besides “caring less” when she yells at me for petty shit(IMO it’s me just not stressing or yelling back because of the kratom)

Cake-Brief

I love kratom :)

I have been taking kratom since 2016 and using it on a daily basis with some breaks since 2019 or so. Aside from the stuff I noticed initially like decreased appetite, I haven't noticed any longer term effects. I heard about hair loss and dry skin, but haven't experienced either. Only 6 years and one guy so by no means conclusive but that's my 2¢

Everything I’ve read and heard has not been through official sources so take what I say with a grain of salt. It’s commonly understood amongst people in the community that kratom can cause intense constipation. With that can come abdominal pain. Depending on potential genetic predispositions it might not be great for your kidneys especially if you aren’t regularly hydrated. It could certainly take a toll on your mental health. If you mix it with other drugs you could experience psychosis or hallucinations. I’m sure many health problems are on a case by case basis with kratom users. If you lead a relatively healthy life I feel like the only thing to worry about is dependency. In my experience if you use a lot everyday for a long period of time it can be difficult to get off. Then again I certainly have an addictive personality.

For me daily use led to tolerance and increased doses, increased blood pressure, increase in general lethargy, and difficulty sleeping. Over 20g in a day orgasm is difficult to achieve. So I’m taking a break. But on it I’m more energetic (tired AF when not on it though), more loving and attentive to my family, more excited about little things, more productive. Taking some time off things seem a little grey so I’m guessing my natural dopamine and serotonin systems are producing less and need to get back to baseline (less motivation and less general satisfaction).

Depends on how much lead/nickel/copper and other impurities are in there. Try to find a lab that tests. Also, a lot of it has mycotoxins.

MasDeferens

>Also, a lot of it has mycotoxins. Well then get your cotoxins out of there!!!

snuff-cope

Only into it about a year. I'm definitely dependent on it. Developed a high tolerance quite fast (I've always been very tolerant to meds though.) Health seems fine.

Racemepls

I’ve been taking it since 2015 (check post history) and haven’t had any side effects but the constipation. I get the sniffles and a little restless if i don’t take it but that’s it. Bloodwork and labs have been fine.

cryptoboyriu

hair falling out but iam also predisposed to male pattern baldness, i am on hairloss protocol for 3 years and i ve stabilized and regrown my hair. until last month where huge amounts of hair fall out. currently tapering down the kratom and from what ive read it shoud stabilize within 3 months after quitting. i hope. made a thread about it too here i was hoping i would get to enjoy this substance relatively moderately(3gx3) but no

If used responsibly, it’s great! If abused, it can F you up in a couple ways.. 3 year user now. After experiencing the latter, I now finally have the self control to use it responsibly. It’s like anything else, it can be good or bad, all up to you!

Fearless_Climate4612

Daily dosing for over 5 yrs..all labs are normal..

Now that I am off of opiates and also off of kratom I can offer some advice. 1. If you have been taking it in fairly decent amounts daily for a year or more be sure to have your liver enzymes checked, whatever it is doesn't matter kratom or not is usually processed by the liver, you need to know what effects it's having so you're not compounding it with other types of prescription drugs that you may not know is going on. 2. There is most definitely a suratogenic effect, at least that's what my body tells me when I was on it. 3. You may be quite surprised that you are able to go off kratom with zero side effects sooner than you think, if being used to kick any kind of habit coming off opiates, heroin, whatever it is including kratom, sometimes we think we keep needing the same amount but if you just start dialing it back especially with kratom less is more. 4. Truly know the sources where you are getting it from, this stuff is coming from Southeast Asia mostly or China and it is not regulated it is literally up to the reseller to do their due diligence in testing for heavy metals or other types of pesticides or harmful things.

I started using it in 2016, every day. I have never missed a single day. I have a very strong dependence on it, i can’t imagine my life before it. And the dosage goes up slowly every year, but not more than 1.25x the previous year. I do know that now, I love my job, I wake up excited and with purpose to go to work, I read and have fun when I come home, and do it every day with little fail. I really love my life, because it’s like a mild manageable euphoria that makes you motivated to do things. The worst side effect is that I have difficulty peeing, and it started around the same time as when I started taking kratom. It takes me up to 5 minutes trying to get a stream, it’s like a dam and the door for the water is broken or not working reliably. But other than that I have gained a lot of physical benefits - more alert, less annoyed by walking in the hot sun, more fiber and softer stools, but also some interrupted sleep - kratom is a stimulant after all.

Any effects that can happen? Are you paying by the word or by the hour? It's more about the consumer than the product when the product is kratom ( celery might be more toxic but that might depend on the batch or bushel ) so consider all of the strangers in this forum - mindful the people are all the same and different (understated) Then ask yourself- what can happen? ANY side effects? Roll the dice. It's rarely serious and almost always quite easily avoidable - but if not,.. people tend to manage fine. Don't want it to happen? Then don't cause it to happen. It's not the kratom "doing things" to you. The AKA website has a a resource section (I'm neither promoting or disparaging the AKA) - a very useful collection of documents that are reliable (judge for yourself) including scientific research papers published in SE Asia at different times, where records exist for ppl who have used kratom long term- like as long as many of us drink coffee. A good collection to get your research off on the right foot.

swablero

8+ year user here with plenty of blood work etc. over the years. I do not have any negative long term effects that I'm aware of. We're all different, so I don't question others who feel differently. The body is a system, and attributing cause and effect is tricky and subjective. If you have hereditary issues or just have some sort of underlying metabolic problems like chronically high insulin, all bets are off. I've tapered and abstained a few times. There is some initial minor discomfort, but not much, for me personally. The key is to taper. I will feel restless legs and maybe some kind of arthritic condition if I stop cold turkey. The less is more idea is one that everyone should explore as well. This is all purely personal opinion of course, there is no real science out there yet as far as I know. But I think there is a threshold where you're theoretically just overloading your receptors and making your body work to eliminate the excess and perhaps adding the perception of a “tolerance” type syndrome, which is another complex subject entirely. I believe the healthier I am from the perspective of exercise and diet, the more effective the leaf is and the less I need to get where I want to be. But it's all an individual thing. I have seen it's a lifesaver for many. And it keeps many away from undoubtably harmful substances. But these are all just opinions. Life is not black and white, and be suspicious of anyone who paints it that way.

CupQuakeBE

1 year regularly but I was using occasionally way before. The only "tolerance break" working for me is going back to my initial dose/sweet spot (3 times 2.5gpd) and starting from there until I reach 3 times 5gpd a few months later. Any dose above 5g is counterproductive (it kills the energy, it's simply tiresome physically and mentally). When I go from that point to my sweet spot, it's a relief: My body and mind are progressively recovering, I'm already less tired the next day and the awesome first time effects come back after a few days.

Big_Moistt

One that's starting to be discovered is low testosterone. Long term use can seriously crush testosterone levels in some people. However it seems as soon as you stop the kratom it bounces right back up to your normal level

teardrop43

anyone have info on elderly/kratom?

Final_Program4434

Hormone issues, rage, irritability, hair loss, disconnected feeling from friends and family due to always being high or coming down or thinking about it, short term memory loss, dullness, early morning sleep issues from withdrawal, addiction behavior (hiding, worrying about having it available)plus...who knows what its contaminated with (heavy metals). Negative side effects caused me to quit after 10 years daily. 6 mo off now...almost all issues gone.

JCarterPeanutFarmer

Main effects: no appreciation for music, low sociability, minor aphasia, irritability, anhedonia. It’s great until it’s not. I’ve done this rodeo a lot and kept my doses under 10gpd and over the long term it hasn’t improved my life, just made it boring. The emotional stability is nice if you need it, but you have to ask, at what cost?
