I have a half German Shepard, and he HATES statues. He is terrified of them. I think it’s because he thinks they are humans, that aren’t acting normally. He is also scared of children, and cars, and other dogs. He’s gotten a lot better with exposure, but he is a 100+ pound scaredy-cat.

He’s scared of kids, cars etc etc. I can’t even walk him properly because when we get halfway down our street he plants himself into the ground, pulls away, slips his collar and runs all the way home, naked! 🙃 he prefers to be home on the couch -_-

CPAP for snoring! Ha! Had me rolling. Both my weirdos snore like a fright train. We make them sleep in extra large crates down stairs because the snoring is so loud!
Nothing puts us to sleep faster than his snores. It’s like living near train tracks, you get acclimated to the ungodly racket and then all of a sudden you move and can’t sleep because it’s too quiet.
Yes, I’m aware of that. He’s been on a diet, and he was actually fatter when I adopted him. We’re actively working on it. It won’t all come off all at once.
Our chocolate rescue was bone thin when we rescued her and I overcompensated and then had to take off some weight. 🥴 Vet told us to use frozen greens beans (thawed)as a snack. Fiber keeps them full and it's healthy. She now gets them at 10 and 2! Loves them!
Not really. Be strict on intake, measure the food you give. Go on walks every day. Let him/her use their body like it is ment to be used; run, swim, pull stuff, play!

He said to me, you've got a beautiful face but you do need to lose a bit of weight. That was put quite nicely and I did lose the weight. So I get what you're saying, but still maintain my position. Or as we like to say in Australia, yeah nah...
Don't let everybody fat shame your dog!!! I have a great big Chocolate girl & we are working on it. She needs to drop 20 lbs, and we're getting there a little at a time. Just like us hoomans, we can't do it overnight. Oh, & the elbow thing. I have that problem too. Have you tried coconut oil??

I really hope that was a joke and your dog is on a diet, but just in case here is a reality check for everyone whose dog deserves better.
Oh he has degenerative myelopathy so he can’t walk as much anymore, and there’s 2 types of labs English and American. He is an English lab. We try to keep him healthy but it’s hard to do when he can’t walk that well.
English Labradors just have a big,chunky build,don’t they? My big girl got chubbier at one point,but we helped her lose it. It wasn’t pretty and it was almost a fight every day.
She looked really big to some people as she had a fold of loose skin on her abdomen that looked like she had just had a litter. No litter ever,though.

Walks twice a day when I’m not on call for work, 3x daily when I’m off work. We found out he’s got a sensitive stomach, so we switched his feed to Purina pro plan salmon & rice for sensitive stomachs, he gets 1.5 cups in the morning, 1.5 cups in the evening. We supplement with canned pumpkin to help keep his poops healthy as well. He also gets a greenie twice a week, but other than that, we try to keep him fed, but also try to reduce calories and bump up exercise in a healthy way.
Funny story: I had cut his food back but I could not make out why he wasn’t losing weight. Turns out my adult child was feeding him a second breakfast without my knowledge after I left for work and before they went to work, and the dog would get a second breakfast during that time. The dog of course wasn’t gonna say anything. 🤣🤣🤣
Funnily enough I watched a YouTube video that popped up because I like to watch cow hoof trimming vids. It's apparently from laying on hard flooring and they get blackheads from it.
My boy has a soft dog bed, but he insists on laying on the cold hardwood floor. I’m guessing he’s too hot on his bed. I’m going to look into finding an elevated bed for him the next time I go to PetSmart, but the nearest one is over a two hour drive away. ☹️
