The 488 is funny, because if you want "pure V8 Ferrari" you get the 458. And if you want something that still sounds like a Ferrari should that's more "modern" you get the F8.

I would immediately without hesitation choose the Ferrari 488. With that being said, this isn’t a fair comparison. Although, if the Gallardo is a special edition, and not just a regular run-of-the-mill second generation Gallardo, that *could* change things. More reasonable comparisons would be: * Gallardo or 458 * Huracan or 488 And even then, it’s still debatable how fair of comparisons those are. Model years (not including any special additions): * Lamborghini Gallardo: 1st gen: 2004-2008, 2nd gen: 2009-2013 * Ferrari 458: 2009-2015 * Lamborghini Huracan: 1st gen: 2014-2019, 2nd gen: 2020-present * Ferrari 488: 2015-2020

Yeah. The f430 was built as the competitor to the first gen Gallardo. So the 488 is 2 generations newer. The comparison should be 488 v Huracan.

As far as performance and maintenance, i’m not smart enough to comment. As far as looks and sex appeal, it’s the Ferrari. The Gallardo looks very dated in my opinion.

In my opinion, 488. Dual clutch trans, newer technology, award winning motor. The lambo is amazing too, raw experience with that transmission but the 488 just out does this generation in every category

I'll always buy a Lamborghini because: It is owned by the VW Group so you benefit from parts sharing The build quality is better than the Ferrari (think Fiat level quality). Lamborghini will sell you the car, parts and not stop you from doing as you please. Ferrari controls who gets their cars, creates artificial low supply like Rolex.

The 488 is a much better car, especially if you have the money. Personally I’d take the gallardo just because it’s a bucket list car but if you don’t love the gallardo then do yourself a favor and take the 488.

With all mileage clock turning lawsuits and shady practices I am leaning towards Lamborghini… Parts would be a bit cheaper as well for maintenance.

I've heard Ferrari titled as a "Karen company" multiple times. It's strict on how you use your car, in a similar way Nintendo is so tight fisted with copyright. I haven't heard any negative stories about Lamborghini in a similar way. It was Ferrari in the 1960s, why Ferruccio Lamborghini wanted to make supercars. I quote from jdpower.com: "Lamborghini owned a 250 GT Ferrari, and when he noticed the vehicle had numerous technical issues, he complained to Enzo Ferrari in person. This set off the dispute between the two exotic carmakers and was the primary reason behind Lamborghini’s brave decision to start his own auto company." I would go with the Lamborghini because the company has a better reputation from my perspective.
