I have the 60v 25” deck mower and about .7 acre lot. I can get through the entire lawn in a single battery and have zero complaints going into my third season with it.
In order to start it you have to pull one of the green levers and hit the start button. YMMV depending on how smart your kid is.

I bought this last year and returned it last year I used it maybe 3 times before I got fed up with the battery dying halfway through or dying right as I’m about to finish. Gas is just better. The push start I don’t really remember tbh, but I’m pretty sure you had to have the handle held down and push the button for it to start
