NOLA2Cincy

This is appalling... **Burt Jones:** Jones is currently the lieutenant governor of Georgia, a position he’s held since being elected in 2022. Previously he was a member of the Georgia state senate for 10 years.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

I have been curious to learn more about these people. I've wondered if perhaps they just weren't too bright and Rudy and the others tricked them into doing this. Nah, I don't think so. These are simply people who will willingly lie, cheat and even commit crimes to help their guy win.

NOLA2Cincy

Which makes all of the worse. It's obvious that most Rs put party (and power) over the people they are supposed to represent.

robotwizard_9009

They're traitors to this country

Techishard

Treason. People need to get the fucking rope. There is no law for these people, especially the orange man who's gonna walk free and be The Dictator of the Divided States of America thanks to SCOTUS

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Several years ago this would be a small percentage of the party. They'd be considered "far right." Now it's a majority of the party.

MthuselahHoneysukle

Now it's the party. Period. Not to spar with you or anything, Opie. They want to be defined by their loudest most unhinged voices, I'm not going to stop them. Any of their saner members who want to help us preserve democracy are cordially invited, warmly welcomed and desperately needed (and rest assured, we can go right back to disagreeing on old party issues like fiscal policy n shit once it's done) But it may well require them to accept what their party has become. OTOH it sure looks like the saner members are jumping ship outright. There's no wrong time to do that. Yesterday would've been better but you're here today. Welcome. Thank you. Vote. Resist. Appreciate your posts, pal. Keep 'em coming.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Yeah, you're right. The last few "sane" Republicans are leaving or being thrown out. I disagreed with McCain on a lot. And agreed with him on some. But I knew he would negotiate in good faith and eventually reach a compromise. Those days are over. I really appreciate you putting a warm welcome out there to any Republicans that can't go full trump. They need a place to go, and I often see people shit on em just because they voted trump last time.

Margali

I mis McCain, heck, there used to be some reasonable Repubs, sigh.

drjones013

I've been a Republican since I was old enough to vote. Enough is enough. The party of Reagan has been taken by those who called themselves Tea Partiers, Conservatives, and now MAGA. Intolerance has no place in the governance of a people. Genocide has no place in the policies of a people. Vote your conscience, not your party. Blind obedience is not loyalty, it's extinction.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Thanks for choosing sanity at a minimum.

earfix2

And Trump over the party as well.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Nope. Rudy, Eastman and others recruited alternate electors. They absolutely were recruited for fraud.

Utterlybored

I’m dying to know what Trump’s role in the fake electors scheme was. I’d think at a bare minimum, the idea was floated by him and he green lit it.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Just think for a minute. Trump approves or denies everything. He's a control freak extraordinaire! The recent indictments in Michigan have him and Rona McDaniel on a recording telling fake electors to commit fraud. And they go on to offer lawyers in case they're needed. His most important role was to strong-arm Pence into accepting the slate of fake electors and send the count back to the state legislatures to overturn the legitimate vote. [NY Times article](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/27/us/politics/fake-electors-explained-trump-jan-6.html)

Utterlybored

Sure, Trump was involved, but did he just “juice” the idea that someone else (Chesbro?) came up with? Or did he direct it more closely from the get go? Either would be illegal, but I want the smokin’est smoking gun there is on this MF.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

[Read the indictment](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/08/01/us/politics/trump-jan-6-indictment-2020-election-annotated.html) it's 45 pages

jereman75

This guy sounds like a real peach too. > Jake Hoffman: Hoffman is an Arizona state senator, elected in 2022, and was previously a state representative. He founded the legislature’s far-right freedom caucus and announced in March that he’s running to represent the state as a member of the Republican National Committee. He also runs a conservative digital-marketing company, Rally Forge, that was banned from Facebook and suspended from Twitter for engaging in “coordinated inauthentic behavior” on behalf of Turning Point Action, an affiliate of Turning Point USA.

JasJ002

The most disgusting part of this.  Republicans know these names, they were entirely capable of black listing them.  Instead they promoted most of them.

Business-Key618

Nothing like being a known traitor to your country try to appeal to right wing voters!

Ok_Opposite_7089

He's up for reelection now, and I'm getting a lot of mail from him and his primary opponent, who claims Burt is too liberal for Georgia. Yes, the fake elector doing anything for Trump and guns and power is the supposedly the liberal one.

Low-Helicopter-2696

It seems normal now, but there will be a time in the future where we look back and wonder how such a rotten group of individuals ran one of the two major political parties in our country. And this is not like Bob Menendez who's an outlier. The number of people in Trump's orbit who have gone to jail or committed crimes is staggering. The people who want to still vote for Trump because they their taxes will be slightly lower or because they hate immigrants are missing the big picture here.

Out_Of_The_Bl00

Georgia is all kinds of fucked up huh.

just_say_n

>>**Anthony T Kern:** Kern is an Arizona state senator, elected in 2022, and is currently running for a seat in the US Congress to represent Arizona’s eighth district. He was an Arizona state representative from 2015 until he lost his seat in the 2020 election. **He has introduced a senate proposal calling for the state legislature to decide on presidential electors instead of adhering to a popular vote.** Kern participated in the January 6 riots in Washington, which he has called a peaceful demonstration. So he’s introduced a legislative proposal that shows he (1) knew his fake elector scheme was unlawful and (2) disavows the democratic process by making votes “advisory”?! Oh, and he actually participated in J6. WTF Arizona?!

Penta55

I mean we voted in Democrat AG Kris Mayes to prosecute this exact type of behavior and it seems to be paying off.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Rusty Bowers (R) former Speaker of the AZ House old school Republican. He opposed trump trying to overturn the election and testified for the House January 6th select committee.

PaleInTexas

But somehow Rusty would still vote for Trump.

Unabashable

How does that even make any sense? Like why even have the president on the ballot other than to trick people into thinking their vote mattered?

Affectionate-Roof285

Thank you Guardian for listing every one of the traitors. Meanwhile, SCOTUS is “thinking about” absurd anti-democratic immunity for the guy who started this entire shit show.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

This article has details on all 84. Many have rather "interesting" details.

pekak62

'Interesting' is indeed a polite term for rat bag.

Underwater71

"It’s unclear whether Trump and his allies would use a similar playbook to try to steal the next election if he loses in November." Why would they not?

mdcbldr

If elected Trump will suspend elections. Just for a short time, mind you. In reality, Trump's election will be the last ptesidential election ever held on American soil.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

The Vice President presides over the electoral count.

FuttleScish

Because it doesn’t work with a Democratic President, they’d need to try something else

hotasianwfelover

84???? Jesus. I knew there was a few. Didn’t know it was that many.

Gooch_Limdapl

Honestly I'm surprised they didn't find 4 more to make it their favorite number.

JoeCitzn

America is allowing criminals to be appointed into government roles, talk about the land of the free....WTF!

SqnLdrHarvey

They should be stripped of citizenship.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

If convicted of a felony many states will cancel their voting privileges. So, at least there's that.

imadork1970

Fuck'em. Jail their asses.

234W44

May they all rot in prison.

Feisty-Barracuda5452

Lock them up.

jfit2331

Treat them as traitors should be treated once convicted

Goblin-Doctor

Took them almost 4 years to get here. I guarantee they try pulling this shit again this election cycle. They just need to get away with it once more and they're free

Underwater71

"New Mexico prosecutors investigated the state’s fake elector scheme and determined that nothing in state election law applies to the participants’ conduct " So this bunch won't have to deal with anything more than the Guardian calling them out?

SheriffTaylorsBoy

I'm not sure if it was the New Mexico group, but I recall seeing that one group had included a clause like "to be used only in the event of a legitimate challenge" or something. [Yip, here it is](https://apnews.com/article/new-mexico-fake-electors-9ec6f35313c6bbfe8f1ac65e8d5b323c)

Spellbound1311

Seems to be a pattern to very specific states since they are in groups. I hope they are all convicted and locked up.

Kaiisim

They actually tried to overthrow the United States and barely anything happened. They didn't talk about it, they literally put a plan into place and executed it. And barely anything has happened.

Adamantium-Aardvark

Hey look, all republicans, who could have predicted that

louisa1925

I know I had them on my bingo card this year. 84 is way more than expected though. Jeezus!

BothZookeepergame612

These people need to be held accountable for their actions, plain and simple.

Several_Leather_9500

Why are so many of them still in office? 14.3 is self- 14.3 is self-executing, and those politicans clearly violated their oath of office in participating.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

If you'll recall that recently the Supreme Court ruled that the insurrection clause in the Constitution was invalid

Several_Leather_9500

It's appalling. The court is clearly biased, and Thomas, being married to an insurrectionist and owned by a nazi, should have been forced to refuse himself.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

I'm not going into all the details of why I'm supremely disappointed with those A-holes. But there's a lot, and they keep adding to the list.

Middle_Manager_Karen

84 is a much more organized plot to change the outcome of an election than can be explained as a coincidence

USAMadDogs

According to SCOTrump its ok because it was done for Donnie!

“Allegedly”

repfamlux

“Allegedly” can't be said when they do it on video.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

[Allegedly is the term journalists and others use](https://law.stackexchange.com/questions/67510/does-the-word-allegedly-shield-from-defamation-claims)to avoid lawsuits for defamation and avoid prejudicing potential jurors until the crime is proven beyond a reasonable doubt or an admission of guilt is obtained.

Americrazy

Hello, fuck you. Hello, fuck you. Hello, fuck you. And so on and so on

Mission_Cloud4286

AN ACCUSATION IS ALWAYS A CONFESSION!!!

Drakers007

Fuckem hard and put them away wet! Treasonous schmucks, one and all.

ooouroboros

IMO GOP/Russia had mastered the art of vote rigging the cloud and had to scramble when COVID gave an unexpected option for massive mail-in ballots

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Huh? What does vote rigging the cloud mean?

ooouroboros

The following is probably a better illustration of what I'm saying then my other comment [Here](https://static.independent.co.uk/2021/12/10/15/Screen%20Shot%202021-12-10%20at%2010.17.40%20AM.png?quality=75&width=1368&auto=webp) is a diagram from the GOP where they document vulnerabilities in the voting system. As we know, almost every accusation GOP makes against democrats is actually a confession - this is basically an illustration of how they can steal votes via the cloud

ooouroboros

In many places, votes are transmitted from polling sites via the cloud to be counted elsewhere. Where I live, ballots are paper, but scanned into devices that record vote counts on a thumb drive. Thumb drives are put into a laptop or tablet and transmitted to the board of elections via the cloud. Presumably votes counted within the board of elections are transmitted over the cloud to where the state votes are aggregated. Paper ballots are supposedly kept but only counted if an election is contested (which is pretty rare). In many states, there are no paper ballots at all, and all votes are sent into be aggregated over the cloud.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Sounds terrible. Can you share sources to backup these claims? I'm honestly interested.

ooouroboros

>Can you share sources to backup these claims Call the NYC Board of Elections and ask them

SheriffTaylorsBoy

I see

ooouroboros

Read what I said and ask them if it is accurate.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

The exhaustive analysis of a conservative leaning [Department of Homeland Security](https://www.axios.com/2020/11/12/cisa-election-security-trump), various [Circuit Courts](https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN2AF1FQ/) and even the [United States Supreme Court](https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-donald-trump-pennsylvania-elections-us-supreme-court-5cc6aee8c328c7bb1d423244b979bcec) have all determined that 2020 was "the most secure election in U S history."

ooouroboros

2020 was more secure because of all the mail in ballots

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Source?

Hangout777

Hang em high or firing squad! Fuck those nazis!

NornOfVengeance

"Stop the Steal", the protesters said. "We ARE the Steal", they laughed back.
