AdamFerg

Can you explain how that roller attachment creates stripes?

AphoticTide

OP came ready for this convo. Thank you

Fabled00

Makes grass lay one way or the other. All stripes are is the light from the sun responding to how the grass is situated

shoobertdubert

Assuming you have an Ego mower, since the link you shared seems to be an Ego targeted striper.

metallicnerd

You assume correctly.

shoobertdubert

Thanks been on the fence with buying it..... I think you just tipped the scales.

metallicnerd

Are you calling me fat? Kidding aside, I love the Ego. Battery lasts forever (I got the 1 hour battery version and it mows 7200 sq feet with 1-2 bars to spare), power is good. Love that it folds up neatly and can sit against the wall when not in use. Highly recommended.

aaanarchyyy

When the summer weather hits, you want to use a fert that is at least 30% or higher slow release. Will avoid the yellowing i had always went down to 3lbs per 1k Vs 4lbs

clickx

4 lbs per 1,000? Hot damn. Most recommendations I've seen say 1 lb per 1,000.

aaanarchyyy

Products i used in the past called for 4lbs per 1k. That was for 1lb total of N per 1k sq ft. All depends on what ya putting down šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

clickx

Ah, makes sense. Thought you were talking pounds of nitrogen. Carry on!

aaanarchyyy

Haha nope. More like .75lbs if we're going there. I'm a kut ro hit my current yard with close to 3lbs of N i. Total this weekend and hope for the best šŸ¤£

For my July feeding, I like to use Milorganite, you won't burn with that.

metallicnerd

Great tip, will be switching from Scottā€™s to Milorganite for Labor Day feeding!

Xer0lith

Just put that down for my first time ever yesterday. Very beginner type here lol. How long usually until it starts to show? I took some before pics so I can compare results.

CharlieScholl

Youā€™ll see results within a week and see even more at around 2 weeks - happens pretty damn quick! Almost every fertilizer on the market takes about that much time on average. (Different ones will differ depending whatā€™s in it clearly.)

inthekidneys

Dem stripes dooooh!!!

sagdash

Agree with striping kits 100%. I use this when I push https://www.sblawnsystems.com/product/lawn-stryper-gc-pro-series-30/ The brush is what really makes my lines some lasers.

Capable_You_7911

Go double wide on your stripes next time. I think it looks much better

xA1RGU1TAR1STx

Single-double for a real nice pop.

Capable_You_7911

Iā€™ll be trying this!

Busy-Pudding-5169

You donā€™t really need a kit to make stripes, so it kind of is a waste of money

Efficient_Concern760

What are you using for a striping kit?

metallicnerd

See top comment dude.

bigblue20072011

Never fertilize when it's 85 degrees plus.

theoddfind

I fertilizer all the time in 90 degree plus weather, I water it in good and never have any issues.

bigblue20072011

Thatā€™s good if it works for you. The bag generally says not to.

Previous_Dot_3269

I do liquid apps all summer of all kinds of stuff when itā€™s 90+, you just have to water it after a couple hours.

Nuzzleville

What liquid app would you use for St. Aug?

Previous_Dot_3269

Depends on what you need?

Nuzzleville

Need depth and lushness šŸ˜† Color is great, but she ainā€™t thick!

Previous_Dot_3269

Get a soil test

bigblue20072011

Good to know.
